@@RobertRogerification I've always stored all of my extension cords like this… my father is also an electrician and this is how he always stored all of his cords… doubled them Over and then daisy chained them… any thing over 100 feet would be doubled over twice and then daisy chained…
My Grandfather taught this to me as a kid this is so cool thanks for bringing those awesome memories keep the videos coming you should try this as a bracelet with a shackle or snap clasp that would be cool
I carry a deck of knot practice/reference cards (bound together by a corner rivet) and 6' of cord (with one end through that rivet). If anyone would like to race their "Daisy Chain Sinnet" time against my "Wrap the cord around the cards like a spool" time, let me know. :)
I was trying to remember how to do this a couple of weeks ago. We never got into it but we started doing a little hojojutsu at ninjutsu, we only got as far as this daisy chain attached to a kusarigama, so we could through one loop, so we could use the weight at the end to throw and unravel it, then tie someone up ^_^ Speaking of, I need to find the lengths of cord I have, lawd knows where they are. They didn't come done up like this, they were tied up differently that I couldn't work out, so they're just loose cords in a drawer somewhere atm. Gotta find them and at least neaten them up for easy access ^_^
I learned this one when I was 20 years old. We used it to roll up long extension cords without kinking them. The funny part was if you didn't know how it's done, it would take forever to undo 😂

AKA, crochet chain stitch. Great way to shorten cords, including electrical cords.
As an electrician I have to say this is horrible for electric cords if you pull it tight. Has to be very loose to not damage the conductors.
@@RobertRogerification of course. But done correctly it’s a great way to shorten very long cords and keep them from tangling.
Back when I worked at a bowling alley, we had a 250ft orange extension cord for the lane waxer. This was exactly how we stored it that cord.

Saw this on most jobs I was on for the extra cords not being used. Made me think of European bread back then and now I am hungry...

Hey bro, glad I could bring those memories back for you! Will do for sure, thanks for all your support!

SMH
I use this method for extension cords.
i have done the single daisy chain many times but never thought about multiplying the number of strands, brilliant idea. kudos.
Yeah I do my 100' extension cord like that nice
This is also called the finger crochet technique
I love the Daisy Chain.
This is the method I use when I'm busy. If I'm not busy I sit down and wrap it up in a nice looking quick deploy bundle.

I made a bracelet with that 🪢
So sad, I thought I invented this, like nobody told me it was used in multiple different things, Oh well.
