Nah we not about to do that. You bring a loaded SHOTGUN to school cause you need a hug? The parents should have to do time and get their kids taken away. The kid only got probation? So he’s able to re-plan and come back with something that isn’t as big so he can just pull and shoot? Y’all weirdos kill me with this sympathizing with the criminal bullshit. @@pianist-yx6ot You are right, a student with a gun is possible in the US. In other counties they are more organized. While we have about 30 people killed in mass shootings a year, during the time of the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany and Communist China, their governments imprisoned a large part of their citizens and over 100 million were killed in those 70 years, that is over 10,000 per day - a lot more organized. But I'd prefer we the people have the guns and the government has to play nice. BTW, those weren't the only countries. Pol Pot killed 1/3 of Cambodians, Turkey took out a lot of minorities, Brits supposedly did it to a lot of the colonies and even the American government did it to native Americans and had unarmed blacks as slaves. Better the people have guns, and the government has to play nice.

Definitely. This student shouldn't be dismissed for his actions, because that was an awful decision to bring a gun to school and traumatize students, even when he was only going to kill himself, he would still terrify and traumatize his classmates by killing himself in front of them. DeadlyNeedle ! There are many good teachers out there. Many are scum, however, especially when I was growing up. I went to public schools in NYC and North Philadelphia. I had some great teachers. I had a few teachers that were scum and bastards in each city too. One particular asshat of a teacher that I had in mind was a teacher named Jay Cohen, who was horrible. He had good spots, but was curtailed by a lot of bad shit, including favoritism and policy violations. He regularly made fun of students that he didn’t like, encouraged other students to lie for him when he hit and mistreated students, encouraged kids to hit the ones that “weren’t cool” when they weren’t looking, overlooked the kids that didn’t dress aesthetically pleasing, and so much other stupid shit. Now, couple that with the fact that he was a White/Jewish male, in a low income neighborhood (mostly poor minority and some poor White students), this would be something that the media would eat up today, and Cohen would be arrested/fired. However, this was 1990, when teachers were not held accountable for their shit as much as they were today.
Although I was the smartest in this class, he didn’t like the fact that I was from a poor family, my parents were divorced (but ironically accepting other kids that were born out of wedlock), and I was not a “cool kid.” I couldn’t help where I came from. But, I stood up to him when I was backed into the wall. He hated that shit, and used to grab me and slammed me into the wall. But, he got away with the shit that he did. I used to wish his life would fall apart for his ways, but I don’t anymore.
Jay Cohen wasn’t alone. I can think of tons of teachers that were scum and bastards. I’ll put a few on the Hall of Shame, in case they’re still teaching: Frank Caul, Keegan McIntosh, and Andrew Skopp (although he was not my teacher; he was an old supervisor, with another job, and I hear kids describe him the way I knew him to be.). Keegan had sex with teen girls. Frank slept with young boys. Yet, these people still have their jobs.
Now, I went to school in the 80s and 90s, when kids were passive and took a lot more shit from teachers like Jay Cohen, due to respect issues. Today, these kids aren’t taking that level of bullshit from these teachers, and I understand why some of them feel like shooting the teachers that mistreated them, although I don’t condone it. That young man that came in with that gun probably was mistreated by a teacher, and he felt that he had to handle his business. The coach that held him back reminds you of the fact that not all were bad teachers. I’ve had great teachers too, in spite of the fact that I had some bad ones.
All of that said, this coach should be celebrated more than what he is.
