I just updated this unit on my Toyota 86 sound out put much better than original head unit. Screen size perfectly sit in the original base.

@@jonagreyphoto pretty happy with it, it has a few glitches with android auto use but Im positive its an android auto issue not related to the head unit.

Hi mate, I really enjoy all your videos, keep up the good work, I have ordered this unit along with all the Aerpro bits to install it myself in my Honda CRV-2010, I also got a free reverse camera with it, it hasn’t arrived yet but I was wondering once I replace the head unit will I loose the factory reverse sensors?, they don’t have any video they just beep, if so, is there any way to keep them?.

I am looking at this head unit to replace my Pajero exceed HU. It has 12 speakers (inc sub and amp). I’m told by a friend I will need a MITO-02 and axxess adaptors.

Hi, quick question. For this particular head unit, does grounding the parking wire (as seen in one of your videos ua-cam.com/video/PAUm17NNXPM/v-deo.html) enable Android Auto, video features etc? Or is it one of those requiring a triple pulse (on/off/on) which will require a MicroBypass wire? Just want to find out because this is such a new until. And BTW, I am also looking forward to your screen mirroring video for this unit. Keep up the good work! Thanks.
Screen mirroring coming soon! just waiting on parts :). and the Park Brake Ground trick works! it works on pretty much all Australian delivered units. Software on the USA (possibly other countries) is what the issue is with the pulse thing.

Hi, great vids. I just bought this yesterday and installed it last night into my i30, using Aerpro ISO harness APP064 and APP8P108. Do I need to do anymore wiring for unit to work, ie, hand brake power, or will the above listed harnesses take care of everything? I also installed a reverse camera, spiving into the power and earthe for the reversing lights, when I select reverse, with the head unit automaticcaly swith to reverse camera mode?

Hey mate! Yep those two harnesses will cover you. Though if the car has steering wheel controls they won’t work as you need the module. Also sold by aerpro. The light green handbrake wire can go directly to the black wire (ground) and for the camera. There purple / white stripe wire also needs 12v signal from reverse light. Then settings > camera > rear view camera on. In the head unit. That should be you set up good to go :)
Hi mate, love your work. I have the same system but when I turn it on it boots up then goes to main screen as it should but after 10sec it shuts down and reboots again. It keeps doing this. Any suggestions?

Hey man, nice video, thanks to you I have selected this and installed it on my Aurion 2011. Now I'm getting the RCAMAVIC (the reverse camera that comes with the headunit during a sales) installed and I just want to ask if I should pair the camera to the ACC 12v from the headunit as the instruction manual from Pioneer said so, or should I get the 12v power from reverse light only? I saw there is an option for camera view on the headunit, is wiring to ACC better as it remains on when the car is on so I could use the camera view? Does the camera overheat that way?

Do you wire the rear camera so that it is powered all the time, or only when triggered by reverse?

Both can be on ignition if you want to access them at all times + automatically when R is engaged. Otherwise rear camera be on r only. and just pick the camera that suits the car as they all look pretty much the same unless you go top of the range alpine / kenwood and use the HD camera

Brant Wooster Press and hold home button so the unit turns off. Then press once more so it turns on in “off” mode then you can access the controls :)

Hey man. Camera will come on almost instantly regardless of start up time. And start up time is about 20 secs

I just bought the DMH-2660-NEX and I love it, but the only thing is that it takes about 15 seconds to boot up and I hate that., Unlike the other radios I had that were near the same as this one, is that this Unit I have takes too long to boot up. I hope there is a Firmware fix for it.

Hey mate! You have to do this: 1) Press hold home button till unit turns off. 2) Then single press home again unit will boot up in "off" mode. Then you can go and set the SWC :)
I'm in the market for a new head unit and I like the Kenwood DMX5020S, the Alpine ILX650, Sony AX5000 and the Pioneer in this video. I'm very confused. Should I get the Pioneer or the Kenwood? I need to be able to use the existing steering wheel controls, a reverse camera and Android auto. Thanks for any suggestions.

Depends where you are in the world! In Australia just the ground is fine. States need on/off/on and Asia EU etc not sure
Just wire the handbrake cable to ground and you can use maps anytime.

Liam Joyce I’m an Alpine fan man but it’s a hard choice. I’d say pioneer has a better sound equaliser and more options like video input ect but I would still go Alpine personally
Hi the Bluetooth pairs but after turning car off it doesn't reconnect and Bluetooth settings don't work. Car unit remembers the phone just won't connect unless I plug in cord?

I has this head unit fitted a few days ago. It remembers saved radio stations, but, every time I get in the car and turn it on it wants to know language then country! How can I save the language country bit so that it starts up ready to go! Great review, I learned a lot and will return to it frequently

HI Mate, how is this device compare to Clarion fx450
7:35 you said chop the orange dimmer wire off because do not need it. That is incorrect. Without the orange wire head unit might dim day and night based on light sensor. But that's it.
The orange wire is for when dashboard/headlight is turned on at night. So then head unit will dim itself as well. And when using google maps, turning on headlights will auto change maps to night mode.
So everyone do NOT chop off that orange wire. Test it with dashboard/headlights on to see behaviour as explained above. Then decide if want it. I personally wired the orange wire.
Best phrase: "A remote you never use". I don't know why they still add remote controls to their devices.
It costs 1$ in production and marketing value is way higher.

TheiTwitch exactly :) you’ll need a conversion box too so it’ll go > lightning to HDMI > HDMI To composite converter > plug into radio RCA input

famila johns Hey mate! No unfortunately there isn’t an option available to retain the 360 camera. We have an integration module for CarPlay. It will allow Apple CarPlay to work with the factory screen. Jump on www.aesonline.com.au and submit contact form if you’re interested in that

Phil Waters Rear Sensor’s work independent from the camera and head unit. Unless you buy the pioneer parking sensors kit for optical display but they don’t work on this unit. So you can use any decent parking sensors kit for audible sound and a reverse camera to plug into the rcam rca on head unit :)
This verse the Alpine ILX-W650E, what's the comparison? Where do they both shine/ struggle and why do you believe the Alpine is better?
Alpine unit paired with the amplifier made for it is hard to beat for sound quality. If you’re not gonna get the amp then I’d go with this unit as it has more features
