great first time try!
Thanks for sharing. The first time for everything is difficult but gets easier after some practice. Bees keep you learning. LOL
The last two combs you put in the frame up side down. The queen cups are facing up - that's a dead give away. You realize that the cells have an 13 degree angle up from the base for brood and honeycombs. Nice that you're trying to save this little colony. They would benefit from placing them on a double screen board over one of your other hives for warmth over winter.
Exactly. I noticed as well.
That was fun
Great job! I see the comments about putting a few frames in the wrong way, and if I were doing my first swarm, i'm sure the same would happen LOL... Yeah, you need to take a few seconds and correct that.
You stayed calm that's for sure! again, nice job. Did you ever see the queen?
Look forward to your next one.

Good effort. They’re pretty late in the season tho. I always save a few full frames of honey and resources just in case I get a late season emergency.
The combs should be put back the right side up the same orientation that they were originally, you appear to have some upside down.
Mr T, I agree with Sentimenta, the comb should always be put in the frames in the upwards direction the bees had built it. What was at the top in the Owl house should be towards the top of the frames. If you have the Queen, I suggest that you borrow at least one full frame of brood and 1 or 2 frames of honey with pollen from another hive to help these girls. It’s so late in the season they need resources and more bees to make it through the winter. You could add 2 frames of brood if you have it and feed, feed, feed at least 2 to 1. I hope they make it, GOOD LUCK!!!
I agree with you and Don because the bees won't use the combs that are upside down.
Yep. BREAK the birdhouse up gently and save those girls. Great job and video for your 1st✅😁👍👍
Pity you didnt find the queen (hoping there is one) she would have to go in a clip for a day or so, because there has been such a big upset in the hive they might decide to take it out on her majesty and requeening, with a mated queen, baring in mind the season, would be a must. All I can say is lots of feeding to keep them busy and hope for the best.
Any ideas...cought a swarm in May, not a strong colony. Saw a small queen a week ago. 2 days ago it appeared to be getting robbed, smoked the outside of hive heavy and hive returned to "normal" they were covering 3 frames added a frame of brood from a strong hive. 2 days later, all the bees were gone. No dead bees in or around the hive. Any ideas
Keep us posted on how they do
Might be a reason you didn’t mention but obviously it would have been less stressful if you took the box apart. Cut the lid off and then remove the top. Good luck . Hopefully they will make it.
Should not put combs upside down. Keep them the same as they were in removal.
