Ohad is adorably cute in the section where you ask her to leave . I'm not American but I am heartbroken for all the people I love in America and just the American people in general today. Sitting here shook and disgusted and trying to lift my spirits. Thank you for your recent vlogs and your lovely calming voice and presence. Sending love and support to you all xxx

The approach to poetry collections that works best for me is thinking of it as a music album. Since poetry on its own is somewhat intimmidating. Treating it like a CD means to me: binging, skipping, rereading (partially), ... without pressure.

I think the "best" piece of advice I've ever gotten in regards to reading poetry is actually reading them aloud because it pushes you to slow down and let the poem truly sink in? It's not necessarily about understanding it better, but letting it touch your soul by taking the moment to say it out loud, making you think about what you just read/said (if this makes any sense!)

So true what you said about short chapters! Somehow 200 pages with short chapters go by so much faster than 200 pages with long chapters.
I am still new to reading poetry books and I really like your approach of reading it from cover to cover and then reread certain poems. Will definitely try this.

Oh a good reminder to look for that Belcourt at the library! ❤. Omg I love the film, Certain Women. My kind of movie.

Totally my kind of movie as well. So happy to hear you’ve seen it and love it as well. I think the film is based on some short stories? I don’t remember the author’s name … are you familiar? Definitely grab that Belcourt when you can!

I just learned about slam poetry performances.i wonder if you have ever attended one of these or spoken poetry sessions. My favorite podcast, The Bookcase, did an episode about it, and it was fascinating.
