Finally found your video. Looks like an effective method. Which I'd known you could do that. I was thinking a drop of lemon grass in the sugar water would help. In your July 24th video we see what vigor those young queens have if provided a big work force. Thanks for the video.
The old Switcheroo with a little distraction never hurts. Lemon grass oil is a good idea to get them all smelling the same. It is amazing to she how fast a queen will fill a frame with brood given the right situation.
So I don’t get it ..is the nuc queen already familiar with this hive you stuck her in? I think you said she was spawn of the dead 3 yr queen 👸 RIP... is that right? So same pheromones or something?
Yes she is her daughter from a split earlier this year. The reason I can just add the new queen with all the frames of brood is that she is a laying queen. So a hive that is queen less will accept a laying queen especially with frames of brood and bee's. They don't have to bee from the same queen also I can do it with any laying queen. The sugar water spray helps keep them busy and makes a smooth transition.
Yes I go in every 7 to 10 days. She is a laying queen and has 5 to 6 frames of bee's with her. Not that I have done it but they say you can take out a laying queen and replace her with a laying queen.
As a 2nd year rookie I enjoy the “long” vids. They help me remember what the heck I’m supposed to be doing while working my hives👍
Thank you for watching and I am glad you enjoy them.
Great to see the process! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
And the series rolls on👍
Haha yes it does. Just like Hollywood we can adjust the plot. Bring in the stunt double.

@@mrtsbees4454 well done thank you!
Do you check the brood box every week? Also you introduced the queen without a cage. Will they accept her?
