Please don't stop making videos. Yours are the best, they go beyond just cards. Into the meta-data surrounding them, which is arguably more important. Thank you. I love this channel.
as a collector who just recently came back to the game, this is such good advice for every avenue of life. its something i didnt grasp until recently. awesome video
amazing video ! one of the best feelings in pokemon collecting is opening a pack and pulling a card u love , that buzz of happiness is worth more than the value of the card itself . if the card is valuble then that's a bonus ⚡
I have always loved collecting Pokémon cards as a kid. I got back into buying singles when I started working while in University. Now, I’ve recently been buying Graded PSA cards. It’s gotten out of hand :( I thank you for taking the time to research and make this video. Definitely something I can apply not only to just Pokémon cards. Subscribed.
Not what I was expecting to run into on the morning pokemon bing, but honestly you make great points. I always feel like this with Pokémon. It’s all about the joy of the journey. My collection will never be on the level of any influencer because I can’t dedicate that much time and money to it. But it’s still great fun along the way!
I must buy pokeman cards. I look at them, eat with them, sleep with them and talk to them. The characters have feeling too and if you talk too them it makes them happier.
Great video bud! Love seeing the psychological aspect of consumerism. Have you seen Albert Bernaisse Moving the Masses on youtube? Very interesting stuff. The rise of consumerism in the 60's.
I keep a list of other cards things I want in my cart, so when I check out, I see all those things, I'm passing on right there... Then I can more easily decide which I want more. As a teacher, do you also (I am too) feel that your discipline increases when you teach less (have to moderate problems and your emotional impulses less)?
I have a book of Pokemon cards I've had since I was a kid. I'm 34 now and I would appreciate if someone would point me in the right direction to get these things graded.
I’ve been doing some research on this. I’ve heard they should be put in card savers to be shipped. And there’s a couple companies, PSA and CGC. PSA seems to be more well known for Pokémon but CGC grades harder so higher quality I guess? If you look up how to trade cards there should be some good videos out there
are you struggling with mental health @PokemonClassics? I liked the beginning of this video about the marshmallows but halfway through it is more self-projecting
No, I'm good . . . I appreciate your asking though. I'm a school teacher and although it's a pretty stressful job (especially this time of the year), I very much enjoy my life. The second half of the video expresses some of the underlying philosophies that make-up my worldview. I was hoping others might find meaning in them as well.
@@pokemon_classics I think it's a paradox, people are mental if they aren't struggling with mental health. And if they aren't then they haven't tried to be authentic enough
Don't forget about people who "invest" by gambling in pack battles and paid spots for races to win a graded slab. Psychology of Pokémon definitely brings in a premium of gamblers for breaks and etc. Sure you get products and such but it all adds up and isn't sustainable. Some people just want to be in the hobby for money and it sucks :/
No, I was about 3/4 through my Master’s Degree while teaching and coaching before a schedule change with night classes put my degree on hold. I had to choose between continuing my coaching position or finish the degree. I figured I could always go back and finish it later. 🤷♂️
Conan, what is best in life? “To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.” Great video, 100% truth nuke, and much bigger than Pokémon. Well done. I have spoken.
" the journey, the experiences, the memories"... You mean of going to said websites and looking for the cheapest option that doesn't look dodgy? The only competition is with yourself, not some person on social media flexing. The actualization is what YOU want to collect, not what FOMO is telling you and the coolest investment on youtube is right now. Process what you gravitate to and sleep on it, if you really want it then go out and get it. set realistic goals and you'll be fine. At the end of the day if you're stressing more than going home and smiling when you see your cards.. get out of the hobby ASAP
I have pretty good self-discipline, but sometimes I dig deep in the crate and rip open a old, sealed marshmallow.

Gzzzzz on 10k brother

Some ones trash is some one else is treasure.
Investment is speculative. The opportunity cost of waiting is sometimes missing out.
Remember beauty and value is in the eye of the beholder and what some one is willing to pay .❤
I have my BA in psychology and this presentation was better delivered than some of my professors lectures. Albeit this was over a decade ago 😂.
The skating was an unexpected but awesome twist!
Thanks love the vid. I'm not a pokemon investor, I collect to play the game, but I love the psychology talk and how it's presented.
Thank you as always for taking the time to making this video. Super insightful again! Looking forward to the next one.
Wow. Didn’t expect such wholesome lessons from a Pokemon channel. Fantastic content. I’ll check out your addiction video.
Great video. You can really see how much work you put into it. X
I agree 100% with this video. Also awesome to watch !
Such a good video and editing. I used to inline myself!

Don't even need to watch this first to know I'll enjoy it. And straight away I know the psychology study

You’re great. Very methodical and unique! Keep up the great work!

Very informative and important video. Relevant advice for my situation.
The skating thing was so random dude
U were fucking killing it too
Excellent content as always!

Brother, this is such a great video.. thank you for this 🙏
I never regret buying pokemon cards

very well put
New here. Cool video, very good topic/take rather than the usual stuff you hear about impulse buying
Super interesting! Thank you!
Another A+ video!
These are the best😊😊😊

25 years later you hope you to get a return worth waiting for.

This guy is based af. Better than those other cringe Pokémon channels that just scream for every card
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I would eat the marshmallow too 😂. 15 min of my time not worth waiting for the second one
I remember you saying you are a teacher and it is evident in your content. Do you have a PhD?
No, I was about 3/4 through my Master’s Degree while teaching and coaching before a schedule change with night classes put my degree on hold. I had to choose between continuing my coaching position or finish the degree. I figured I could always go back and finish it later. 🤷♂️
ahh shit... im the single marshmallow eater....

i regret nothing, all purchases are made for my business lol or so i tell myself
Its not rambling, you have this insight against the status quo. You should dive deeper I think it would help people out.

Collect, don't invest. Investors ruin everything and make it about money instead of fun.
Great video!
