Shore Fishing UK | An Awesome Fish on an Awful Day at Shakespeare Beach, Dover, Kent

- In this educational sea fishing video I was joined by Pete and Mark on a trip down to Shakespeare Beach, Dover. The clocks had just jumped forward an hour so we were up extra early to get onto the beach for the sunrise. High tide was an hour after we arrived and we were targeting rays on 1 rod each and then anything else that came along on the other rod. Shakespeare beach does throw up the unusual sometimes and in a previous video on this channel I caught a decent Pollack and witnessed an even bigger one come out. Today didn't disappoint either! It was a slow session but a very unexpected catch of a Coalfish in Kent turned a dismal trip into one to remember. The video includes some great underwater footage of fish underwater and some great sea fishing tips and techniques.

Great video. Underwater footage is excellent 👌
Cheers Jason 👍 I love seeing the fish swim off
Awesome catch for Mark, like you I have not heard of many if any coalfish in Kent. Love the underwater footage.
Cheers Ray👍 no I still think they are pretty rare around here
Nice one Mark good catch for the south coast 👏 👍 and a dog saves the day ! Yet again
You can always rely on a dogfish to save a blank🤦♂️ and second that on the coalfish👍
Well done Mark on that Coalfish , glad you got the blank sorted with a trusty doggie. Looks like I'm not the only one working on bait presentation as Petes looked spot on 👍🎣
It's definitely worth the time and effort getting the bait as good as you can get👍. Have you had a chance to use the rod you won wayne?
@@gsp I have , used it twice down at the Thames with my Daughter , not caught anything with it yet , it can bang out a 3oz lead nicely though👍
You need to send me a pic of you with the rod and the 1st fish you catch for my Instagram 👍
@@gsp definitely 👍
Good day mate fantastic underwater footage 👍

Nice size Coalfish that, have had a few there myself. Think i had a couple there 1 day, and have had a couple off Folkestone pier aswell.
I've never heard of any coming out from kent beaches so it's good to here someone else getting a few👍 I've never fished folkestone pier is it any good?
@@gsp oh really, yea im sure Shakespeare beach throws them up quite regularly. Folkestone pier is a great pier to fish. Not that great for bigger fish but great for species.
Well done m8 nice coal fish👍👍👍
I'll accept the congratulations in the absence of Mark! Thanks 🤦♂️😂😂👍

At least you got out well done
Cheers Paul👍 it's always nice to be beside the seaside
That mark fella his a bit of a legend lol 😂
That's not what I heard🤦♂️😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love your enthusiasm fair play! nice coalfish for Mark there, fishing the admiralty a few years back fella next us caught a decent size Sunfish yeah you just never know 😎🎣
Now that definitely pips a coalfish😂👍 I bet he was buzzing😁. I was happy for Mark too when he brought it in as its always nice to see different things turn up
Doggys are always good for a blank saver but they taste good too 😋 👌
I love the taste of dogfish! 😋
Well done to Mark for the Coalfish! 🐟
It's a cracking catch for kent 👍
Broadstairs and St. Peter’s angling society fished Grenham bay Tuesday evening nice report but no hounds caught few decent rays mainly dogfish and whiting
I was hoping a Ray would turn up if the hounds didn't but only managed 1 dogfish between 6 rods🤦♂️
Thanks Greg we may meet up one day I was fishing in Thanet last week Chequers and minnis bay
I fished Grenham Bay over low on Sunday evening but nothing was showing 🤦♂️
Did I see that Mark had a bit of bling on the snood? Clear water + sequins + beads = coalfish . Maybe that was the key?
😂 If only it was that simple! I think a combination of complete chance that a coalfish was in the area and the fact he was fishing a flapping bit of fish bait. When I caught mine from Chesil it was on fish bait on a pulley rig so the same sort of setup
Click Bait
?
Sort that reel out.Sounds awful.
The reels fine, just a worn line guard. Nothing for anyone to worry about😂
