The EU should really take care of its own defense and nuclear deterrent and then see what the actual value of NATO for Europe is.
For the USA, NATO is a power tool, not a defensive instrument. NATO is lead by the USA alone. For Europe it's a dependency. As the war in Ukraine shows, the price is high, too high. As this summit shows, the risk is too high.
There is no moral superiority of the USA over Russia here. While Russia is bombing civilians in Ukraine, so is Israel bombing civilians in Gaza.
