  • Beth was a single mom going to school when she was diagnosed with Goodpasture disease. When her treatments were unsuccessful, she was put on dialysis and then told she needed a kidney transplant.
Scott was on social media one day and came across a tweet of someone asking for a life-saving kidney donor. He thought to himself, “I can do that.” and decided he wanted to become an altruistic donor. Although he was unable to donate to that family he read about, he quickly began the evaluation process and a recipient was found.
Beth was losing hope waiting for a kidney, and then received the phone call just three days before her wedding, telling her that a complete stranger was going to donate his kidney to her. After her successful surgery, Beth’s life has changed forever. Scott was fully recovered and is grateful he was able to give one of thousands of people on the wait list, a new kidney and the chance to live a better life.
