Sometimes when turbo is not the case and adjusting turbo waste gate do not help, solution is zener diode connected to MAP sensor. 5W 4.7V, connected between signal wire and ground. So ECU, cars computers will never see overboost (5V), as diode block MAP signal at 4.7V maximum. It worked for me anyway.
But car will run ok with to much boost?
@@modrix Yes, I run chip on fuel rail along with zener diode on MAP and it works fantastic. I think in long run I risk damaging hot side of turbocharger, but on the other hand I never drive too hard my RAV. MAP sensor is there to protect turbocharger from damage, not engine. That small 49 mm turbo is not powerful at all.
@@modrix Map sensor, when locked at 4.7V signal with zener diode, ECU see 24.7 PSI boost or 1.7 bar. Way before limp mode. Works fine with chipped fuel rail.

@@modrix Wanted to share with you, like you shared main problems with turbo on this engine. Zener diodes are super cheap, but people sometimes spends thousands on new Toyota turbocharger + labour, after still having P1251 on dashboard.
Hi! I think that you have inverted the tubes in the valve, so you have the correct pressure only over 3000 rpm (with the risk of the over speed of the turbine) and a slow acceleration below 3000 rpm( like a turbo lag). Maybe the system does not ghive you a error code, but in reality is NOT working correctly..... I have the same problem (Not jet solved). My tubes (Original) where inverted if compared to yours. More over, the actuator regulation in the turbine must not be toutched because is
already calibrated, and you can Break the and points of this valve that are very delicate( This from my bad experience..) If you can, use a vaquometer to check if the pressure canges correctly (-n. in low rpm, 0 in hight rpm)

A mechanic has solved my turbo boost problem. Please check the fuel filter. The no origlinal ones don't have a correct lock and the air can enter in the filter, causing the turbo boost error. Let me know if you have resolved!

1-2-3 robs strādā labi, var spiest lidz 4k apgriezieniem, nekādu problēmu.
4 un 5 robs jau sagādā problēmas, sasniedzot ap 3k apgriezienus, ieslēdzas ķip avārijas režīms (tie paši error kas tev video)
Nākam mēnes veikšu diagnostiku un mēģināšu tavu metodi ;)

Līdz šim zināms, ka man turbīnai bizķets 😅 Špļauj ārā eļļu un eļļa ir satecējusi vietās kur viņai nevajadzēja būt 😅 Tagad dabūju restaurētu turbīnu, mainīs un tad skatīsies kas un kā, ja vēl būs tas pats, es to toyotu vnk nošķilšu pret koku 😅

Hi, I see that you are talking about adjusting the turbo regulator, but what exactly needs to be done? How to reduce the pressure, shorten or extend the arm?

i had code 34(2) same issue driving loosing power have to spot restart engine and then it works fine. had turbo refurbished like 3-4 years ago and turbo sensor replaced into new one. and now this issue appeared :D seems will need some adjusment

Hi Great vids....Please can you help me I am stuck living on a small Caribbean island with my Rav4 diesel turbo that no one here knows anything about diesel turbos can help the turbo is not running as it should ok on the flat but dies on hills I get code P2226 MY MEC has spent hours trying everything we change the map and the maf ..and the TURBO suction control valve the one with the small rubber tubes connected if that what its called ...there was a slight improvement but still showing P2226 CODE ...please can you help ...could it be the EGR IS BLOCKED..!!

what is target pressure (absolute) on this 85KW engine? 1.85 bar? so 850 mbar full boost? many many thanks

Very Good video, excellent suggestion, where should the Zener diode be placed? The MAP sensor has three pins, + - and signal. Then what do you do on the fuel channel?
My car sometimes goes into Limp mode when i go around 2,5 - 3k rpm, especialy in second or third gear. I got the error codes P0105 and P125, and i tried changing that boost preassure valve, and it seemd to make things better for about a week, then the problem came back again, and the car is kind of "lagging and pulling" a bit as well.. Got any tips for me Do i need to change the whole turbo?:/
I have the same one Rav4 D4D 85kw. It also happens from time to time go to the Limp Mode. I changed MAP sensor and the VSV valve. I adjusted the pressure, but I keep getting another error P2226

@@modrix I will change e-rvr valve which regulates the pressure through variable geometry. It has not stuck.
