That is really cool Silver Forever. Well done with that Tier Maker. Well though out rankings as well.
Thanks Sal !! 🔥 Would love to see your rankings also!
Sal actually did a fantastic video with his own rankings, so I made a playlist! (Thanks DebonairDylan for the playlist suggestion)
ua-cam.com/play/PLRTNF71I_KTWHjjpTGrEEvm6nd5rmsnsx.html
I also added a video from another popular creator who decided to use the exact same idea and make a very similar template after we posted our videos in his Discord!
Yeh im geting really sick of the premiums on these silver coins the silver price is low now but the premium is still so fucking high.
Hey folks, a couple viewers pointed out a few mistakes here:
(1.) The Krugerrand has PAUL Kruger on the obverse, not James Kruger (who was a different South African politician)
(2.) The RCM began using Mint Shield in 2018--not 2016.
(3.) Kruggerands (2018-on) have _at least_ one security feature: the word KRUGERRAND in small print on the mountains under the back legs of the springbok!
Always learning!
🗽WOW I THOUGHT THAT WAS FREDDIE KRUGER
Dude, you took the words right out of my mouth. i always sell silver privately in Australia and people won't buy milk spotted coins. I got so mad at a dealer one day because he said milk spots don't matter. When you spend $1000 plus on silver and get a tube of milk spotted coins its fucking annoying. I know for a fact the kangaroo coins at the Perth mint arent inspected so i refuse to buy them now .
I would replace the Libertad in the A tier. I'd drop the ASE to the D tier as you will NEVER recoup the premiums on them. I'd move the Maple Leaf down one tier, and for me the Britannia is the only S tier coin, great design, high secuity, low premiums.
Fair enough! I really love the Britannia and planned to put it in S-tier, but I got a bit miffed recently after some of my Royal Mint products started milking pretty badly, that's really the only advantage of the RCM maple.
You're goofy
2018+ Maples and 2021+ Brits are my go-to’s for stacking. Great vid!
Great choices! I want to see your tier rankings!
@@SilverForeverX - I did a similar vid a couple of months ago, but not in the format you used. It’s the trailer vid, if you go to my channel. But, I might have to try this way, too!
Watching now! I was already subscribed so I don't think the trailer vid shows for me... but I found the Top 11 video anyway!
@@SilverForeverX - It was one of my earlier vids, when I was trying to find my footing in all this!
Britannia are my favorite. Best security measures of all coins, one of most affordable coins and I like the design.
I didn't like the Vienna Philharmonic at first. It looked some kind of cheap compared to other coins. But now that I own it, my opinion changed. The surface is very shiny, not as good as a proof coin but very high quality. I like the font and details of the relief. The relief is very strong (pronounced height difference) and the details are nicely rounded. The coin reminds me of scandinavian design which is known for looking uncluttered without missing art elements or looking cheap. All 1 oz Vienna Philharmonics (gold, silver, platin) have the same diameter of 37 mm. I like that.
I have to admit that the Vienna Philharmonic has grown on on me over time. I don't have a 1 oz gold Phil, but I'm very interested to get one to see how the edges are. I also like that they share the same diameter. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Andre!
I would move the Philharmonic up a tier. They have the lowest premium of sovereign mints.
Well done! I agree with every rating you made! Your logic is very good as well and this will definitely help people to see how you analyze the various coins and factor in the most important details of both buying and selling silver! Awesome!
Thanks, Mason! Glad to have you on the channel
LIBERTAD is the most beautiful silver coin.
Maybe I'll have to do a tier ranking for the most beautiful silver coins! Libertad would be toward the top of my list for sure!
Is it because Libertad has Boobies?
They are nice but the premium’s make it not worth it. I will say its nicer then the american silver eagle but maples are my favorite!
Agreed 😊
I agree with your choice for the Maple leaf number one and the main reason being is the sealant technology that they put in their coin to prevent Milk, spotting, which is the chemical reaction in the processing in silver coming out just like effervescent coming out of brick masonry walls. And I find that their premium has been below everyone else’s premium!
I keep hearing people in the USA saying American Silver Eagles are the most recognized silver coin in the world. Meanwhile I rarely see them outside the USA, but see a ton of RCM and Perth Mint coins.
Hmm... I'm gonna have to look into this one! It would not surprise me!
Remember, For Americans they are the world
Here in Canada, ASE are rare, not very much popular and also 20-30% more then a Silver Maple Leaf, which is available, literally, everywhere you can buy a coin.
Great series. Many thanks for the videos.
I totally understand what you’re saying about the Royal Canadian Maples, I stocked them all the time I bought tubes. They’re my favorite, I’ll be getting some more
It seems like a great choice to me!
I've just recently have gotten back into stacking and I found this to be very informative and I agree on the RCM Maple Leaf. After viewing this video, I had to look up what Milk Spots are and better understand it.
A few switches aside we agree, I’d have to say through this year alone the maples and Roos have shot way up in my rankings.
Good video, and Happy Thanksgiving 👊🔱
Happy Thanksgiving Trident! Finally got my first Barbados trident coming soon!
The Britannia's are so sick. I got a gold 1 oz recently and its amazing the quality and the features it offers. Really puts the American Eagle to shame IMO.
I totally agree.. If I hadn't just found some spotting on my Brits, maybe I would have made them S-tier also? I love the gold version too, I did a video about the 2021 Brits a few months back: ua-cam.com/video/yPBOAUWj7XU/v-deo.html
@@SilverForeverX When I saw the coin I knew I needed to have it. I was shocked to find that premiums on it were quite low, similar to the maple leaf. And with all those features to boot its amazing. But it makes me even more frustrated/disappointed in the US mint for just releasing a new eagle with little to no security features. Not to mention the maple leaf and the brit have polished surfaces on the coin with burnished in other places. It makes for a gorgeous contrast.
Best of luck out there! It's getting crazy!
Couldn't agree more! Next to the 4 solid security features of the Brit, a missing reed is pretty underwhelming...
I stack Silver Maples in Canada. It's $29.97/oz . They're beautiful coins. I have a tube. I love the security features. I'm going to keep buying while the price is low.
Sounds like a good plan to me!
Is there a place that sells them in ottawa for a good price
@@mapleleaves2289 I'd have to imagine you could find Maples at almost any LCS in Canada. I recommend calling around to some local shops! Good luck!

Great informative video! 👍

Like the video you put some good thought into it. The silver eagle I think is ranked to high only because of the premiums it feels more like they have them priced more like a collector coin then a stacking coin
Yeah I was second guessing it towards the end. The truth is I haven't been stacking ASEs lately because the spread is just too big to justify
Thanks for the advice on the maple leaf . Just bought 40 pieces !
That's great! I think the maples are a great choice for me, hopefully you feel the same way. At the end of the day, you have to make your own decisions for your own stack!
I’ve stopped buying the Silver Eagles because of the premium being too high. It’s been Britannia, Maple Leafs and Krugerrand for me. Truth is dealers will always try to low blow you when you’re selling back. It’s better to be close to spot price from the beginning. I agree, the ASE type 2 is freaking ugly. So no rush here to buy the ASE type 2 here.
Smart move. I've been thinking a lot about it and I'm not sure that the ASE makes the cut for A-tier in 2021, _especially_ for stacking...
Yeh im geting really sick of the premiums on these silver coins the silver price is low now but the premium is still so fucking high.
@@Michael-vf5id I just went to my local coin dealer yesterday to buy some silver but he didn’t have anything on the shelves except for buffalo rounds and three Britannia 1oz. I bought the three Britannia and three 🦬 rounds. Truth is I believe the dealers are hiding their inventory when the prices are low to protect their initial investment.
@@billydkid1881 I agree totally they are getting really greedy of late. I wanted some silver 1oz cast bars over here in australia the have 60 then the silver price dropped and the same day the bars were gone then a week later they put the same bars back up again once the price stabilized to be honest i hate bullion dealers because they are just ripping people off atm i mean the silver price is low yet over in australia we are still paying $42 for one silver coin its crazy.
New sub here, I think you did a really good job here
Thanks for the sub and Welcome to the community!
I agree. I have purchased over 700 ounces of the Maples since mid-September. I do like all the coins in your video. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! That's no joke! Hopefully the timing has worked out and you were able to purchase near the bottom. I generally like to dollar cost average over time, but hopefully you were able to stack heavy as the price of silver was low. Time will tell!
you got a Canadian monster running around your house eh?

I agree with the s tier ky favorite and most predominantly stacked bullion coin. Even the fractional gold ones im in love with
This was great! I call it “the Beauty Pageant of Bullion by Silver Forever”.
This made me think of what I’ll stack in 2022. I only started stacking in January of this year and completed a few ASE tubes and one tube each of the Maple, the Brit, and the Krugerrand (which is underrated with its clean & simple appearance and usually low premium). Everything except the ASEs are in Air-Tites so I haven’t noticed any milk spotting...yet.
I never got around to getting Philharmonics or Kangaroos because the designs to me were “meh”. I’m not bothered by the Queen since she’s never done anything to me personally, but I don’t buy any coins from China-but that’s me. To each his (or her or “them”😂) own.
Ok-diatribe over. again, great post S.F.‼️
The more I've thought about it since making this, I almost wish I had switched the ASE and Krug at the A/B tier levels. It's great to have ASEs in the stack, but I think it's extra important to compare the spread (buy premium - sell premium) for bullion stacking; for that reason, I anticipate I won't be stacking too many ASEs in 2022. I am glad that I have some Type1 AND Type2 ASEs from 2021, because they are likely to be more desirable in the distant future.
I have to say that I think the Phil looks much better in hand, but of course they can milk up pretty bad. Also, you'd be surprised at the milk spotting that can occur, even in a slab!
I think the Britannia will rise in comparison with the others when QE2 passes, though I personally wish her long life and think Prince C will make a dreadful king.
I would have to agree with your assessment without much argument for the reasons you stated. Well done.
I agree with everything except the Kangaroo. It needs to be in the "A" tier. They are much better than the new Silver Eagles. Great Video.
My kangaroos are just so milky, although other Perth pieces I have aren't so bad.. I remember the first time I tried to look for the security feature on the kangaroo and I couldn't find it in the (supposedly) right location.. I was freaking out for a few seconds before I found the right A for that year!
If Australia wasn't turning into Nazi Germany......
@@SilverForeverX today I was putting some silver i have gotten in the last few months into the safe and man, my 2021 Kangaroos are already getting milky.
@@dylanfoveaux3256 I'm not the only one!
Great video so I made my own version based on my thoughts!
AWESOME! I'll check it out!
Silver Seeker just did one and showed your video!
@@SilverForeverX Wow, I just watched it!
Your ranking is pretty accurate.
Thanks! I've already been reconsidering a bit, I think I might drop the ASE and potentially raise the Brit, just because this is 2021-focused.
Perfect Rating
Thanks Vikas!
I should have downgraded the Eagle!
Mapple leaf would be a C for me because always the same design. A would be the australian lunar series for me.
Thanks for sharing @stern13!
I agree. The leaf design is the most classy. Simple, elegant and beautiful. The Britannia doesn’t look bad either.
💯
Your buddy was right about the libertads
definitely an emotional decision!
I agree with your reasoning, the libertard had a higher premium since i started in 2016, although is beautiful and i always wanted one, it took me a while to get one, so I bought one in like 2018-2019.
Id like to have couple more but would not stack them at that price.
I say Maples are the silver coin to stack. Rcm in general is just better than all the rest in the silver market. However the kookaburra should have been on the list too even though it's a semi numismatic I think it's a great coin to stack.
Hey Clean Money Congrats on breaking 10k!
I only have 1 kookaburra but they are NICE coins, I'm looking to pick up some more. It was hard to pick a decent list and keep it to 10, but I'll try a semi-numismatic tier ranking soon!
@@SilverForeverX oh no worries brother. I think it's a great list.
Silver eagles are too expensive, you won't be able to get back the huge premium! And the design could really use a refresh!!Maple and brits my way!
Good choices A J! The more I think about it, I'd be surprised if I leave the ASE in the A-tier next year
video just came up in my feed. new to all this but so far i agree with this list. maple is one of my all time favorites, ase is nice but to pricy to justify vs what the leaf puts out, brit i would like to have just for the secure of wealth. i had a rando 20 ordered from sd last month which was a sale of fed backed coins and they sent me 15 new zealand mint turtles and 5 krugs. i wasnt sure if i wanted krugs but after getting em i want to fill a tube just to have a tube. so far for just getting into stacking i feel the leaf is just gonna be one of the solid picks for me to stack the most.
Wow, the Niue turtles? You lucked out with the random order! The Krugerrands are actually a very nice coin in my opinion and are growing on me over time. I also agree that the ASEs are just too pricey right now to justify, so I probably shouldn't have had them in the A-tier for 2021. One interesting factoid about the Krugerrand.. they have a couple of security features! Look under the back right leg of the springbok and you can find the word "KRUGERRAND" in tiny lettering on the mountain range!
Welcome to the world of stacking & good on you for doing some research to make the best decisions for your own situation! Silver Forever!
I agree, love the maple leaf
Such great coins!
As I own the Brittania, Silver Eagle, Maple leaf and Krugerrand- all seem to have done reasonably well. Sad to see the Austrian Philharmonic coin (I also own) do so poorly in your assessment. A good-looking coin in my opinion and I would have placed it higher. That said, the other assessments seem fair. Flaxen Saxon.
If the Phils had reeded edges, I'd boost up the grade. I know because I made the world's first reeded edge Philharmonic in one of videos from last year haha
I'm new to your channel...from St. Louis Mo.,💯
Welcome here.. FOREVER!
,I don't disagree with your choices. I usually go for a couple of you S and A and the rest with B, C and D just for stacking and randomness. Great video!
If you don't disagree... sounds like we agree!
I agree with your placements except I'd change places with the Roo and Phil. The milk spot issue and the around the edge design cause the Kangaroo to drop on my list. Of the six major ones here worth stacking, the Roo is the last of all that I'm accumulating a tube.
I plan to do this every year, so it'll be interested to see how my rankings change over time. Good luck filling those tubes GE TX!
@@SilverForeverX Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
🦃
Excellent analysis of these coins 🪙 I agree with all your assessments which you back up with hard evidence. The only coin rating I disagree with was the Austrian Philharmonic which I believe due to its very low premium and price should move it into the B category.
One other thing . . . You forgot the Silver Queens Beast Completer coin which I think although is a 2oz coin deserves a good look. I think it should be in the A group because of its magnificent unique design. Most dealers are having a hard time getting them in the US and Australia and if your lucky enough to score some should offer great future appreciation due to the unique design and scarcity vs. most other top tier silver sovereigns.
Thanks for the thoughtful assessment, @Mark Sabatino! I had to keep it to 10 coins, so I only chose the most standard bullion coins from each country. Check out my other videos and you'll find I also really like the QB completers! I even have the kilo coin, which I show off here: ua-cam.com/video/kTbySPo3Has/v-deo.html
I think you nailed it, although I am currently boycotting the American silver eagle altogether.
Ya know, I probably should have downgraded the ASE in this one, just because this was specific to 2021. ASE's are still a big part of my stack, and I did buy some Type 1 and Type 2 this year, but they are definitely not A-tier for bullion stacking in 2021... Thanks for stopping by Louie!
I agree with those ranks
💯%
I love the maple leaf I have a bunch of these
Maples are a great choice. I just wish premiums weren't so wild on the coins now! I've been stacking bars lately
Wow wasn't expecting to agree with every decision 👍
When it comes to global recognize-ability -- the maple leaf is a simple design and has low premiums 👍
What are the odds?! Awesome!
My favorite coins ASE, Maple, Britannias, Kangaroos, Philharmonic then last but not least Krugerrand ... all the others to high of a premiums... ASE is my top but are on hold for me because of that premium.. very well put together video... for me it is all dollar cost averaging in sovereign coins.. rounds are a whole different story! 🇺🇸👍
I imagine my preferences will continue to change over the years.. at this point, I prefer sovereign coins to rounds because they have been slow close in price. I think your top 6 are the best options generally for bullion stacking
@@SilverForeverX totally what I'm trying to accomplish! Maybe when I reach my goal I will start accumulating the fancy stuff! 🤗🇺🇸👍
It's been Maples and 90% for me this year .
Really great choices! I'm doing a 90% tier ranking in the next couple weeks, template's already made!
I actually agree 100%, with the exception that I would give the Canadian maple leaf an S- because of the queen's face
Then we do agree 100%!
@@SilverForeverX lol
I enjoyed the whole vlog thanks for sharing to us my friend please stay connected always😍
Thanks for visiting
Britannias are my favorite, followed by the maples. I also have a 10 oz Britannia coin, quite a few 1 oz coins, a few 1/10 oz gold coins, and I even got a tube of the 1/10 oz silver coins, despite the high premium. I would like to get the 1/4 oz silver and a 1/10 oz platinum, as well as all the sizes of gold. I absolutely love this coin.
It's a fantastic coin. I have the 1 oz silver, 1 oz gold, 1/10 oz gold, and 10 oz silver coin also. Not sure I even showed that one on the channel yet. I also picked up a 10 oz Britannia bar. It's truly an amazing coin, BUT the milk spots have been really rough on my 2021 and that was why I chose Maples as S-tier.
I love the Canadian 1 1/2 oz silver coin with animals in back. Gorgeous coins !
Yeah I have a few of the grizzlies myself! Great products from the RCM
I agrees with the maple and ase and Brit’s but disagree with the tad I definitely think it should be in a Tier but great video 😎👍🏻
Thanks, Patriotic Stacker! I definitely have reconsidered a few things since originally making this video. Feel free to use the template to make your own tier ranking video (link in description). I've been really digging your interview series lately. Cheers!
The only thing I would change is the the Libertad would get a B+. If price was better for them than I would say an A. Good video
The libertad was the hardest choice for me by far! If I could find them at a good price locally, I probably would have ranked differently..
Is what are your thoughts on the 10 oz silver kookaburra and 10oz Australian Lunar Series?
Also what are your thoughts on the 1 oz silver with privy on them?
What do you think the buyback will be on them?
I personally really like 10 oz coins AND the Perth mint products specifically, but I wouldn't "stack" them for myself. I have a kookaburra with a monkey privy, but I didn't spend any extra. If you are willing to do a private sale, you could probably get a decent price and recoup some of (or all of) the premium, but it seems that most LCS are not going to pay you the same premium in buyback.. maybe yours is different though?
Totally agree with your rankings and reasonings. Have you done one on gold? Platinum? Or are you strictly silver?
Great idea, Mark-- gold tier ranking coming up! I know the channel name might be misleading, but I have a significant interest in gold also (you can find plenty of gold videos in the catalog). As for platinum, I only have one eagle so far, but looking to start stacking one per year. As for tier rankings, I did one for junk silver also: ua-cam.com/video/2susTyViNp4/v-deo.html
@@SilverForeverX That would be great! I will check out your existing gold videos in the mean time. I mostly have Silver. Working on a monster box of 10 oz RCM silver bars. 39 so far but the bullion dealer is constantly sold out (Silver Gold Bull). They appeared at SGB for a couple of hours about a week ago and I snatched the only one left. Have about 70 Silver Maples and one ASE. I have a number of ounces in Platinum... it's on sale right now at SGB lol compared to last year. Only have 2 oz of Gold so far...
I'm not sponsored/affiliated with them in any way (yet) but I love SGB-- they are definitely my primary online vendor. Are you familiar with the /ape WSS deals? If not, let me know and I'll explain... That's an *epic* RCM silver bar stash by the way! I've been eyeing them for a while but still haven't pulled the trigger. As for my interest in gold, you'll find quite a few interesting pieces sprinkled throughout my videos, but I primarily stack 1 oz coins and collect 1/10 oz coins. Platinum-wise, I've been struggling to get over the premiums and the design of the Eagle's obverse, but I'm interesting in diversifying the stack just a little. I hope you enjoy the videos and join us here at the Accumulation Nation, always a good time sharing our stories/perspectives in the comments.
@@SilverForeverX yes those Wall Street Silver bars are very creative and limited mintage too.
Evening everyone, I am a new stacker to silver and I am trying to do my due diligence on researching and getting some questions answered. I would like someone to tell me what are the top mints that produce rounds that are favorable. I read that you want to stick to reputable mints so LCS would more than likely buy it. Now whether that’s true or not I’m not sure. I have to fully agree that maple leaf and Britannia are my favorite.
I thank you in advance to all that can help a newcomer into stacking.
Hello and welcome to the world of stacking! It's very smart that you are taking some time to learn before buying. Don't jump in all at once! One thing to clarify: Canadian Maple Leafs and UK Britannias are examples of "coins" (minted by sovereign government), whereas "rounds" are not.
If you are going to buy rounds, just make sure to buy them close to spot price (low premium) and they should say their weight and purity (1 troy ounce 999 fine silver, for example). Coins like the Maples and Brits will also have this info, but more importantly everyone will recognize them because they are both examples of a government-minted bullion coins. People may be less likely to trust random silver rounds if they don't have a good way of testing to ensure they are real.
It's very important for you to research based on where you live and how you plan to sell eventually. Try to understand the 'spread' or the difference between your purchase price and what you could sell back for. This can be very enlightening and also can really depend on where you live. Don't be afraid to visit or call your LCS and ask questions.
I'm not a financial advisor so you need to make your own decisions, but I personally think that some good starting options are low-premium 10 oz silver bars or low-premium silver bullion coins. Right now, premiums are very high on silver so you just need to be conscious of how much you are paying and plan to hold for the long-term. Best of luck!
my grandson has been collecting for about a yr. I heard you talk about about putting coins under a microscope. I may be a little early but depending on price, would like your opinion, may help keep him interested. Thankyou for any help.
the only things that concern me are the security features and the beauty of the coin , if I had to choose to lose anything it would then be the security and to me the Silver Eagle will always be king in my eyes but I appreciate your video, so thank you
Do you prefer the Type 1 or Type 2 design?
@@SilverForeverX Personally I like the type 1 better , I think they could have done far better with the T-2
spot on as far as I am concerned . My core stack is Maples and Brits
Excellent choices!
Generally agree on the rating....BUT if you check the online dealers, the OLD Libertads are rare. The Libertad should at the same level as the ASE. Low mintage and not suffcient supply. Libertads should on the A ranking if not next to a Maple.
I have a feeling the ASE will come down and the Libertads will go up in next year's rankings 😉
Ah, the Britannia. Such a lovely and brave lady.
I truly love the Britannias, the ONLY downside is I've been bummed about some rough milk spotting on some of my Royal Mint products
One side of my 2011 or 2013 Maple Leaf has a big milk spot. More than half of the flat background is milky. Depends on light and view angle if the coin looks nice or really bad. I'm new in collecting silver bullion coins (and gold). I like the Maple Leaf very much, but compared to my other coins the Maple Leaf sticks out as "the family's ugly duck" because of the milk spot. I began collecting because of accumulating precious metals, but now that I have a few nice looking coins I'm interested in the nice appearance too. Therefore my enjoyment of this milky Maple Leaf isn't too big.
Yes the Maple Leaf used to be the worst for milk spots, but since 2018 the Royal Canadian Mint has been using a new technology that prevents milks spots from happening! I recommend you only get the new Maples if you want to avoid milk spots!
Are you aware of the design of the New Zealand "tree of Life" ? That is my favorite design. beautiful and intricate...
is the Niue one with the Hebrew?
The philharmoniker has the most detailed faces, it has the most unique look, it is thicker than the other coins, it is the only coin with a euro value. How you put that in C tier is absolutely wild..
How did you feel about the scottsdale Bronco rider ? What grade would you give that one?
Great video, filled with information. And in my opinion the Panda should have never been rated for this categories because it is not 31.1 g.
Thank you 👍
Kangaroo should be in the A tier! But I agree with the rest. Great video.
This has been very enlightening! Lots of different opinions on the Kangaroo
Eventually it will be the weight that is most valuable...
Yes this is true, in the end.
fair analysis. for me, the Britannia is the most beautiful and deserves the top spot.
I absolutely LOVE the Britannia, but my main gripe is the milk spots coming out. Basically every bullion coin is developing milk spots except for the Maples, so it's not a terribly huge deal. But my bigger issue with The Royal Mint is when I pay a premium to get a specialty product and it still develops milk spots. Wish there was more emphasis on quality control. If you want to see me express my deep love for silver AND gold Britannias, check this one out: ua-cam.com/video/yPBOAUWj7XU/v-deo.html
@@SilverForeverX yeah i hear you i had some milk spots on some queens beasts i got, very annoying
Libertads are spot on - muy caro!
I have one of the old onzas and one of the new ones.. and that's it! Except for my 2x proof 1/10 oz gold Libertads I managed to score. I love the coin, but too pricey for my taste!
Hello , your thoughts on Abraham Lincoln 1 oz silver at APMEX?
Is it a good idea to stack on them ?
I just APMEX checked right now and I see they are at $27.58 per round and spot price is $21.89 right now. So here's some thoughts:
(1) That is a 26% premium to buy those Abe Lincoln rounds from APMEX. Right now, you can find rounds for 16-20% premium at most of the other online dealers. If you really like the Abe Lincoln design, it's totally your decision whether you want to buy that or not--But when the time comes to sell, you will very likely get the same price regardless of whatever round you are selling, so it (almost always) makes the most sense to just buy the cheapest ones you can find if you are buying generic rounds.
(2) This video was about silver coins, which are different that generic rounds because a government has actually minted them. In general, this gives the buyer more confidence in quality and purity because it's a crime to counterfeit coins. On the other hand, generic rounds can pretty much be made by anyone with any design, so it might be harder for people to recognize or trust them without testing first.
(3) Be sure to search around for the best price. My first purchases were also from APMEX, but keep in mind that they usually have higher prices than other sellers. This is because they have the largest and most diverse inventory of products, so they are a great place to find rare/scarce coins, but there are usually cheaper options for standard bullion coins or generic rounds/bars. Check out this website to find some of the cheapest prices online: findbullionprices.com/cheapest-silver-bullion-by-weight.php?weight=1
Best of luck in your stacking journey!!!!

Thanks for that tip , I’m getting ready to invest $10k on some silver this week needed some direction 😕. Mind me asking what silver would you get if you were me ??
@@Fiestafunjumps Only you can make your own decisions, but I if it were me and I had $10k to invest... I would probably buy some gold and some silver, maybe 50/50. If you live in the US, maybe a Gold Eagle or Gold Buffalo.. As for silver, I have been stacking Germania Mint silver kilo bars from Monument Metals because they are high quality bars for ~13% premium which is pretty low for silver right now. But 1 oz rounds and 10 oz bars are usually a safe bet too.
Check out my buddy's channel where he answers this exact question at Stackers University "How to Pay $10k"

I agree with all your selections except on three ones:
1) For me too, the Maple Leaf is top #1, but Britannia deserves being placed in the S category.
2) Krugerrand is a classic. I would have placed it in the A category.
3) Also Libertad deserves to be placed on the A category.
"I don't think theres any silver that's F tier"
Lemme introduce you to silver jewelry and fractional silver lmao
😂😂😂
I will never sell to an LCS unless it’s generic bullion silver. I do 30-40% more profit on eBay even after fees. Of course I generally have higher quality silver as well. I become much more selective as spot price is ridiculous as it is.
Definitely true, especially for higher premium items!
I bought 500 Buffalo’s and put them away just in case the dollar crashes. I’m not buying anymore silver it too heavily manipulated and it never goes anywhere. With the price of gold over $2000 an ounce silver should be at least $50 an ounce.
The best silver is the cheapest silver to maximize profit when you sell as melt bullion. As far as numismatic rounds go you'd be better off collecting from the strongest currency with the lowest premiums!
Lots of knowledge wrapped up in those couple of sentences! I often wonder how my opinions/stacking would change if I (1) was thinking on a shorter timespan and (2) didn't have a UA-cam channel
ASE down to B and Brits up to S and it’s a perfect tierlist imo
The Silver Kruger Rand has 2 security features...one of which is the engraving "krugerrand" on back of mountain below Springbok's hind legs...
Thanks @Lary King!! Gonna look for that now.. how did I miss this?
@@SilverForeverX It's a security feature, they are keeping that top secret! 🙂
Just found it! It looks like they started doing that in 2018. Never could have seen it without the hand lens. What's the other security feature?
Well thanks again for letting me know about that one!
Its subjective, but your reasoning is sound to me 👍
Its DEFINITELY subjective..so much so that I'm sure I'll disagree with myself in just a few more months!
Nice video. I agree for the most part but would put the Britannia into the S tier and the Maple Leaf into the A tier.k
The milk spots are the kicker for me. I've left out a bunch of 2021 Maples and Brits for the last few months and the difference is pretty stark. I love both coins though!
No way, I'm Aussie and the Libertad is far superior to the kangaroo. The kangaroo lacks flair and any creativity whatsoever - it's all security lines - boring. It's a D for Dull. I am so surprised to hear Americans dislike the new ASE design - I love it, it's better than the original. The enveloping wing across the outer edge is flight in motion and still encapsulates the typical American brand and ethos. It's exactly how a silver bullion coin from the USA should look.
I agree with your assessment of the Kangaroo design, very underwhelming-- but in the USA they have a MUCH lower premium than the Libertad, and that was a really important factor here in the tier ranking. If I was just basing this one design alone, these rankings would have been very different! Always fun to hear other perspectives, thanks for sharing!
@@SilverForeverX oh yes, I paid a high price for the Libertads and don't regret it, except the milk spotting is very disappointing.
I really like the kookaburra coin.
I like world coins like AE, Maples ect. for the long run. Specialty coins like marvel, street fighter, korean tiger ect..for flipping in a few years.
As long as you have a handle on how to flip and a good reputation with online sales, I think flipping some specialty coins can be a good option. Since making this video, I've heard some pretty convincing arguments that some officially-licensed coins (like Marvel) could really appreciate in value over the long term. However, I'm just hesitant to start flipping anything like that until I learn more. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
@@SilverForeverX i've been selling the Marvel, South Korean tiger and star wars sets for really good profit on ebay. The spider man coins i bought in 2020 for 60-70 dollars i've sold for over 200+ dollars since they're the first of series. The newest collection im buying is the tuvalu street fighter collection, so far its only Ryu and Chun li (chun li came out yesterday) both 2022. I'll sell them in sets in a few years and singles of the Ryu and Chun li, which i think will be worth the most.
Hard to argue against that.. I need to learn more!
One thing to remember is that spot price is most likely all someone is going to get if sold. Unless, of course, they know a collector.
I would agree with all of these votes. Although personally I only buy 2oz Canadian, not the 1oz.
I have to say that the spandex coins are too vulnerable to changes in pop culture trends Who is going to bet that in 30 years when Disney has completed their wokeness of the characters people will have stopped watching and reading these films.
I have lots of different coins from the RCM, including 1/2 oz, 3/4 oz, 1 oz, 1.5 oz, and 2 oz. They really make great products!
I'm not familiar with the term 'spandex coins', but I think I know what you mean... It's hard to say whether those changes will really result in people losing interest or not. Often times with collectibles, you'll find a dynamic where a trend's popularity will resurge once that generation is old enough to start accruing disposable income that can allocate to hobbies like collecting . So, even if most stackers in the current generations aren't interested, who's to say that today's kids won't grow up to be adults who like collecting silver coins from the popular culture of their childhood? I certainly don't know what trends will stay strong or what products might be retain or grow in value, so I tend to stay away from that stuff in general...
this is such an emotional video... the eagle scores at the bottom of all coins, the premiums are way to high. The Kangaroo is now on top because it's has the best price together with the Britannia's and the panda's.... those belong under the soil because like the eagles there's to many fakes. The Libertads are the best because of the very low mintage IF you can buy some.
I have to admit: I've been surprised at how many people are really loving the kangaroos, although there are some on the polar opposite of the spectrum as well. Not sure what you mean by emotional, but if you're implying that my rankings are subjective then you're absolutely right! It's hard to do an overall ranking, rather than focusing on a specific criterion. My thoughts have already changed since recording this video just a couple weeks ago!
Its 2023 . do you still feel the same way about the Maple leaf?
🗽ONE OF EACH PLEASE
I'LL TAKE TWO
Nice video, thank you. At the end of the day, everyone chooses the coin which is best for them. In my case, it is the Philharmoniker. Nothing can beat them in terms of pricing. The ASEs are too overpriced. For 8 Phillies, I can get only 7 eagles. Why bother? The maples are bland in my opinion. The design is a bit lazy (just a plain maple leaf), and the reverse is downgraded by the monarch. The coat of arms would be so much better, like on the type 1 ASE.
Nice to see you again, Petr! I agree, don't let anyone else tell YOU how to stack. If the Phils are right for you, go for it! I must say the Phils have been slowly growing on me over time, and I'm definitely losing interest in the ASE. I just wish the Philharmonics didn't get such bad milk spots! But who cares if your coins aren't milkspotted if you end up losing money because the spread's too great?
I don't stack Eagles for myself. Premiums are ridiculous, design is cool on the obverse, Type 1 reverse is federal looking and therefore, pretty powerful. However, the finish is boring and looks like Constitutional tier blandness. That being said, I only stack Eagles for my children with each year netting them an ounce per their corresponding age in years. If they make a dollar off of them, they're ahead of the curve. Great video! I'd upgrade the Britannia to S-tier and the Krugerrand to A-tier. Downgrade the Philharmonic to D-tier due to how cluttered and random the design is.
Thanks for sharing your perspective! I really should have downgraded the Eagle, just because this was 2021 and the premiums were already ridiculous. I also REALLY love the Britannias, but I was pretty salty about the terrible milk spots that developed on the Brits and some other products from The Royal Mint. If you search my video catalog, you can find one video where I suggest the Britannias are the best gold and silver of 2021, and a UA-cam short where I gave the Philharmonic a reeded edge!
@@SilverForeverX I shall peruse your channel and subscribe!
I love the Britannia and Maples. Although, I don’t understand one thing. Why don’t the philharmonics and Krugerrands not say 999 fine?
Private resell for silver has exploded. A graded marvel coin in the right marvel case will fetch $500.
I'd rather pay premium for collectible that has high resell then get a libertad with super high premium and not much of a resell value on secondary markets
I'm definitely planning on private resell. Like I said in the video, I've seen people made BIG money by flipping the Marvel coins, but I just don't know enough about that world to dip my toes in yet. There's certainly a dynamic overlap between bullion stacking and collectibles, which can become even more complicated when the price of silver changes. How many formerly 'collectible' items or numismatic coins will be lost to melting the next time spot skyrockets? If the price of silver drops, those same coins would retain their value as collectibles, even if the silver itself isn't worth as much.
I've made many purchasing decisions based on the premium resell value (e.g., Engelhard bars), but it's important to remember that some fashions/fads change over time, so you don't want to buy into a collectible at the high price and have it lose interest/value over time. I don't know anything about Marvel, but I'm guessing there will be a lot of interest retained over time given how popular the movies seem to be
You can’t find any libertads anywhere I drove to 6 banks and they ended selling me the window displays
Wow, are you in Mexico?
@@SilverForeverX I come and go all the time maybe ones every month
Very interesting how they sell them at the banks! Good on you for trying hard enough to get the window displays!
I like the new silver eagles. Thank you for the review.
I've got a few myself, but I definitely didn't go "all in" on them this year like in some years past!
