  • Come with me on a night run at Brean Down at Weston-super-Mare in Somerset - head torch at the ready!
'Storm the Fort' refers to the Napoleonic Fort at the end of the down - which we go through twice on this run!
We run two laps of the down and it's amazing how interesting this 1.5 mile long lump of limestone actually is! From neolithic man, to modern airforce bombing practice, this little rock has a lot to say!
Run organised by Channel Events, and is part of their 'Dark Skies series: www.channelevents.co.uk/dark-...
I'm a middle-aged, leisure runner who enjoys the countryside - why not come along with me as I explore new places and find out about them?

It was my first visit to W-s-M - and I found out that Brean has the second largest tidal range in the world! Up to 1200m between high and low tides! Hence the mud!

I used to go there every year until I was 16.... first few years are a bit of a blur I must admit. Well done👏👏

Thanks Dave - it was amazing really, so much history in such a small place! I originally planned to go back on the Sunday and run the lap again, but sadly had to return home instead

Was a real adventure for a young lad to see the Fort. So true on the history of the place. Pity you couldn't do the return run. Great video as always. 👌
