Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Glitchless Speedrun in

The Real Time for this run is 2:26:43. However, I optimize by Ingame Time.
This category is pretty chill. It's only fun to race for me in my opinion though. I don't see myself taking this category seriously.
This run is still pretty bad, can probably still save like 2 or 3 minutes without Dark Suit skip, but I don't care enough to push this lower.
This run was done in a race with Dyceron (DCR). We made up the rules for this category, and this is what we decided on:
Allowed
Sequence Breaks
Scan Dashing
Ghetto Jumps
Instant Unmorphs/Morphs
Bomb Jumps
Skipping an area's energy
Rollshots
Skipping Bosses/Minibosses
Using Scan Visor to avoid Super Missile Cooldown
Manipulating Boss AI
Skipping the Dark Suit
Banned
Bomb Space Jumps (BSJs)
Underwater Dashes
Ledge Clip Ghetto Jumps
Going Out of Bounds
Infinite Speed
Skipping Phases of a Boss
Air Underwater
Screw Attacking Emperor Ing 3
I did not skip Dark Suit in this run because Boost Guardian is stupid.
Recorded using an Avermedia LGP Capture Card.
Streamed on Twitch using OBS Studio.
Rendered in Handbrake for 720p 60fps.

this sit is filled with glitches. why is it classified as glitchless?
He a bitch boy looking for likes and watches. Sad that I'm even fucking here also. What a fucking clown hahahahaha
@@jeremiahtallantWhy you so angry dude chill tf out.
Man I love the metroid prime games, they were so amazing, even better than many games nowadays
A pleasure to watch you play!
Spider ball was the furthest I've ever gotten as a kid but man you really made me look like a chump 😂 gg
1:27:07 Heh amateur what does he hope to do did he forget that he doesn't have power bombs? 1:27:08 NANI?! Thats impossible!!!!
This is great, but I really wish there was a popular category that ruled out things like scan-jumping. I think it'd be cool to see the game played "as intended", but as efficiently as possible.
Great comment! Those are my sentiments exactly. 👍
Only enjoyable way for me to watch prime runs. All that oob just makes my eyes feel scratchy in glitched.
Dunno if you guys gives a shit but if you are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last couple of weeks xD
@Alvin Leo yup, I've been using instaflixxer for since december myself =)
Currently playing it again trying to get 100% items and scans. I have no idea how anyone can remember where they have to go all the time in this big world... You have my respect!
I respect that
You definitely experience more of the game this way, rather than going out of bounds every ten minutes. And theres still a lot of cool tactics and sequence breaking
Yes! No disrespect to people who exploit glitches, because there’s still skill and memorization required for that, but it’s just not entertaining for me. I don’t get any enjoyment out of watching someone clipping through the map. It’s boring, I’d rather watch this kind of speed run which still allows me to enjoy the full story.
love the game, wish there were some commentary on like: gonna do the scan dash (?), not doing these portals and such. awesome run ~
Nice job!
2:05:59 definitely seems like a glitch
3:00 was definitely a glitch
It's all glitches you idiot
there were a few that i was all "hmmmm" but this moment in the video is what got me to scroll down into the comments and see if we're all on the same page here. it looks like we are. edit: sorry i'm late
Technically its not. He was taking advantage of the hole in the wall and used his screw attack to fit inside.
cool category. kinda wana give it a try.
43:14 AHHHH!!!! Very hard! This took me 3 hours of practice, and still can't do it
Excellent run. Would you ever attempt a 100% Glitchless run?
no
@@Draconif Would it take too long?
It's only too long if it's a single segment recording.
I mean it wouldn't be that long. 7 hours total, maybe five hours game time if I had to guess. I did a 5h52 in game time(segmented).
@@legrandliseurtri7495 I believe it would only be a 3hr igt run, and probably less. I've done 5hr 48 min segmented PAL run on hard and it was very rough at times, didn't know any speed tricks. There's a 100% glitchless PAL run on trilogy version that's like 4hr 12...
Dayum son
Is that starve jump (for further distance) version specific as it used to be in Prime 1? Currently replaying echeos on Wii Eur version. Is that jump possible in this version?
No
So why don’t they have to go into the dark temples? Does it automatically register you as having the energy?
The game only checks for Sanctuary's energy being returned to give you Light Suit.
In the case of Agon Temple, you can just leave the room. Nothing blocks you from going to Torvus without the Energy.
For Torvus, reloading the room makes the elevator in the temple work. Again, nothing blocks you from getting to Sanctuary at that point.
@@Draconif sounds like a glitch
Is there a list of non-glitch sequence breaks I can check somewhere?
It is sad that 'glitchless' needs to be added to a title so people know it's a legit speedrun. All the oob 'speedruns' should be renamed 'glitchruns.'
A glichrun is legit. It's just a different category.
pop5678eye it means that there’s no clipping through maps which is rare these days, i think glitchruns make the game less fun to play and watch
this is some quality cringe
Thus dude is sad as fuck and just looking for comments and views lmfao too bad most of them all say he fucking sucks. This dude fake as fuck
Very dumb opinion you got there. You should actually attempt some of these tricks and then realize how difficult they are to pull off and realize how stupid you are
Why are BSJs considered a glitch?
Excellent video dude. Most of the morons in this comment section clearly don't know the difference between advantage and glitch. Again, excellent video.
use the eliter
I'm here because I wanted a walkthrough of the mindbogglingly boring and poorly designed Prime 2 so I can move on to 3. Seems to be good so far.
2 is the best in the series tho
@@Draconif I don't really understand why people think that MP2 is boring or anything. Sure it has its fair share of bad design decisions like ammo and lazy multiplayer gameplay. Also i find the music in MP1 to be way better, but that's just a matter of opinion. For me i'd say that MP2 is one of the best single player game that game cube offers. Really a masterpiece if you ask me. Still highly playable today and the graphics for this game at 2008 it nothing to laugh at.
Anyway, awesome speedrun!
@@LexxusTheSpark The ammo balanced the weapons out due to how insanely strong they are. Like, they just kinda wipe enemies out with ease. I like how each Prime game handled weapons differently. In Prime 1 the weapons are more specialized for different enemies and situations, in Prime 2 the alternate weapons are really strong but with limited ammo as a trade off to make you consider when to use them, and in Prime 3 you have a peashooter that you put an energy tank into to turn it into an unstoppable invincible laser cannon.
@@cherrychocolate1434 Yeah, everyone says it's a flaw but it's actually one of the best feature. They just want the freedom to shot whenever they want but that would kill the challenge. For 2 Metroid having unlimited ammo foer the beams is the best approach but for Metroid Prime series, which is a slower, more thoughtful experience, the ammo works perfectly. In fact I hoped Prime 3 had this feature. Now I have to wait until Prime 4 to hopefully see this feature again but I really doubt it will. Since the general opinion is against Prime 2, while it's actually far better than the others, especially Prime 3.
Prime 2 is far better than 3. 3 is the worst in the trilogy by a long shot.
