I love hearing about the history of my ancestors! And as soon as the Yellowstone starts to thaw I will be doing many hikes! You have inspired me to get back into it! Thanks Tom!
Just got back to my beautiful home in Wales after an AWESOME 4 day bushcrafting holiday in a forest in Wales 😊 what better way to chill than our FAVOURITE Norseman on UA-cam 👍👍 Much love from your friends in Wales UK Ritchie veteran and Raven xxxx
Thank you for these moments in the forrest,,. Here in West Yorkshire, we've had so few nice days in the last few months,.. rain most days, and many storms,, I really miss my walks in the woods, so, I'm glad to share the time with you,, All the very best my friends,, 😊🐶😊🐶,
I’m glad you could come with us out into my forest and enjoy your afternoon together with Cornelius and me 🤗 Thanks for the feedback my friend and I hope to see you again soon 🐕🏕🔥🌲 Tom
I never knew that all the Nordic countries shared one language during prehistory only to evolve later! And I also didn't know you could understand the other dialects; how interesting! Other than that you're historical perspective is pretty much spot on, from the academic references I've encountered. I know the Danes were a huge political force and basically united much of the Nordic tribes at one point, which also played out later and was pivotal in Western European history ( your national flags are bare testament to this). Also, I thoroughly enjoy your dedication to historicity when it comes to your traditional gear. I don't know of anyone else who does what you do and is an absolute pleasure to watch you bring forth a period Iron Age man in the beautiful Danish forest! You are certainly a National Treasure for your country and your people!
Thank you so much David for your kind words 🤗 it warms my heart and makes me grateful for having you around. I’m so glad you enjoyed my new video and found it interesting and helpful. Thanks again for your kindness and support 👍🏻😁🐕 Tom
Great video Tom! I too love Pork Tenderloin just like Cornelius! LOL I make it from time to time as well. Always a great location to film in the wild forest! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Tom! A great speech about viking people, but I keep the good feeling existing between all nordisk people (Danishes, swedish, etc.) it is great the big union of all of them. I like a lot your environment from this video Tom. A big hug for you and Cornelius.
Hi Tom👍👍 Always nice to be with you in the forest along with Cornelius enjoying a fire and meal with special coffee😉 Cornelius certainly enjoyed his portion of the tenderloin so it must have met his approval. Learning about the different nations of the Vikings was very enlightening, informative and interesting, thank you. Always learning on your channel. Great video, much appreciated. See you next time.
Looks to have been a peaceful getaway. Most people have forgotten the Caroleon period of Sweden and the days of the great Danish Navy after the Viking period. When my grandfather and his parents imigrated to the US they were really returning to a Swedish colonial area.
Hey Tom, that was a very fun adventure out in the forest. I'm out in my tent in the forest myself. it's raining, so I'm stuck in the tent, but I'm having my coffee and enjoying your video. I see Cornelius was having a great time as well. he likes to steal your firewood😂😂. well, my brother I hope you and Cornelius have a great day and I will see you on the next adventure Dwayne
Hey Tom, very lucky time in front of the fire with meat and a beer, wow! I love your very authentic and relaxing videos! 😍 Skal from 🇨🇭 Here in Switzerland, Helvetic we have roots from the north. But fortunately 15th century we has a lot of super Christian men that have preached Christianity without force. And the helevetic people has been known as very strong against the Romans.
tom, cornelius, viking friends i just noticed how big cornelius has gotten time passes so quick. like the music sets the mood hollywood always gets things wrong when it comes to history it's just the way they are. if they would be botherd to open some history books they would find it more fascinating and it a more interesting story your people boy they were busy and interesting until next time take care🐉🐕
I bought a Svea stove after watching one of your videos. Now I light it and make coffee when I watch your videos. I love your channel. Keep up the good work. You'll have a million subscribers before you know it.
Beautiful video, and the food looked delicious! Thanks for sharing the Viking information 👍 It’s always great seeing you and Cornelius out there enjoying the beautiful forest! And that knife and sheath are so gorgeous!
Omg, watching Cornelius eat apples is the most wholesome and satisfying thing I’ve seen in a long, long time, lol. I have ancestors in all of those Viking nations on my Dad’s side. We can trace back to the mid 700s. I also have one ancestor who moved to Kiev from Sweden in the 700s, and have that Kievan Rus ancestry too. I enjoyed learning a bit more about my Viking heritage. You honor our ancestors with everything you do in these videos. Such beautiful scenery too! Skål, Tom!
Thank you so much for your kind words Lily 🤗 and great to hear that you also have Viking blood in your veins 💪🏻🇩🇰🇳🇴🇸🇪 and honour your ancestors. Thanks for following us on our adventures 🏕🔥🌲🐕 Tom
Hej Tom and Mr. Cornelius 🐕Looks like you could use some of the snow we received here on this past weekend. 150 cm in some parts 😫It's like a good old fashion winter again. Great spending time with you two. Take care and stay strong💪
Wow that’s a lot of snow Daryl 😳🌨️ 👍🏻 We had a bit snow yesterday so the ground is white again here in my area. Thanks for dropping by again my friend 🤗🐕🏕🔥 Tom
Hello Tom! I enjoy all your videos, but the ones I really love are the ones you teach about your culture and history. For me, as a guy from the other side of the planet, its exciting to learn about the Viking world. Thanks for your videos and please keep on doing this great job! Best regards from Argentina
Hi Tom Billy from Kansas again. I really enjoyed this video and hearing some of the Viking History that you shared! Cornelius is such an awesome little guy. I just love him! Congratulations on the 100,000 subscribers! Keep making these VERY enjoyable and informative videos , please! Billy.
Sniff, I am so proud of Cornelius for getting that piece of wood from you. :) HEHEHE he is such a good lil bandit. that meat looked pretty tasty, thanks for the video and info on Vikings.
I'm doing the same! My heritage is Welsh, and my dad always used to tell me that we were the only ones that Vikings never conquered in England. Tom has inspired me to learn more about my Heritage and I have some gear put together that is like my ancestors (a home made wool Ruanan cloak, deer pelt, flint/steel, and wool leggins) it's just a start but transition to traditional gear is very different than modern bushcrafting/camping which I've been doing for about 20 years now. I don't want to mention links on this channel because it would be rude and don't want to hijack Tom's Channel, but the information is out there. Use your search engine for "traditional saxon/english camping/rituals" and you'll get leads to other things! _Pob lwc - Tar!_
Thank you for the history lesson Tom! It was great to see you drop a video today, especially since I am stuck indoors today dealing with 50-70 mile an hour winds here in Northern California.
I am fascinated by the wicker bottom pack and the wooden frame topper for it. Your self made gear is wonderful and I am interested in making some myself. I tried to access your diy site but google says it is unsecured because of the http instead of the https. Another great video under your belt and I enjoyed hearing about the history of our folk. Love Cornelius and his guarding the camp again. Skal
That’s right Erik 🤔 my website isn’t “secure “ but safe to open 😉👍🏻 So you can go in and watch it without any problem … hope you’ll enjoy it 🏕🔥🌲🐕🇩🇰 Tom
hello Tom, magnificent video once again.... like me you find beautiful moments of peace it's really superb.... I sincerely hope that our paths will cross once who knows maybe 🙏🙏... . best regards from Daniel swiss mountainman 😉👍
Great history lesson, Tom. I also read that the Vikings went down to the Loire Valley in France, and others to the Mediterranean. From your knowledge, do you know if that was the Danes as well? Great video. I guess I should add that in this book, they settled there.
I have a dog very similar to yours. She is a Scottish Border Terrier from what I can gather. She is 13 years old and she is my best friend. I take her everywhere as well. I find her company better than most humans. I will be lost when she leaves one day. I really love that girl.😊
It's ironic that the namesake of my family, Brian Boru, was killed by Vikings over a thousand years ago, yet you and I can be distant friends, more or less. It's not a bad thing. I have enjoyed our comments back and forth over the years, Tom.
@@terrysmith4831 he was King of all Ireland in his day, and I haven't established a direct bloodline, but many, many people are descended from him. That's what O'Brien means: descendant of Brian. The spelling got distorted from the Gaelic "ua Briainn".
Another Great Day In The Woods!!! Awesome!! Thank You For Sharing Your History, Way Of Life, Meal and Drink, Your Gear, and Your Peace!!! The Gods' Blessings Be On You!! Stay Strong Live Long!!
I see you and Cornelius lost your snow. Nice to see you out in the forest. The pork looked fabulous 👌. Cornelius didn't complain about your cooking 😂. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week. See you next time Tom.🇺🇲🔪🔥🌲
My wife and I are both avid history nuts and we enjoy your videos. This one we found interesting and informative. I think many people don't realize the difference between the cultures and throw all Vikings into one category. The closest I came to your country is Iceland. My squadron operated out of Keflavik for five months. Keep the videos coming.
Sometimes we call it cowboy coffee. Strain the grounds through pine needles stuck in the spout of the pot or just out of a cooker like yours. Full flavored and good. Great little day camp/cookout. Channel has grown another 1000 subscribers. Share and like. Good history lesson from a Dane. 1st hand knowledge. Much enjoyed the traditional way of doing things. Much as how I grew up in East Kentucky USA. Then a coal mining area in the Appalachian mountains. Beautiful forest, no snow.
Thanks for your feedback Sam 😁👍🏻and sharing this info with me. I’m glad you are following us here in Denmark 🇩🇰 and I appreciate having you onboard 🏕🔥🌲🐕 Tom
My father taught me after the coffee is done pour a little water around the top to settle the grounds to the bottom, And then add a little butter to take away the bitterness we call this camp fire coffee.
Hello, I just ran across your channel and as my mother and brother have been doing my family's geneology, we have found a startling history of my Grandfather's family lines. We have found that we are related so someone named Rolf who was the first Duke of Normandy. We are also related to someone named William Long Sword and quite a few others such as William the Bastard, William the Conqueor and a lot of other Viking Nobility. We are aways looking for more information on these relatives to learn more about our family's heritage. Strangely, when I was a child in grammar school I used to love reading all of the books in the school library on the Normands and other medieval books. I read every book that library had, lol. It's very interesting investigating my Viking heritage. Thanks for your channel.
You’re welcome my friend 😁👍🏻and glad you want to follow me on my journey into Norse history and culture 🏕🔥🇩🇰. Congratulation on the results of the test 👍🏻then you also have some Viking blood in your veins 💪🏻🇩🇰🇳🇴🇸🇪 Tom
Love ❤ your channel! So relaxing to “be in the open” with you! And your topics are so interesting. I adore your gear! I wish I could be doing this myself; I will need to plan & then enjoy! Be safe! Thank you, from the tiny little old mill village of Manville in the town of Lincoln, located in Rhode Island, USA! Skål! 🇺🇸 🇩🇰 ⚡️
My people (the Cornish) were at one time allied to the Danish Vikings. Fighting the English in the 800's together, then again guiding a large (4000) Danish force to raid the burgh of Lydford in 997 and the abbey of Tavistock before overwintering in East Cornwall and then returning home. To this day the place they landed and marched inland is known as 'Danescombe' (Danish Valley). Interesting video as always.
Thanks for sharing this interesting information with us 😁👍🏻 I didn’t know that … so perhaps we’re brothers Thanks for following us on our journey 🐕🏕🔥 Tom 🇩🇰

After my knowledge it was danish Vikings 🇩🇰
Bjorn Ironside who was the son of Ragnar 💪🏻😉was one of the persons that went there 🏕🔥
Tom
Another outstanding video Tom.
Thanks James 😁👍🏻I’m so glad you enjoyed it
Atb to you 🏕🔥🌲🐕
Tom
Not far from where i Live the Deens plundered a town called Maastricht in 881 ...
Sorry for that Hans 😇 and I hope you can forgive my ancestor 😆
Appreciate your feedback a lot 🏕🔥🐕
Tom
Perfect way to start the day! Thank you sir for the time and love you put into these.
Thanks Jeff 🤗 that means a lot to me 👍🏻
See you soon 🐕🏕🔥
Tom
I have a dog very similar to yours. She is a Scottish Border Terrier from what I can gather. She is 13 years old and she is my best friend. I take her everywhere as well. I find her company better than most humans. I will be lost when she leaves one day. I really love that girl.😊
Yeah I know that feeling and I also fear the day I have to part from my little companion 😔🐕but hopefully it’ll first be in many years 🤗🐶
Tom
Sorry, missed saying I’m in on the previous video. Cornelius does a pretty good job sticking around.
Ha ha that’s right John 😆🐕👍🏻 but you have to write I’m in … under the GAW video 😁👍🏻
Tom
Congratulations Tom on the major achievement of 100,000. Well earned!
Thanks a lot my friend 🤗 that’s so kind of you
See you soon 🏕🔥🐕
Tom
It's ironic that the namesake of my family, Brian Boru, was killed by Vikings over a thousand years ago, yet you and I can be distant friends, more or less. It's not a bad thing. I have enjoyed our comments back and forth over the years, Tom.
That’s right Dennis 😉 and glad to have you as a friend 🤗 and appreciate your kindness very much 🐕
Tom
It's truly astonishing that you are able to trace your ancestors back that far. 👍
Yeah that’s right 😉👍🏻
@@terrysmith4831 he was King of all Ireland in his day, and I haven't established a direct bloodline, but many, many people are descended from him. That's what O'Brien means: descendant of Brian. The spelling got distorted from the Gaelic "ua Briainn".
😉👍🏻 okay
I tried to learn Danish, it was a difficult.
Yeah I guess it’s not easy Charles 😆😉🇩🇰 but I’m glad you tried
Tom 🏕🔥🌲🐕

Tom
My wife and I are both avid history nuts and we enjoy your videos. This one we found interesting and informative. I think many people don't realize the difference between the cultures and throw all Vikings into one category. The closest I came to your country is Iceland. My squadron operated out of Keflavik for five months. Keep the videos coming.
Glad you found it interesting 😁👍🏻 and appreciate your kind feedback very much 🤗
Thanks for following us on our journey into 🐕Norse culture 🏕🔥🇩🇰

I’m in! When visiting with your “special friend”, does he have a particular name?
Sorry, I didn’t watch till the end of the video before I asked my question.
You have to write “I’m in” below the video where I present my GAW 😉👍🏻
Hey Tom, what a nice little adventure in the Forest with you & Cornelius.
Thanks Uwe 🤗 and good to see you again in the forest 🔥🏕🐕
Tom
I’m glad you are following us here in Denmark 🇩🇰 and I appreciate having you onboard 🏕🔥🌲🐕
Tom
My father taught me after the coffee is done pour a little water around the top to settle the grounds to the bottom, And then add a little butter to take away the bitterness we call this camp fire coffee.
That’s great 😁👍🏻 and sounds interesting and delicious 😋 Thanks for sharing this with us Donald 😉🏕🔥🌲🐕
Tom
Very beautiful greens in your forest. Looks like spring has sprung for most of us. Thank you for the interesting history and bringing us along.
Glad you enjoyed it my friend 😁👍🏻 and good to see you out in the green forest 🏕🔥🐕

Congratulation on the results of the test 👍🏻then you also have some Viking blood in your veins 💪🏻🇩🇰🇳🇴🇸🇪

Thanks for sharing this interesting information with us 😁👍🏻 I didn’t know that … so perhaps we’re brothers
Thanks for following us on our journey 🐕🏕🔥
