- While out checking out yard sales, I ran across this 1958 Lawn Boy Push Mower. It has an Iron Horse engine. Let's see if it starts and mows?

Those were the best you could buy back in the 50s. They are so easy to use and last forever. Great find.

An awesome find Joe! I'd check the plug and the air filter and sharpen the blade. And put some fresh gas in it. I used mowers like this when I was a kid.

$30.00 was the right price I've been collecting old lawn boy mowers for about 16 years now and I've learned your supposed to get them for little to nothing and $30.00 especially since it's still running well was definitely worth it. If I was you I would restore it I have one in particular in my huge lawn boy mower collection that's A 1954 lawn boy iron horse mower you have A C 10 engine on that one mine has the early A series engine on it I restored mine years ago and it's really nice. I must have at least 50+ lawn boy mowers in my collection and I'm still collecting old lawn boy mowers and I will never stop collecting them because I like on 5 achers and I have the space for them. Monday someone gave me A old lawn boy mower for free he was going to throw it away and I just recently purchased A 1955 lawn boy iron horse mower from eBay it just came today and it runs as well. I actually have 2 1955 lawn boy iron horse mowers one I restored about 5 years ago and it's A 18 inch deck and I just got another 1955 lawn boy mower with A rare 21 inch deck.

That small engine on the mower is a Tecumseh.
It is a lawn-boy which at the time was part of outboard marine OMC. The forgines of the engine was made by OMC everude, but just about everything else was made in the Lawn-boy plant.
It's running A little too rich there's A mixture screw on the top of the carburetor while it's warmed up and running slowly turn in the mixture screw that engine should be screaming
