they have perfect teeth, look youthful, seem happy, living on beautiful land and making cheese to feed the village. weston a price was onto something. thank you
What a Beautiful healthy life. The cheese! the glorious scenery and the wonderful kindness, care, treatment and appreciation of the gorgeous cows! Love this. Thank you.
This is incredible, utterly beautiful! Here is Canada my family and I are learning the art and beauty of making artisan cheeses with milk from our goats. Watching your milking and cheese-making operation - plus the sheer joy and contentment that goes along with this type of traditional life-style - is so inspiring! Keep preserving this amazing gift and encouraging others! Thank you for sharing!!
Beautiful that you offer these accomodations.. I have visited grindelwald before. I am arriving from the u.s. in october 2019 and would love to experience the alpine and overnight stay. I have no time limit and as andrea said it is something that has called me my whole life. I live in the u.s. but have always dreamed of coming back to eroupe to live. I was a military daughter born in stuttgard. My mother was born in napoli . I have the opportunity and cannot pass up the dream of possibly living in eroupe. A stay in the alpine working with farmers sounds like a perfect start to my journey.
The overnight stay is an unforgettable experience. But the Alpine farming season is short--just late June to mid-September. Then the cows come down from their summer on the alp and live in the valley until summer comes again.
@@vickineikirk965 Great question! Unfortunately, we don't have any farm recommendations for volunteer work. If you'd like to stay at a farm, you can search "Switzerland farm stays" in booking.com. Trip Advisor may have some recommendations as well.
Amazing video! Beautiful farm and countryside! Fresh bread, fresh cheese, you have it going on my friend! Wow! This is great! Very interesting. Thanks for putting some very good content out here. Your new friends Joni and Reye!
@@Alpenwild you guys do a great job we are just happy to be able to see the great land of Switzerland. Maybe some day we will be able to visit. Can't think of anything at the moment, but if we do we will definitely let you guys know.
Hope to see hyou soon. This summer we'll also be doing videos on the Italian Dolomites, the Julian Alps in Slovenia, and the Via Alpina as we cross Switzerland from East to West

Alpenwild oh I didn’t know that. All I know is that some of the movies that based on his book were shot in New Zealand. Which has similar scenery to this place.
Alpenwild I was in Geneva earlier this year but didn’t have a chance to visit outside of the city :( So I hope to go back to visit Switzerland again in the future. By the way thank you for sharing this awesome video
@@SoSo-hb1my That's alright! There's so much to see in just one city! We hope you're able to return again soon. You're welcome for the video. If you have more video ideas, we'd love to hear them. :)
You have very nice job. I really enjoyed the video. I would like to see that cheese making with my eyes. Beautiful nature, fresh air, cows, cheese and old house. That is what I want to see. I feel depressed and bored in big cities really. And get tired of the society. Switzerland has good opportunities for it. Wish you good luck🤝🥰👍
Part of the way they sustain the farm is by agrotourism, so you pay to visit, eat, and enjoy the serene mountains. However, there are lots of farms in Switzerland that do work exchange programs if you are interested in learning the trade: wwoof.ch/
It is beautiful. But if you ever end up staying a summer at an Alp, you'll see that it won't be tension free at all. There will be injuries to you and your animals. There will be tensions with the few people you share the Alp with. Howerver much you want to romanticice it, it's still hard work and surely won't be relaxed. It's very beautiful and pure though. It's one of the greatest experiences i'f ever had.
Contrast the lovely way the cows are treated, with many horrific conditions these gentle animals are subjected to in American dairies & slaughterhouses.... this video made me cry.
Denise Smith amazing how many people make such comments and have likely never even visited a dairy farm. Farmers have understood for generations that low stress leads to better milk production..dairy cows in this country are fed well, bedded cleanly and comfortably, health maintained, and as happy as any cow you see in this video! Just because they don't have this lovely Alpine vista, and they're milked by machine instead of the loving hands doesn't mean anything! Get educated..then get an opinion. (PS. This is not a discussion about slaughter animals..that is another video and discussion).
they live then better then most people in the world I guess. for me it hurted to see such beauty. alps and even animals, and knowing I will never live there in the alps or any mountain region, stuck here in netherlands. who knows I hope to movie to austria one day. or any mountain beauty country like swiss or north italy...
Thank you, Denise! The Swiss have the most out-right respect for animals. Did you know that it is even illegal to have only one hamster because the loneliness reduces the hamster's standard of living?
I've never seen a hat like his other than in Switzerland. Not sold in the kind of stores most of us shop at. Start at one of the Swiss farm stores like Landi.
Michael is no longer working up there, but you can plan a visit to the dairy with Grindelwald Tourism (grindelwald.swiss/en/summer/product/event/alpine-dairy-excursion-on-the-senntum-michel/).

The cheese is so amazing! This might be the thing we're missing the most this summer. Thanks for watching. :)

I really wish to live this life. As a farmer, away from civilization.
This is just one and only civilization. Civiliziation in the town isn't normal more. I wish to be there and make cheese, because I make it for my self

We hope you get and take the chance to do so!

Do you've to pay to stay and learn how to make cheese, or can you book a time with them to learn as an apprentice and work for your lessons in trade?
