Admiralty Pier Dover Fishing Trial Day 2021

- Very exciting day,
Fishing a pier that hasn't had a line cast from it in two and a half years.
Managed to get myself a spot on the trial day too hopefully get this pier Reopened to anglers.
The pier closed originally due too storm damage which also made it impossible to access the pier from the road leaving the only route on there through a live port!
Through much hard work and many meetings the trial day was organised.
I seemed to be the last angler to arrive in the morning but I was happy to be back here and quickly found a spot set up a rod and had two Wrasse up the wall on a boom rig loaded with rag worm before I had finished setting up my other gear.
Wrasse and dogfish were in plentiful supply to me through out the day and so were the Mackerel on the feathers!
Many species were landed by other anglers including lobster, bass, red mullet, scad and gurnard!
A great day all in all!
Hopefully angling will return to this great pier soon, If it does remember to adhere to the rules implemented by the D.S.A.A. Respect all staff that work there and KEEP TIDY!
Always be carful with your litter and make sure you either take it home or place it in the bin or we risk losing this Angling venue!

Some lovely bass too and cod in the winter back in 2016
I used to walk down 20m and then cast out looks hard to do because everyone is so close I've caught some lovely fish of the pier
It's is a great pier, we were escorted on to the pier just past the turret, I think I had been given the latest arrival time and had to use what space was left but still had a great day and was happy to be back on the addy!

It's part of dovers heritage people fishing the pier,nice vid there m8 well done
I agree and feel strongly that it needs to be opened to anglers, but I also agree some changes need to be made so it never becomes as dirty as it was before!

That must be a pretty deep water mark for that Ballan wrasse to get a little bit blown like that.
Yeah it gets pretty deep off this pier at high tide! Happened to two of them unfortunately 😕
Had smooth hound to ten pound rays to ten pound my dad had a lovely 3lb gurnard and even a black bream which must of been 2 or 3 pound was by far the biggest bream I'd ever seen had plaice of flatties corner loads of species best place in the country for fishing

This was a trial day to hopefully get it reopened to angling, many hours of work went in by lots of people to make this happen!

About two -three weeks ago yes but they have moved out to sea now

Would love to see a return of some decent cod In kent!
