I have a 2007 vulcan and you gave me many good tips and interesting subject matter. I've learned about my bike. I don't have the same problems you are, but it gave me greater knowledge of my bike. Thanks.
I've owned three nomads.....they were all great bikes. Just keep them serviced and ride them and you won't have any problems. The last one I had clocked over 60,000 miles, rode it all over the east coast, it loved the mountains with it's fuel injected motor.
just got an 05 21,000 clean as a whistle sold my road warrior 01 vulcan 1200, treated me very well. love the nomad rides great, very comfortable, nice balance, going through gears is a blast, sounds great, nice machine
I have an old Yamaha royal star I have been doing the same thing a few different times the last few years. Owned it for ten years, sold it and got it back for 500 when the guy I sold it to had it break down and left it. About to jump back into it as watching this has me going again
Thanks for this video i was at local dealer last week looking at a brand new 2006 model just like this its a left over thy never sold it thy said its never had the liquid added to it the tanks never had gas in it the battery never had the acid added to it brand new out box setting on show room thy marked it close to 18 thousand its like 17999 price tag on it i looked it up in 2006 it was 10 thousand dollar s brand new but inflation added its equivalent to 17999 in today money
Just clipping ends on sparkplug wires..... Is that your final answer ??? I have 03 nomad. I would like to chat about a couple problems I have. You seem sharp . I be been a mechanic my entire adult life but colorblind and wiring sucks on this bike👍
i cant do this anymore to much no patience no more not much anyway ive had my share with it over 38 years dont mind tinkering fixin etc but i.m just worn out
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures I have an 06 nomad twin to that bike and had the same problem. Bought aftermarket relay spent days trying to figure it out. Changed it for oem part and had no more problems.

Well I’m glad your bike is working well. They are pretty good machines.

Once I sorted this one out it was a real beauty. I just didn’t have room for it or I would have definitely kept it.

They are really nice machines. I wish I had room to keep it but I eventually sold it. Might end up with another one if I have room!
Mine is a 07 1600 nomad. I paid$1,800. It has a few more bells and whistles than this one. I love it, runs great rides great.
Ryan Baker the deals are out there!
Didja check out the ecm=engine control module
There’s really not much/any troubleshooting on those, and they are expensive. It ended up being a very cheap part to fix it.
Tom, I’m looking at a $1000 Nomad tomorrow. I hope to get it going with some basic wiring repair. We shall see....
Just Plain Common Sense awesome! Please let me know how it turns out.
You have waaay more patience than I do. My brother had one of these. Great bikes.
azdesertdog I enjoy a challenge. This bike has tested my limits!

kwlambright I wish you good luck getting it going again. Let me know how it turns out.
When i bought mine i found the coil wires on the wrong coils. Once i put them on correctly ran like a top
Makes you wonder what the previous owner was thinking?
I wanna buy one for 4k on Saturday I hope mine works great
@@rayslife4k this was a pretty nice bike, I bet it would be great to cross the country on one.
did you check the shut-off switch on the handlebars?
Numerous times. I eventually figured it out if you watch the follow on videos.....

Absolutely no way I would spend that much! Interesting that a 2006 model sat around unsold for that long.
What is the diffenrence between of vn 1600 or vn 1600 nomad.and classic? Or are they all same?
Nomad comes with hard bags and windshield. Otherwise all pretty much the same mechanically.
VN stands for Vulcan Nomad.
@@jamesshenay3426 I'd beg to differ, since the Vulcan model was made in 1985 as the VN750 well before the first Nomad was produced in the late 90's.
Have you checked the fuses
Yes, fuses were the first thing
what year is it? I am going to look at the schematic.
Alan sterling 2006. The plot has thickened since this video was produced. Call me sometime, you’re gonna love it.
Working on a 96 Vulcan 1500 now I got for $300
Similar engine, but that won't be fuel injected. I think it was still a four speed then as well. Good machines.
Hi! Can you share the manual you are using there, please? Thank you
You can do an internet search and probably find one, I no longer have it.
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures I tried but I didn't get it. Thanks anyway
@@silvianaviliat7444 I may have got it from a Vulcan forum group? Always worth a try.
The tip over switch.
Nope!

Where do you download your manuals?
Ask on forums.
Did you ever get it going?

you figure it out

I am having that problem now
i ride mine at 100 all day.
I only rode this one in the neighborhood before I sold it, don't think I got it over 50 mph. Seemed like a good highway machine.
ECU.....
Nope. I did solve it after a while, video is on my channel.
