@@Urekyu I think they did a very good job! The pacing was a bit fast in the official but they did also include the scene with Yuri and Repellista, which I didn't have. I have a feeling things will slow down a bit after this episode though. The animation quality is also really good and much better than what I did. On the anime-only side of things, I like how they've handled it so far. Little things like Wangnan taking an ice bath after being burned makes a lot of sense and I think Viole having a flashback at Wangnan's words isn't a big deal because in the webtoon Viole has similar flashback about Rachel in the elevator (literally the scene that happens right after this episode ends) and while waiting for the next test. Overall a much better first impression than the season 1 anime gave me!

Really enjoyed the first episode. The overall pacing felt good and it seems like we're getting ch 1-55 and 56-110 adapted as part 1 & 2 (apparently the people who saw the premiere got to see the uncut ending, and it revealed... that place...). Although there were a few off model drawings and awkward animations in the first half, the second half more than makes up for it. So far it's been worth the wait.

@@Aceofspades928 The info comes from Crunchyrolls announcement trailer from 7 months ago. They teased both “the return of the price” and “workshop battle”, so we should be getting both the tangsooyuk and workshop arc adapted.

Crunchyroll announced "The Return of the Prince" and "The Workshop Battle" 7 months ago in their announcement trailer, and currently the show's official title is "Tower of God: The Return of The Prince" This, plus the info we got about the premiere all point to a part 2.

I prefer s1 art style a bit more, it feels a bit generic right now (even tho i think it could be considered faithfull to the manhwa since these characters also look a bit generic there at that point in time. Its with evolution of SIUs drawing that characters started gaining more unique traits as the story went on so i think its fine)

In chapter 550, we can still see Talse uzer story by Slave In Utero in chapter numbers/title page.
In chapter 551, the Talse uzer story is gone and it never returned from what I can remember.
A part i wished they have showen is that shinsu bombs are not effektive angist ju viole Grace but regular bombs are very sad the only showed the normal bombs 😢

I started binge-reading the webtoon about 1-2 years after the season 1 anime came out. I couldn't sit with the thought of perhaps never getting an anime continuation, and this series was the sole reason I read webtoons now! Been fastpassing for years tho, hehe..😅

I had to take a break in the first 5 minutes of episode 1 and just process the fact that I was actually watching season 2. I got emotional. It feels like we've been wanting and hoping for a season 2 for so long with no hope. Now it's here.

They should have switched the ED and OP songs because the ED is SO much better. The first just feels like it's never "going off" and just feels choppy and as if it is going around in circles.

My only other thoughts about the episode are the skeleton power being there is surprising and I really wish bams Shinshu blasts we're a lot larger and more lazer like because they're way more fire like and explosive but with the sounds of water Shinshu

for the pacing its needed to be fast and how many chapters they have to adapt. it definitely pulled a Bleach TYBW Cour 1&2 with how much pacing its doing for anime onlys.
Def feeling the first season animation more. It was unique and less choppy, though not as bright.

Man its been 4 yrs since season 1 ended, and even though I've already read the webtoon and know what's gonna happen, I was still a little excited for the anime to return. Even though my expectations are pretty low I thought this episode was still really good. I just want a faithful adaptation with decent art and animation. Any more than that and I'll happily take it. Plus the music was really good as expected.

2020 it was the beginning of manhwa so I under why season 1 had issue. Now with solo leveling and other adaption..they know HOW to grip us

I'm so glad this is finally back. Jesus, it felt like such an eternity that I even gave up hope and forgot about it. I remember checking almost every day for news of season 2 after season 1 ended.
The animation is definitely better and the music is great as well. Also, I don't remember much about this arc. Is the season going to end with Bam meeting Khun and the others?

Here's my take on the episodes:
1-4: is where all of them get into the trst and viole teams with the others
5-7: viole fights urek
As for the other episodes, I forgot what happened after bbam fought urek but I do recall the workshop battles so that might be for episodes 8 to 12 maybe?

13:21 While it was obvious in the webtoon as well, SIU made it seem like he lost his memories or was brainwashed initially and that he actually thinks he's this "Viole" person that works for FUG, but the anime makes it obvious that he's just pretending or at least he is still Baam just that something changed after season 1.
i'm actually scared, i really liked this episode but, they really didn't skip all that much, so naturally i thought to myself.. how tf are they gonna adapt 500 more chapters into anime? they adapted about 5 chapters and a half into 1 episode, even if they make, let's say 24 episodes (probably not) for this season, that would mean this season would end right when they are fighting Mirotic (the hell train guardian or smth like that, don't really remember much) either way, that's absolute madness.
That would basically mean that the anime will reach the current manwha chapter in season 5 if we consider an average of 132 chapter adapted in 24 episode per season. but by then YEARS will have passed.
let's say SIU doesn't take any breaks, and let's average a 1 year and a half wait between seasons (very optimistic, that's basically impossible) if we also add to that the 6 months 24 episodes take to come out, we obtain that before season 5, 6 years will have passed by now, that means that about 288 more chapters will have came out, so about 2 anime season, that's another 4 years wait, in total to reach chapter 900 with the anime it would take 10 years, and by then another season could be produced with the chapter that would have come out in those 4 years, that would take another 2,1 years and ONLY THEN the anime would have reached the manwha.
in total it would take about 12 years (being optimistic) to reach season 8 (we're talking about tower of god here, not the globally famous mha, therefore there would not be as many funds, and therefore the wait between seasons could be much much longer, if there even are enough funds to produce the seasons to begin with)
AND, needless to say, the manwha would still continue after that, we're nowhere near its end...
and they can't even adapt more than 6 chapter per episode, HELL even 5,5 chapter per episode is A LOT, in season 1 of the manwha atleast the chapter were pretty fast, but season 2 of the manwha OH MAN, they were LONG.
It's basically impossible to adapt this series into anime and not make a mess.
That said, i'm happy the manwha got another season.
not really, this season is pretty much confirmed to have 24-26 chapters and is going to be divided in 2 cours. The adaption of the first season years ago had a decent pace in my opinion and they covered about 79 chapters. For this season 2, we have 110 chapters to cover(until the end of the workshop battle arc). So people would probably be thinking that theres not enough content there for 26 episodes. The thing is, chapters are considerably longer and have much more content to cover from s1 to s2 and thats why i think it will be a pretty nice adaption. On the contrary, i have seen comments of other people saying that 26 episodes is not enough to cover the entirity of the return of the prince arc and workshop battle arc, but i also dont agree with that. Maybe if they covered literally everything 26 episodes might not be enough but at max you would get like more 5 or 6 more apisodes and since anime seasons/parts usually are made of 12/13 episodes i dont think that kind of pace would be viable.Btw the first cour of this season 2 should end about in the hand of arlen sub-arc or maybe slightly after that. The second cour covers the rest of the workshop battle, and again, even with this pace theres a lot there to cover so 13 episodes will be enough for that. Is also important to notice that as the manhwa goes on the chapters grow increasingly larger, especially on volume 3 of the manhwa, with even more content, so less chapters will be adapted per season (this ofc considering the anime goes well and they get enough money, who knows if it goes extremely well they might have money to get mappa to do the rest of the adaption that would be really crazy, i honestly think that this show has way more potential than jjk or demon slayer)

everything point for them to adapt until the end of workshop battle arc. So the season 2 should adapt about 110 chapter in total -26 episodes of the anime

The only thing I felt super weird about this episode was Yuri’s va, nothing against the va specifically, I just don’t think it was a good fit for Yuri (idk if they changed from S1 or not) everything else was amazing though, can’t wait to see more

great the tower of god anime continues but they are still slacking. the scene i really looked forward to got changed in a bad way. viole jumping between arkraptor and big guy as they try to attack each other and sending them flying in opposite directions was turned into viole cheap shotting them from a distance. all of violes smooth in control moves were no where near as cool as in the webtoon. also they made bam and wangnan scene weird. instead of none of wangnans strong shinsu bombs not working but his cheap none shinsu bomb doing damage was just turned into wow this cheap bomb worked for some reason. the reason the shinsu bombs didnt work is because of violes crazy shinsu resistance but normal bombs work because viole isnt all that physically strong or defensive yet. plus many other things that left out a lot of character stuff again. like yuri jahad's childish side with the hot coco that mascheny suggests for her that she argues until shes gone and asks for coco and gets all excited for it after her talk with replista
The one criticism is that it is fairly fast paced. For readers like me that may not be a problem but anime-only viewers could get confused rushing from plot point to plot point too fast. BTW this is not unique to the TOG anime; God of High School had the same problem.
The pace cannot possibly be slower if you want to cover the entirity of the Return of the Prince and Workshop battle in 26 episodes
But tog have mid adaptation with max 90% to 93% or max 94% like s1 , classroom of the elite s1 to s3 and horimiya type . But god of highschool adaptation worse than mid that's why not count .

@Eduan_the_King I still don't get why they feel the need to stick to 24-26 episodes. If Jojo can get away with 40 episodes, why not TOG? Just give it the episodes it needs.

Tower of god season 2 turn into s1 or classroom of the elite s1 to s3 mid adaptation again . But i don't mind beacuse atleast better than the promise neverland season 2 and tokyo ghoul re . They adapt same as 90% to 93% or max 94% webtoon source material and cut some minor scene / dialogue . Iam supporting tog s2 beacuse i want more tower of god anime season in the future .
