Fishing for Stingray, Smooth-hound and Bass North Kent UK
In this video the aim was to catch a ray I'd never caught before and hopefully target some hounds and bass while I was at it .
Armed only with left over bait from the weekend I drove up to the North Kent coast and scavenged some crabs. After inspecting my Ragworm I realized they weren't looking too healthy and my chances of a Stingray might be slim.
Low and behold by my second cast on each rod I had two of my targets achieved!

First squid hunt of the year for us in the south east. Conditions were tough but the water was clear and its early October so its worth a shot. even though it was lumpy they were there and i managed to find a few them before the night was out.

I believe this video was in Dover but the squid come in all over the south cost up to Deal. Winters the best but the spring run is now!

Cheers dude, hands down the best boat reel I have is an abu garcia ambassador 7000. As for rods it depends on what your fishing for.

Hey, i used to fish the admiralty all the time with my dad in the 90s. Really been thinking about getting back into fishing myself as i do miss it. Used to have some great days mackereling! Whats it like these days, can you pay as you go? Or do you need a pass. I also noticed you released the conga is there a reason for that? We used to take our fish home and cook them is this forbidden now?
Hey, unfortunately you need to become a member of the dsaa to fish the Admiralty Pier these days, it's not hard though! You can take your catch home as long as it's within legal sizes I just don't like eating conger.
@@dogstarfishing7570 yeah ive been looking into it recently, quite chesp for the year would defo head down there a few times. I used to love mackereling off the admiralty. Would put 4 hooks on a rig and reel in 4 at a time haha. Caught some place and dog fish etc too used to be good fun

It's funny here in New York City we would die to catch some whiting. But those sand sharks when we start catching those or rays on the beach we just leave
Unfortunately every whiting we caught that night was undersized for our local laws and had to be returned. But we have a steady supply of them on our coast throughout the year. The Dogfish/ sandshark on the other hand, are a constant pest in our area.

Mate the fishing on this south east corner has been dire this last 4-6 week. My last three sessions have been extremely poor. My mate who owns a trawler out of Folkestone did a night trawling in the bay for nothing and a night trawling in deep water off Dungeness point in deeper water for 1 fish. The rowena shot 40 nets a few days back and caught 1 dogfish. Its very odd as there catching in other areas ok 🤷🏼♂️
I know what you mean 😏. Wow that's amazing that even our local trawlers can't find fish atm. Hopefully it picks up soon with spring.
Thanks for the video, good to see some fish about in January. You're brave driving along there, had a few widowmaker boulder moments from above walking/fishing along there. A few spots I will not walk under now, had one miss me by inches last summer in the dark.
Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah it's a dangerous place for sure, but I love it down there. One of my favourite places.

Hey. The squid invade nearly all kent beaches in the right conditions at the right time of year try Oct Nov and March
Eels are getting as bad as the dogfish round dover , folkestone hythe way now , had 7 the other night in about an hour and a quarter

Good video , you must fish pretty heavy though , even the double figure ray was winched in within a minute or so with not much of a fight , what strength mainline was you using
Nice one mate. I use 18 or 20lb mainline with a tapered shock leader. Some just come in easier than others
