Looks like someone bought the honey badger.😎 I agree there are variables that are left out, but the SIG does appear to be the better option and you're getting more for the money. Fully ambidextrous, tool-less gas adjustment, piston driven, non rotational QD sling attachments, completely made in house, etc. I think it looks a hell of a lot sexier, too. They also didn't get into how modular the spear LT series is either. I'm glad I went with SIG.
It seems like you boys are a touch misinformed on a few things. We'd love to have you guys up to the shop in NH so ya'll can talk to the engineers about the decisions we made! Drinks on us.
Radian CH and Geissele trigger (both superior than what comes with Spear) makes up the difference in price. I own a Spear LT and switched out both of those with what’s on HB.
Only problem with the honey Badger is you do not have the option to swap over to the recoil system and piston system found in the mcx. Which would cost much more than the trigger or ch. you would be about $100 more than the HB with those upgrades and have 10 times the gun at that point. Can agree on the trigger and CH being better from radian. But that is more of a preference thing that can be easily changed if you really want. Personally I don’t mind the trigger on the spear and most people don’t. So In that sense the price difference really is not worth it.
People just want to hate on the honey badger especially when they don’t even own one. They think they should rationalize why the “cheaper gun” is better
We could easily own one if we wanted to, we just don’t. We have tested the HB many times in the past and the opinion has not changed. There are better guns for the money on the market that aren’t “cheaper” by any means. Just better. No judgement if you picked up a HB. They are slick for sure.
have both, but i still end up grabbing the HB as a backpack gun, love the lightness. the ambi controls is a major gripe for real. feels like at this price point it shud be included
I disagree: 1. for people who actually fight with guns "ambi controls" aren't ideal. 2. The Badger has better terminal ballistics out of a shorter barrel. 3. The badger rail is stronger, holds better zero, and ideal for lasers. 4. Its lighter and more compact. 5. Its better supressor host. You cant compare guns by simply comparing parts, you have to compare guns by taking a systems approach in which you analyze which is more effective in meeting its stated objective, "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts."
I’d take a look at why the military required ambi controls in their next squad weapon. Those are guys who “actually fight”. If the badger was a good option then why don’t special forces teams opt for that platform? You’d be hard pressed to find any teams running anything from Q. How does the Q have better ballistics? The data shows the opposite.

It’s not bad but it is not the optimal length for a full proper burn in 300 blk. 9-10 inches. it was that length that the cartridge was originally designed around. Both barrels have a 1:5 inch twist and the boombox is built around an AR-10 frame so it is both of those is a moot point.
