Not sure if Stevie will do it but you can go watch 'Dean attempts to learn' . He tries to learn difficult sections from songs of guitarists like yngwie, Loomis, Guthrie govan, petrucci .
Just in case you don't know who Dean Lamb is. He is the guitarist in the band Archspire, possibly the best tech-death band today.

I usually learn the first lick, then memorized by playing it until i played it correctly, then learned the 2 until i could play both in a single take by memorizing it, etc etc, thats how i learn my songs
And, yes, it takes much time, but it works!!!!
