I dunno, I feel like it's actually less menacing and imposing. The guitar and the chorus make the song overly bombastic compared to the more atmospheric sound of the synth in the original, especially with the usage of the violin in the original.
With the original theme, it’s more hopeless and more sorrowful like you have no chance of winning. The new one is more of a showcase of what just happened to Peach, she isn’t the same princess anymore instead the powerful entity inside her has made her cruel and black-hearted determined to cause a world of darkness by any means necessary. If you like the original version, I respect your choice. For me, I prefer this phase of the Shadow Queen more than the original.

I think the problem is that TTYD soundtrack was made before the new direction that started with Sticker Star where the music became more goofy and cartoonish - it really doesn't work with TTYD in retrospect.

Just a reminder that therws a badge you can get in the remake that costs zero BP and changes the games music to the original. This last battle needs the original music badly.
yeah I think they completely ruined my all time favorite Mario battle theme here lol.. its trying WAY to hard to be epic with the guitars and choirs. The synth choir they had before was so ominous but now its intentionally trying to be "epic". The original shadow queen themes sounded dark and menacing compared to the rest of the battle themes in the game..this and the one following sound just like intense go get em battle themes.. this was the biggest disappointment for me
Remember, if there is a remake of a track, then the original ceases to exist. I didn't really care for Cackletta Soul in the Superstar Saga Remake but I still can appreciate as a different take.
Listen, if you don’t like the new soundtrack, your preferences are your own and I respect them. However, that doesn’t mean you complain about it everywhere. On Ms. Mowz, Boggly Woods, Glitzville, and more. You made it pretty clear you’re not a fan of the new soundtrack and like another person said I feel sorry that you don’t enjoy the soundtrack that much, but when I say that I don’t mean that in a way to offend you. You like the sound of the original and are tired of the modernization of orchestra tracks in games. You have valid concerns when missing the tones from the 2000s, that’s a good reason to me and sorry that the soundtrack couldn’t meet your expectations. If you’re tired of that, why not make a video or a blog to post your concerns instead of complaining on it each post. It would be more beneficial for your time instead of going by the videos one by one.

Phase 2 sounds kinda better in the OG, but this one was absolutely magnificent
I prefer the OG version of phase 2 since it has more tension than this arrangement version
The OG version is a much better fit for this boss, this feels was less menacing & less darker in this remake version its just trying too hard.
