After Dying in the other world Subaru wakes up back in his own world exactly where and when he had left it previously. He takes a step forward. And is immediately hit by a truck.
Random concept: Subaru in the last chapter loses Return By Death and in the process gets sent back in time to when he first appeared by the Appa store and has to do everything he did before in one perfect run
Subaru sacrifices himself for the world he had grown to love, the friends he had made, the adventures he had had...everything turns white...everything stops....until...A mans voice can be heard. *"Hey....you......"* Subaru's eyes slowly open...he sees a man.... *"Finally awake, YOU were trying to cross the border..."*
Still slightly blinded by the sun's glare, Subaru blinks once more in which another voice is heard across from him: *"Damn you Stormcloaks... Skyrim was fine with the Empire.."*
Subaru was able to return to Japan, back in the convenient store. His memories of the world was erased, but his emotional maturity remained. He longed for something that he feels is missing from his life. He spend his years bearing this yearning heart of his. Then, years later, he is suddenly transported to another world. Here he meets a silver haired half-elf. She introduces herself, and then asks him his name. Subaru at that time knew the longing in his heart was finally satisfied. For the first time in years, he felt free. Freedom. Like a bird finally able to flutter its wings. And so he introduces himself, "I am Flugel".
I guess he will meet a girl with silver hairs in japan completely resembling Emilia though he won't remember anything but he will feel familiar with her and story will end. (The girl will not recognise Subaru or know anything about that World but maybe it'll just be a form of satella/Emilia in the real world and story will end without clarifying why she resembled Emilia.
There's gonna be a turning point later on where everyone considers the Emilia camp evil. If you reveal all their secrets they would be seen as the worst people since the witches. You have Subaru who is linked to the witch and has extreme witch miasma, seems to be megamanning watered down witch authorities left and right, and always for some reason conveniently knows exactly how to handle deadly situations. The rest of the people in the faction are almost all demi-humans which are heavily discriminated against, or at the very least outcasts in society. Emilia herself is the spitting image of Satella, and Roswaal has spent 400 years doing dark magic eugenics body hopping so he can kill the dragon which is almost worshipped as a deity. On the other hand Felts faction is almost a fairy tale story about how a girl grew up in poverty, got reluctantly pushed into a position of power by the countries strongest and most noble knight, and might actually be the long lost descendant to the last king. The last couple arcs are gonna be Subaru and co against the world with Felt winning and Reinhardt as his greatest obstacle. Since he can only act as a hero, in world that sees Subaru as a villain he will fight him even if he doesn't want to. Although I'm not saying Subaru will actually become evil just that the rest of the world will see him that way. He will most likely be doing what he thinks is best and will be involved in freeing Satella in order to kill or save her. Dark lord Subaru will be canon
I see I feel that Reinhard becomes Subaru's enemy NOT reluctantly at some point in time (because of his mindset of a hero and choosing to save the mass) and Emilia faction's reputation get wrecked at arc 9 but i don't think it become so extreme that darklord Subaru becomes canon
I always thought Subaru would save Satella (arc 4 spoilers) from the witch of envy because she has a split personality and have a ending with her. Cause I don’t think Sin Archbishops age So rem and Emilia will die off eventually. He can’t have an ending with them. So it would have be Satella ending or dead Subaru ending. Maybe alone Subaru ending too
I can see Subaru becoming a dark lord to set himself up as the villain (in the eyes of the public) when he actually has good intentions for Satella and the world.
I hope Subaru say stuff like: "if you choose to reject me even after all this, then I indeed might as well become the villain if that's gonna end this confliction" as there is a part of him that both wants to become cruel duo to the past deaths, and one part that still have faith in life-changing for the better
Read the Ayamatsu and Oboreru IF story. Subaru there is pretty dark, on Ayamatsu he died 110,489 times to make Emilia the Ruler and on the Oboreru he refused to die on the cliff and tried to live on becoming extremely evil while being hunted by Ram because Rem is dead on the Oboreru IF. Read it, it is dark as hell. Oboreru is darker and Ayamatsu is sadder (wth sadder?)
@Xelenoz tbh not even 5 years if they go with the sword art online speed, cause SAO made the secons season 2 yeras after than in just 1 year realesed 2 seasons
I can't foresee a 'happy ending', I think the best I can predict is perhaps a bittersweet ending. If he doesn't truly die at the end, maybe he'll become permanently disfigured by some unforeseen character or circumstance? But everyone still loves him regardless. This could line up with everyone's characterization
@@Akali_69-j7s i have a theory, assummed same as hunter x hunter eps 146 last moment 7 minutes before ending, when emilia want to merge with satella, suddenly subaru arrive in the center of them, then subaru grab satella and emilia hand with his both hands (satella in his left hand and emilia in his right hand). Then their is going to white place and subaru hug satella, then he order satella to press her dark personality into his heart, so now satella is satella (witch of envy personality will buried in her heart). So that's how subaru will save satella without killing her (and emilia is watching in behind subaru). After satella personality is full of satella, subaru make a request again with satella (because she is unsealed now), subaru request to satella is she must hide her true identity & her true power and subaru will give a new name to the satella in her new life in this world now. Charmilia is her new name, so subaru and emilia is the only person that know the true identity of charmilia is satella. Why subaru want to give satella a new identity and hide her true power and identity? Because subaru want satella enjoy her new life in this world, so people can make satella as a friend, not a enemy. So subaru is going to make a third request to satella (and emilia too), the request is make satella is a elder sister of emilia, so emilia can have a sister now. And then after inside of white place (maybe room of dream), they back to the world, and subaru announce everyone that satella is defeated by subaru & emilia, and subaru announce everyone too that emilia now have a sister named charmilia. Then the war is over. After that, emilia now become the new queen of lugunica and subaru and charmilia is walking to meet with echidna and subaru want to make charmilia (satella) ask for forgiveness to the echidna and other witches, subaru hope that echidna and other witches will forgive charmilia because her life 400 years ago. After all the struggle, now charmilia and other witches is now friends (even echidna not hate charmilia/satella). Subaru very happy and hug charmilia/satella very tight and even kiss her 2 times because now charmilia/satella and witches is now friend
It doesn't make sense if Subaru dies in the end because he literally is dying for them all the time, he deserves atleast live a good life with the one he loves until the end after so much suffer so it would make it worth. But he would probably lose one arm, leg or eye in the final fight.
@@manofgreed7865 no regulus. Milos Is God. He could take away reinhard's power and divine protection by just dancing. He could one shot satella with just his aura.
When I started to watch one piece I’ve been 9 years old .. now I’m almost a geezer so I hope re zero ends ASAP .. i would he satisfied with around a 100 episodes .. it’s possible
Tappei has stated that it won't end happy on his twitter. I would go through and find it, but the man posts way too much. He really likes dark endings like Devil Man crybaby.
My theory is that Emilia isn't a reincarnation or future vessel for Satella, she *is* Satella. We know that time travel is possible in Re:Zero, so I think it could go down like this. At a pivotal battle in the final chapter, Subaru, after trying and failing numerous times to save his friends, tries to pull the souls of all his allies back with him in his next Return by Death using _Cor Leonis_ and _Invisible Providence_ . However, the strain is too much for him, and they are all pulled 400 years into the past, their souls/od are damaged and their bodies scattered across the continent. Subaru ends up in Kararagi, and ends up influencing the culture and development of that area. Emilia is transported to the Frozen North, where, without any memories, she encounters a group of 6 women, the future Witches of Pride, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Sloth and Wrath. The Witches take her in, and give her the name, 'Satella'. Finis.
The witches were already gone before Amelia was frozen. She was in ice for 100 years whilst the witches were gone 400. That is why the witch cultists had the authorities when they were attacking Amelia's home.
I think Subaru will go into the past 400 years ago as he is the sage (probably when he gets all the witch factors and open that door in the Pleiades watchtower) and put all of the events in rezero in place. So planting the Flugel tree and raising shaula. I think the cast will find out about subarus return by death.
Fans of the anime:God please don't make the ending sad he deserves a good ending after all he's been through Fans who read web novel:We can dread it....run from it.... sadly Subaru will suffer all the same
Man I really don’t see why rezero should end with a tragic end it would feel like all the stuff he went through and suffered through would be for nothing. Don’t get me wrong I do love a good tragic ending if it works within the story parameters but it just doesn’t feel right with this story (for now atleast.) others things later on could change it.
"Heroic tragedy" is a long-established genre. In fact, the story of King Arthur ends in terrible tragedy. Like the Arthur story, I think this one will show how certain moral lessons must be learned in the hardest possible ways. On the other hand, heroism and love are worthwhile for their own sakes.
I agree. If he suffers so much, then he should have a happy ending. Other stories, like maybe Attack on Titan, the MC should probably lose and not gain what he wants because he's a physco who wants to be selfish and kill everyone else. But for an MC like Kaneki from TG, he suffered a lot, but at the end he got what he wanted, and I dare to say, that Subaru suffered even more than Kaneki, and is still a good person, so an ending where he just dies would be pointless.
i agree but not because it would make subaru's constant suffering pointless, but rather that grand narrative's don't go well with tragedies. a bittersweet ending is totally fine and might make it better though. besides Subaru dying for real and Emilia dying for real has already happened in the IF stories.
@@michielstreefland7711 besides subaru always chooses the virtue path, he never chooses sin path, so it just doesn't fell right if this virtue's path he chooses will let him to a tragic end, then why work so hard on a virtue path in the first place, even in sloth path he can be happy, it just doesn't feel right if all the deaths and suffering he gets to just get the path right and avoid sin:s path will just led to his tragic ending.
Pretty sure Subaru will die at the end with everyone being able to know about his ability, be that knowing EVERYTHING through forced memory sharing or something, or just him finally being able to tell them, and them not knowing what he's went through, since he maybe wouldn't have the time to tell. I prefer something like this to be shown at the end of the story, but not END end. If they saw everything he's been through, it would suck to leave it off till the very end. It could provide a lot of interesting reactions that could be explored upon, especially with Rem.
Yeah rem and ram killed Subaru they are going to be shocked af for what they did with him..... For everyone else are going to be shocked for what Subaru been through as well... THIS MAKES ME SO EXCITED!!!!!
Satella just bring every one into a room with a 50 inch TV and is like “grab some popcorn grab some tissue and grab a knife cause im going to make you hate yourselves tonight”
as Subaru returns to his own world, now with the motivation to not be a shut-in who feels like he wastes his life = avoids begin what I am meanwhile, in the other world, Satella eighter tells those sons and daughters of bitches what Subaru went through or she will sneak into his world and do "stuff" she couldn't before brining him to her's
Personally, I think any ending that has to do with Subaru returning to Earth would be very cheap, and just not something I can see Tappei doing. It would essentially mean all of his struggles would be completely for nothing. It's not the fleshed out, tragic writing he does. Same with "it was all a dream" or "he daydreamed it all" ideas. These all just cheapen the story. I do, however, firmly believe that he will experience one, final death at the very end, probably in a similar vain to what you said.
I think it would be interesting to see what Subaru would do with his life if he did return to Japan though. After all the ideological conflict he went through, he's gotta be a completely different person by the end. I'd imagine if he was able to get back to Japan be wouldn't be a hikikomori anymore and he'd quit the MMO's and do something with his life
@@Echidnut If he return in Japan he will be raving lunatic who lost direction in life. Whether he will kill himself for real (no Rbd) or confined into mental hospital for the rest of his life.

Q: What’s happening in Subaru’s original world? Do his parents worry about him? A: Of course they worry about Subatu, but sadly they can’t find him. His family should be very chaotic now.
That's actually a fucking massive spoiler, let me explain, if time in re:zero flows the same as the real world that would mean Flugel really got transported 400 years ago but we KNOW that he knew "Google" so he is indeed a person from 2016 and not 1600, this means Flugel got transported around the same time Subaru got tranported to re:zero, and knowing all the coincidences Subaru has with Flugel I'm sorry but the logical conclusion is that Subaru=Flugel and he will get transported 400 years in the past at some point maybe RBD will sent him really far back to save Satella ( I also think Satella=Emilia but im not explaning that now).
@@mauriciocaceresfrias2116 Arc 7 should answer that if we learn the year Al came to Vollachia. But I think time runs faster in Re:Zero since Hoshin of the wild is probably from Subarus world and I don't think he's from the 1600s either.
How Re:Zero will end and should end (confirmed by the author): *Reinhard Solos and Kills Satella With a Fish.* which kinda makes sense... I mean.. He's Reinhard. He is freakin Reinhard. So... Yeah.
@@rigobertojulian-garcia1113 Why it's not? They said it was bittersweet ending. Who knows he will be Great Sage and kill everyone, have a happy ending but ridden by guilt.
To add on to that, if I'm not mistaken, the author said that if Re:Zero didn't happen Subaru would meet a girl like Rem in his world right ? So when he comes back to Japan after his final death, he will go about his daily life, return back to school and meet this Rem like girl. They will have childeren named Rigel and Spica and Subaru is gonna end up as an author, writing about the story of Re:Zero.
And the final scene would be the embodiment of Satella in the real world murdering him before he can write the story. The last thing and the final line of the story would be 'I thought you would of figured out that you shouldn't talk about your past lives'
@@Deimos0VI But the fourth wall is too strong and satella is ripped apart in the process cuz fourth wall is most powerful entity in ALL of fiction and the best characters can do is recognize it exist but cannot pass fourth wall defenses. @xrelik very interesting theory. The author didn't exactly say it won't get a happy ending, what he said when someone asked was "Define happy". So there might actually be a satisfying ending.
@@lilith4702 Definitely different people. Aside from existing simultaneously in the present, in Arc 6, (SPOILERS) the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony steals Emilia's [name]. It was stated that Gluttony cannot steal aliases like Felt, only birth names, so Emilia is truly Emilia and not Satella. However, considering her appearance is EXACTLY like Satella and that Lewes/Ryuzu's exist, I find it likely she is a type of 'clone'.
@@lilith4702 they could be alternate timeline versions, reincarnations, twins, past/future versions, a split soul, etc. But it's not like a batman/bruce wayne thing.
Normal shows usually have the character go through a hardship in the beginning before becoming a stronger and happier person, but Re ZERO is different as no matter what Subaru does he will always die. I think the ending will be a happy one only because it would be the biggest twist of them all. "The boy who could only fail finally wins". People don't think they'd hate the show if "It was all a dream" or "He dies for real and never comes back" but I'm telling you, you will. Re ZERO is the only anime I've ever felt bad for the character as there were times where his death had messed him up so bad that he just wanted to give up on helping people and live the rest of his life in safety. I hope Subaru gets the ending he deserves that's all I'm saying.
Not gonna lie I have no idea on how this will end and every time their is a new anime author goes on hiatus until like the end of the anime for that season. I personally think that some massive reveal will happen in the end of arc 6 or 7 I still wonder how and why he got to the world. I hope the entire thing gets explained why how when. I’m wondering if it’s a loop or some shit. Idk why she be violating Subaru when he mentions return by death.
I think that "Subaru" is actually a replica that either Od Lugnica or Satella herself made of the original Flugel, who was actually the real, original, Subaru. Likewise I believe that Emilia is a similar copy of the original Satella. This Subaru's memories are fakes based on the originals, and Emilia's whole backstory may be a strange twist on the original Satella's as well. It's very convenient she was "Frozen for 100 years" and the only one to corroborate her story is Puck. Since the canon route is likely the "Envy" route, presumably this Subaru will make the choice to be sealed away with Emilia even after she repeats her originals fate, and this time they will be able to be together forever, unlike they're originals, with Emilia's soul finally able to be appeased with Subaru beside her. Edit: Also, Witch of Vainglory might be Subaru and Satella's kid, and she just recently brought her father back to life with her ability, as a preparation for reviving her mother, reverting him to the state he was in when first arrived in their world.
@@evxlyvn not the canon route is the envy route. He’s full of envy for the people around him like Crusch, Wilhelm, Rem, Garfiel etc and wants to be like them. So he follows the path of virtues but it is called the envy route to fit with the theme
Arc 1-3 in its most basic form is the story of Subaru saving Emilia. I think at the end of arc 6 maybe even Arc 7 it will change to the form of Emilia trying to save Subaru or something along the lines of showing Subaru he can depend on her. Once Subaru learns more of Satella, and her lover I believe this story will be about Subaru saving Emilia from sharing the same fate as Satella, and Emilia saving Subaru from making the same mistakes as Satella's lover. If the author does intend to give the story a bittersweet ending, either Subaru or Emilia will end up sacrificing themselves for the other, perhaps even both. Subaru is more than willing to sacrifice himself for her sake, but Emilia is likely to share the same sentiment as Subaru. At this point, only one story can succeed either Subaru saves Emilia, or Emilia saves Subaru. If we look at the Witch of Envy and Satella the only definite we know is that they both love Subaru, but they also loved someone while they were unsealed. We don't know the relationship between Subaru and their past lover, but I believe Satella's past lover followed the path of envy. This lover more than likely sacrificed himself for her sake, while sacrifice is a very selfless act, based on what Satella said during the tea party this lover did not care at all about himself. His act may have been selfless but in the eyes of Satella, it could be perceived as envious. The world took her lover. Of course, this could all be wrong but I still think her lover walked the path of envy. Kindness is the opposing virtue to envy, if Subaru walks the path of Kindness he will have to accept the fact that Emilia objects his death and wants to protect him, out of kindness he will have to accept her sacrifice. This whole paragraph is just my take but I do believe the ending of this story will follow the path of what I stated in the first paragraph. Of course, if they both end up sacrificing themselves that would suck but it will be sadder if one dies and the other doesn't.
I’ll be honest even with what we know it’s almost impossible to predict the end of the series. We’ve really only seen the seeds being planted without anything coming up yet with the next arcs will finish up this current set of arcs and begin the next set. There’s too many things Tappei can do and with next nothing confirmed for exactly what’s going on in the next arcs I have no idea. Sure there’s ideas but considering we’re at more than the halfway point there’s gonna be some plot twists that’ll change everything and what Subaru needs to for now. Then, what’s going on with Subaru, Satella, and Flugel needs explained which I’m betting is gonna be explained in pieces in arcs 9-11 and completely change everything. While I think your theory is decent it seems like something a bit too straightforward for Tappei to do in last arc it’s just too early to judge with mysteries and questions probably being at the high point considering where we are in the series. Tappei usually has pretty abrupt and unpredictable plot lines that just kind of happen and appear with only very, very, mild foreshadowing. Arcs so far have been pretty self-contained with maybe slight or some connections to the arc before with through-line to keep things together being Subaru and Emilia growing and maturing while learning the truth about the themselves and the world around them. This is just something I’ve been thinking about not really a theory just vague ideas. Also Subaru mentioned something in the Pride IF about having RBD return him farther back in time than a previous checkpoint (It’s in the last section). I feel this is really important if something that just plain goes against the rules Echidona made happens so I expect something like that to happen at least considering that might be and interesting situation for Subaru to deal with. Hopefully the series will be over by 2030 and not 2049.
One of Echidona's clones is the main villain, most likely Omega. Basically one of her clones is an "IF story" version of her. Satella is a scapegoat and is basically Itachi Uchiha. Something terrible happened or was going to happen and Satella+Flugel decided that the only way to fix it was for their next "reincarnations" to fix it. Subaru = reincarnation of Flugel, and is loved by Satella and Shaula. Emilia = reincarnation of Satella and is loved by Subaru and Puck. Satella takes all the blame but shes actually a hero, and Subaru is going to save Emilia from suffering the same fate as her previous incarnation did.
theory from an anime only who has been filled with spoilers from the web novel: Satella is freed but Subaru but absorbs all of the witch factors and essentially takes her place, he has total control of all of the authorities and his return by death and is an immortal being. Finally, after experiencing years as someone incredibly weak and relying on others, Subaru has become the strongest being, and power begins to get to his head people who knew him as a hero begin to fear him, furthermore conflicting witch factors quickly cause Subaru to near insanity. Subaru cant stand people looking at him in fear, mistaking it with the look of disgust that he saw people used to have for Emilia, but Emilia/Satella calms him as he is on the brink of madness and total destruction, and he considers his options: the world can continue with a being that holds ultimate power, a being that can possibly destroy the entire world if it wanted to or if madness drives it to, or Subaru can abandon it all, destroying all of the witch factors, which would kill him after his body has grown so accustomed to it, and upon that final death, he would return to his 'homeland', his mortal world, Earth, the same weak Natsuki Subaru he was before, with no life or friends outside his home. Just like at many stages of the story Subaru is confronted with whether he acts according to a sin or not (the IF stories show where these options are), this would be the ultimate choice for Subaru, the world cannot stand to have such power that he holds all on his own, he can sacrifice all the sins to make the world of re zero a better place, or he can give in, and become the ultimate symbol of evil and terror. Again, i havent actually read the web novel/light novel, ive just read a bunch of the wiki and seen a lot of theory videos with many spoilers, i would be interested in knowing your opinions on this theory though, is it actually possible according to the web novel or does it not make any sense at all?
Re zero hardcore mode lol, but this time he knows what he has to do, this would easily be a great movie ova where he does everything again without failing
This would explain the ending image of the first Re:Zero teaser where Subaru and Emillia have a huge painting in what looks like a Church, like some revered legends/heroes. The soundtrack in that part was bittersweet. Gave off an eerie vibe that unnerved me and made me afraid of the possibility of an ending such as the one you described.
PLOT TWIST: *The end of Re:ZERO will show Subaru waking up in a mysterious room full of advance technology then a man walks infront of Subaru and said, "You were a good test subject for my latest invention, Reality Dream."*
Going with the theme and his mental maturity he would probably live because if he killed himself it would go against his growth but he'd live a productive live but suffer inside
My theory is that after absorbing all of the witch factors, Subaru turns into an evil sage and transforms all of his friends into the antagonists we've seen throughout the series. Most notably, Emilia is turned into the witch of envy, and Beatrice was turned into the Luis Arneb. Emilia's task as the which of envy was to use return by death to guide Subaru to the point where he becomes Flugel. Additionally, this would explain why certain witches and sin arc bishops are named after start and celestial bodies, since Subaru himself is named after a star cluster, and thought it would be appropriate to name his closest allies after other celestial bodies. This would also explain why Shaula recognizes Subaru as the sage in arc six, and could possibly explain why Luis was born in the Pleiades watch tower since he was probably trying to create a version of Beatrice who's task was to live in a library and gather information for him, similar to Beatrice's contract with Echidna.
I feel like the exact nature of the Subaru/Flugel connection (And more broadly, Subaru's conncetion to all the various isekaiers, like Hoshin and Al) is very important to the endgame, and depending on what it turns out to be, the ending can change drastically. Personally, I'm partial to the theory that all the isekaiers are different iterations of Subaru; Basically, they were all the Subaru outside the convenience store, they were just summoned at different times, and became different people as a result. My theory is, Satella first summoned Subaru over 400 years ago, where he became known as the Sage Flugel, and fell in love with her. Eventually, however, something went wrong. I'm not sure on the specifics, but Flugel gave into Pride (Scorning all but Satella in an attempt to save her, maybe? Sort of like the fanfic Re:Start, if you've ever read it. Highly recommend, btw), and Satella thought it necessary to summon another iteration of Subaru to fix things, probably by killing her. This Subaru became Hoshin, but he gave into Sloth, using his otherworldly knowledge to indulge in a more stereotypical isekai experience with Echidna, and founding Kararagi. Several other iterations of Subaru were summoned over the next four centuries, each giving into a different Sin and failing to complete their task of killing Satella as a result, with Al giving into Wrath (This is the part of my theory I'm shakiest on, but Wrath seems to mean giving into your emotions over logic in Re:Zero, and the reason Al wasn't able to kill Satella could be out of love for her? Or maybe fear of what he'd have to do to accomplish it? IDK, we need more info on Al's exact relation to Satella). Subaru eventually has to kill Al to claim his Witch Factor, and on his deathbed, he reveals that he's another iteration of him, and gives Subaru enough pieces to put together this mystery. Subaru deduces that Satella's love for him is her projecting Flugel onto him, and ends up rejecting her love, and rejecting Flugel, stating that he's "Subaru, just Subaru". (If that quote wasn't obvious enough, this'd obviously create a huge parallel between Subaru being loved for someone he isn't and Emilia being hated for someone she isn't. The story seems to be playing a lot with the concept of identity, and how much of oneself is based on their experiences VS how much is innately "them" recently, so I'm super confident in this section). His final hurdle will be making Satella understand that, allowing her to move on and freeing him from the curse of RBD after destroying the Witch of Envy. It'll also be his final step in learning to truly love himself. It's obviously not a complete endgame theory, and as for the exact specifics of how this would all be executed within the narrative, as well as the other elements, I'm not certain, but I am pretty confident in this theory as a whole, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Some additional tidbits about the theory I couldn't slot in anywhere + Other predictions about unrelated elements: -The reason why I specifically think Al is Wrath despite it being shaky is because I think it would be poetic if each of the various isekaiers had a connection to the IF stories about the respective sins they gave into. Al and Wrathbaru would share an antagonistic relationship with Ram, Hoshin and Slothbaru would share a connection to Kararagi, specifically Banan, and Flugel and Pridebaru would share a connection to the Witch's Cult. -Expanding on what exactly Flugel's connection to the Witch's Cult is, I believe, as part of his descent into Pride, he founded it with the goal of potentially reincarnating Satella through Emilia, as well as guarding against the aftereffects of her rampage. Petelgeuse was the leader, but Pandora (Who's... Potentially Flugel and Satella's daughter? I really have no clue what's up with her) hijacked it, turning them more violent in their methods, with the whole Elior Forest debacle being the last nail in the "moderate" Cult's coffin. -I feel like Emilia has to have _some_ connection to Satella, just like Subaru has to have some connection to Flugel, but I think, like with Subaru and Flugel, she'll ultimately reject this connection, and remain her own person. As for what exactly that connection is, I think Emilia has the same soul as Satella, or a fragment of her soul, but not her memories, and the goal of the Witch's Cult is to restore those memories, at least theoretically. -I just sort of thought of this right now as I was writing this comment, so there could be some obvious thing I'm overlooking that invalidates it, but bear with me; What if Pandora, and maybe Hector, are working in opposition to the Witch Cult's stated goal? Rather than resurrecting/reincarnating Satella, they want to make sure she stays dead, while trying to erase her and the other Witches' legacies as well. So while Pandora knows that Satella's soul truly lies in Emilia, she sends Petelgeuse on wild goose chases to look for a suitable "vessel" to put through "the Ordeal", she hands out Witch Factors to other insane individuals to act as her enforcers, who she similarly manipulates, to gather and destroy the pieces of the Witches' legacy. Hector is/was her accomplice, attacking Echidna (Who might _also_ be Flugel and Satella's daughter) because she seeks to preserve that knowledge. -(SPOILERS FOR THE GREED IF LN) Clind would also be in league with Pandora; Not only does he posses the Authority of Melancholy, he also believes that he and the Witches had their time 400 years ago, and any attempt by them to reincarnate must be opposed. He's also part of a group who "promised to protect the world", but he considers himself "the only one who still remembers that promise", so maybe he isn't directly in league with the Cult. -He also has a mutual enemy with Roswaal, though, and given that he considers Frederica's life more valuable than even ending Echidna's influence (While Annerose was considered worth it to sacrifice), and we know that she has some sort of "special blood", I think she's the key to defeating that enemy, and Clind considers that more important than stopping the Witches' influence. Considering that Frederica is confirmed to be important in the final Arc of the series, I think there's a good chance that, whoever this enemy is, it's also potentially the final boss of the series. Hmm, maybe that enemy is Pandora, and there was some sort of schism between her and Clind? IDK, this is just complete crack guesswork at this point. -That spur of the moment tangent aside, one hitch in my original theory might be that Subaru seems to have some sort of repressed memories of Satella, but there's an easy solution to that; We know Flugel has some sort of connection to the Witch Factors, since the box the Sloth Factor was kept in was made from his bones. My idea is, fragments of Flugel's memories are contained in each Witch Factor (At least, each of the seven "main" ones), and in the Castle of Dreams, Satella was breifly able to activate those within the Sloth Witch Factor. Once someone claims all seven Witch Factors, Flugel would be fully restored (And that's why all seven are required to unseal Satella), but while Subaru will eventually claim all the Witch Factors, I think he'll ultimately reject Flugel, and get rid of the Witch Factors for good (Possibly by convincing Satella to do so). -I see Subaru x Emilia (x maybe Rem? I know Tappei isn't the biggest fan of harems, but two women is hardly a SAO esque "Every woman with a pulse worships the ground he walks on" type of harem) as endgame, and while I'd love for the final scene of the series to be them living together peacefully in the dethawed Elior Forest, watching the (Now natural) snow melt and flowers bloom as Spring arrives, I also can't shake the feeling that a Subaru permadeath is _very_ likely. If he does die, though, he'll die satisfied, loving himself, and surrounded by his found family (I actually wonder if Frederica's future line is addressed to him) -Regarding Rem, we know even in her amnesiac state, she still has some sort of feelings for Subaru, but it generally seems to be much healthier. I think, once she gets her memories back (When Louis is killed by Reinhard, maybe?), pre and post amnesia Rem will merge into one, like pre and post amnseisa Subaru in Arc 6, and she'll retain her deep admiration and love for Subaru, but it'll be much healthier, and she might finally get over her inferiority complex. -One wildcard in all of this is Puck. While I believe that he's the one Emilia will say she hates, I don't actually have an idea what his endgame might be. We know he was "created" by Echidna, but also that he once had a human form, so I'm sideeying pretty much every male character who ever lived 400 years ago. My best guess (Assuming he's someone we've been introduced to) is either that he contains the soul of Flugel, or he's Farsale Lugunica. I don't really have any evidence for the latter, but it would at least be appropriate for the last Lion King to have the form of a cat. -Last but not least, Omega. Frankly, I have absolutely no clue, but we do know that all the Witches are set to return in the final Arc. I do think it's reasonably likely that they'll be good guys like you say, especially if my stuff about Pandora being anti-Witch turns out to be true and she's the final boss, but on the other hand, I don't see them really surviving, either. We know that Tea Party Echidna and Sanctuary Echidna are two different things, so maybe Omega could go through whatever development Tea Party Echidna did to become Sanctuary Echidna, and live in peace with Colette and Palmyra? IDK, that sounds dumb. Anyway, that's about all I've got (Or at least all I've got in me to type out right now). I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have, and I'd love to even just hear your thoughts on it (That goes for anyone, btw, not just Echidnut). Keep up the great work. :)
I actually think this would be one of the most tragic endings. Subaru who endured so much just to not be able live out his life with Emilia, is truly tragic.
Not to mention our world sucks. Literally why isekai is so popular is because this world sucks and people want to feel like they are escaping. Going back to earth would be hell
Why would he leave Emilia, Rem, Otto, Petra, Satella etc and last but not least Patrische. He probably wish he could still meet his parents one last time to let them know he is alright.
My theory is that Subaru becomes the OP character he was meant to become. He'll be the Watcher, Observer, and Guardian the Timelines he made each RbD especially with the What If Routes. He will interact with Rigel and his sister in the Rem Route (admittedly, I hate that route) and essentially torture them mentally by showing every deaths Subaru of that route face and making him more pathetic. That's my theory.
@@fillername236 Unlimited Blood-shed Works: Subaru gain the power of all him who died (not strong unless you combine all of em) and each time he dies now, he will just heal right up as he lose 1 Subaru to his stock and still can use Return by death once the last Subaru dies
I like your ending, but I would edit it a little. Subaru is given a fate worse than death after seeing Emilia trying to seal the witch within her, but it back fires as the witch doesn't accept her as a host, causing Emilia to die. Subaru resets and watches her try again, but this time, stops her, becoming the sacrifice himself knowing how much the witch cares for him, accepting him as her host as he tells Satella how much he loves her; being kind towards her, and reassuring her that they can be together forever. Then Emilia seals him away in the same ice that she was sealed away within, in the Frozen bonds OVA, for all of eternity. But here's the thing, Subaru isn't asleep or anything, he's awake, eternally trapped within the witch's realm, the same realm he visits every time he returns by death, far from the people he loves and always having to keep the witch tethered to him. The worst fate for Subaru isn't dying, it's living. Unable to reach out towards the people he loves. --- Maybe an Epilogue would be Emilia waking up in the human world, going to school along with the rest of the re zero kid cast, living a normal life with her normal parents and cat named Puck. But then something catches her attention as she looks up towards a new transfer student, someone who wears a black uniform, contrasting from their private school one. Introducing himself as Natuski Subaru. (Idk, maybe Subaru gets a second chance at High school with a bunch of friends, and instead of going to the convenience store he goes to Karaoke with all his friends)
I don't think the Archbishops will come back. It wouldn't make sense, since Subaru already has their witch factors. They would just be normal people if anything, and it would make all of Subaru's accomplishments up to then pointless.
Actually, when pandora revived theresia in the arc 5, she still had her ability of sword saint and blessing of death God, and reinhard also had the ability of sword saint
My theory for how Re:Zero will end is that Subaru finds a way to rewrite history in a way that even Return by Death would be affected, and uses it to modify history in a way that brings peace to the world, without having to worry about witch cultists, or evil creatures. However, the price to pay to use such as spell is heavy as expected; Subaru's very soul. Subaru, saying goodbye to everyone he cares about including Rem and Emilia (who finally confesses her love to Subaru) and all of his friends, activates the spell and rewrites history. While he was expecting never to wake up, he finds himself to have somehow returned by death to when he first arrived in the world of Re:Zero with all of his memories intact. Shocked, Subaru runs around town asking people questions and finds out that history has indeed been rewritten. Walking around the town, he comes across Emilia; "Emilia! Emilia! I've been looking for you!". However, Emilia replies only with, "Who... who are you?". Subaru, shocked at first, regains his composure. "N- Nevermind", Subaru answers. Eventually he does meet everyone again, and nobody remembers him or his sacrifice, but Subaru doesn't care; he's satisfied knowing everyone is safe. Subaru sighs in relief, he's finally free. Even if it means that everything he's done to get here is forgotten, even if the fact Emilia will have forgotten the fact she told Subaru she loved him, he's satisfied. No more does the constant fear of death loom over his mind, and he can live out his days with the people he loves, once again, from Zero. This turned more into some kind of weird fan-fiction than a theory but ok.
that's still technically happy though. Sure it's a fanfic wish fulfillment. Though thinking from Teppei's perspective of how he hates happy endings with any of hte little bit happy in them, I think the ending is going to be misery for Subaru.
6:15 Time flows equal in both worlds. This was basically confirmed when tappei said Subaru's parents were looking for Subaru for months without sucess while he was facing his first trial. And in the LN Subaru confirms he's the feeling he will never come back to japan. It is like a the sixth sense of main charecter like naruto knowing that if sasuke and naruto fought until the end, both woud die.
Except, there is a difference: *SPOILER* Satella is different from the witch of envy (think of it like a split personality). The witch of envy is aggresive while Satella is not. It is difficult to understand but you will find out what I mean when Season 2 comes out this summer
@@LuckySevn717 anyways, I was sad to hear the Re:zero would have a sad ending. But when I checked it up, in some QNAs Nagatsuki said that his works are the ones with happy endings(re-zero.com/news/481/), in some interviews he said it's undefined, and in others he said it's gonna be bittersweet. I am right now in confusion with it's ending. I hope that it doesn't have a sad or even bittersweet ending. It would be really sad to see that, especially after watching so much of pain and suffering in the series
Well, my theory would be, We know that subaru has a witch factor and his star name is known as the seven sisters. And when he went in front of the door 4 out of the 7 lights lit up. this could be the number of witch factors that he has right now (4 out of the 7 sisters). all archbishops and their powers are closely connected to their name. which are basically the star cluster names. and in Subarus case, its 'Pleiades cluster' also known as the seven sisters. We know he has 3 witch factors including his own. So my theory is that subaru's witch factor gives him the ability to store every witch factor in him. And we know that he can use unseen hands and the greed thing although it was weaker compared to the original. So what if the power of the witch factor of envy is to control time. And return by death is a weaker version of that. Also if the witch of envy has the ability to control time. it could be possible that she went back in time after Emilia got injected with that. (oh ya Emilia is sattala i mean the author gave that up in chapter 1 of the first arc. and we learn that witch factor was injected into sattala in arc 3) I think the story would end in a place where everything gets started including summoning subaru. The whole thing would be like a snake eating its own tail. A process that is doomed to repeat itself and trapped in itself. One thing of note is that subaru only gets a witch factor when the holder dies so Emilia is definitely dying at the end. edit after the video: ya the witches won't be the good guys. they are basically brought up in the stories as these powerful beings who don't have a moral compass. they will probably be obstacles than useful. or maybe they might give out some exposition but I don't see them being useful. also, the ending you mentioned is too normal the amount of shit that the author made up until now I don't think he will be satisfied with a ending like that
What if Subaru’s mission stops the snake eating the tail- meaning: there is a time warp that resets everything. Satella going mad is equivalent to Emilia freezing others, etc
@@LoneWolfRanging maybe, the best ending we can hope for would be a bittersweet one. if the (pride if) story is any indication it might end with a true death for Subaru. but a total reset feels cheap considering the careful way the author writes. honestly, the best thing about this story for me is that I can't predict anything. nowadays those kinds of stories are hard to come by.
He was going really fast when he first started in 2012. By 2015 he had arc 1-5 done and was starting arc 6 but that’s when he got busy with the anime and other stuff so it took him 5 years to complete arc 6. I would imagine we would be on arc 9 or 10 right now if he continued that insane work schedule seeing as it took him about 1 year to complete the longer arcs (4 and 5) before he got busy
imagine everyone is safe, happy, and alive. subaru wakes up and realizes it was a dream the whole time he has a breakdown at first, and begs for another chance to go back. time skip to 10 years later a voice over starts where subaru is thanking everyone in his dream for teaching him valuable lessons in life and how rich life is. subaru is happily married with a wife and two kids who were girl twins. he named them rem and ram. the voice over starts thanking everyone one by one he’s famous for making a show called re:zero that was based of his dream he walks around in the street and finds himself in front of the convenience store he was at when he got summoned to another world tears roll down his face as the store is being cleared out and will soon get constructed into a big supermarket he steps inside for a while and looks at the manga in the corner of the store “those aren’t for sale anymore, we’re closing permanently.” the shop owner said subaru steps outside on the same spot he got summoned the voice over starts saying “thank you, everyone, for showing me how lucky i am to be alive.” subaru starts to cross the road but gets hit by a car. the music pauses he wakes up to find himself in front of a stall that sells apples. the music resumes “aren’t you gonna buy anything?” the vendor says subaru just looks at him with many tears rolling down his eyes he smiles and says “i’m penniless.” -fin-
My theory, Emilia will become Satella and go back in time for some reason and the anime loops. It makes sense, since Satella loves him and looks like Emilia. The fact that she's againts every witch also makes sense. Maybe in the end, everyone turns againts Subaru and Emilia or the Subaru makes something that makes Emilia envious and the circle is complete. I don't know, just my theory.
I believe it would end with Subaru performing a big final sacrifice to save everyone who he worked so hard to keep alive, but this time he knows for sure Return by Death won't activate either because he lost it, or someone removed it. After his sacrifice he would wake up back at the convenience store with his memories of the other world still intact. He double checks to see if he is dreaming, or if he really is dead, but assumes that as far as he knows he is still alive. He spots someone who he believes seems familiar to him at the corner of his eye and chases after them. He would lose sight of them and chooses to just go back home and ponder about if his sacrifice saved anyone or if it was for nothing and now he has no way of helping anymore. Later when he falls asleep, he is in a dream state and hears the voices of all his friends, each of them thanking him for his hard work ad reassuring him that his sacrifice really did work and everyone is safe and sound. Subaru would wake up to find tears coming out of his eyes and he looks out his window and shouts to the heavens "Good luck on your own everyone!" and he turns around and goes outside to start his ordinary life back up again.
This is the best theory I’ve heard. I never considered that he could *both* sacrifice himself and return to his normal life, but it makes a lot of sense really.
I believe that Subaru will become pride due to not being able to stop events from happening and go insane, but be in the past a set up the events for the show. regain consciousness next the the appa seller, and repeat for ever bc subarus suffering shall never end.
Goosebumps Sad thing though, If he ruturns after he died, It woould really breaks your heart Leaving all you loved. And all those months/ years stuck is just a blink of an eye
I think that (headcanon btw) RBD is the authority of Envy and that Satella passed it onto subaru so she could die (hence why she litterally tells him she gave it to him to kill her). I can't explain why she loves him tho
the saddest ending I can think of is Subaru getting sent back to earth, with or without memories, and having to just go on living. Imagine coming back after all that, and again not being able to tell anyone about it, while carrying all the trauma
The Subaru/Satella/Emilia theory is just there to distract you from the actual godlike theory at 1:12. This does seem to be in line with the author's "bittersweet" ending, though.
After rewatching this video I thought of something. Just imagine the whole cast (all the factions) gathering together defeating everyone and then Satella gets out of her seal. Then she approaches Subaru telling him she loves him etc, they share a heartwarming hug, then Subaru will say something like Subaru: Just as I promised, I saved you my dear Satella. I know it won't be like this, but I can't stop wanting to know how the cast will react to that.
returning to the Subaru's homeworld for a school romance, only for Satella to find out the rest of the cast got summoned so now somehow Rem has become Subaru's childhood friend/little sister (don't take this seriously)
I think Subaru is going to collect all the Sin Authorities, become a Sage. Emilia will reincarnate as Satella, and Subaru will have to kill her to 'save' her - playing right into Satella's hands. He will lose RBD, but gain Envy's Authority. How he chooses to end it after that, idk. Maybe he will die for good. Maybe he'll become the ruler of Lugnica.
older animes did that already and it was not received well each and every time it happened. From there on it became an "unspoken taboo" to all authors and mangakas.
What if Subaru's return by death is just his perspective. His real power is to foresee the future and literally knows the outcome of every action he takes that can lead to his death or his loved ones?
This is very dangerous. You still have chances of dying any part of the way. You will also get mistaken and commit suicide whenever Emillia Rem or Beako dies but die for real because you can't return by death?
29 years would definitely be a bit too long of a wait I suppose. I think that if the author managed to create nearly 6 arcs since Re:Zero's debut in April, 2012 (which is 8 years ago) it would probably take at least 7 years for the story to conclude. It would take even longer for the anime adaptation and I honestly don't mind the wait.
Foward Slash I don’t think the third season would take another 4 years, I heard that season 2 is only covering arc 4 so we have enough material to make a third season out of arc 5-6. But yeah I just don’t think it would take more than 8-9 years
Well the anime has started with Subaru at the store, a sad ending will clearly mean things go south in the fantasy one, it will get resolved somehow...but he will come back in the real world, to apply all that he has learned there, be it with another character reincarnated as the guy says in the video.
As much as I don't want him to, Subaru will probably either die satisfied right at the end of the story (like the Ayamatsu IF) and I have no theories about how it could end (the author could literally go ANYWHERE with this story). I share mostly everyone else's opinion though, I'd love to see everyone eventually learning about RbD otherwise it would probably feel like a missed opportunity to explore reactions of the characters.
I think the war will happen and the thing with Satella, but because of tropes and what not (and Subaru), Emilia nor Subaru will die. He would probably find a way to survive because thats what makes a Subaru a Subaru. He spends a few years with Emilia, but then goes back to japan before the current "apocalypse" and lives life as he did. TWIST: he finds a way to go back and forth later because dedication (and reapetedly dying ) is what makes a Subaru a Subaru. And thats were it would just stop.
Theory: Big battle will actually be arc 10, that ends up with subaru going back in time, taking the name of flugel. Arc 11 will actually be about building new relationships and starting a new life, showing subaru's growth over the last 10 arcs. Befriending shaula, sealing the witch of envy with ried and volcanica (maybe for some time travel setup type of thing?), planting flugel's tree, and then finally dying. I dont think he'll have return by death after being sent back because he dies, and he won't get sent back to japan. This might be the "unhappy ending" that the author was talking about, dying next to none of the people he forged relationships with, dying with nobody knowing who he really was.
Tappei has dropped hints about Pandora being able to nullify/seal Reinhardt's authority. Not saying it's guaranteed but I think it could make the ending more interesting if Reinhardt isn't there at full power. I also think we might see some weird Rem/Ram fusion thing happen. Though that might happen in whatever arc Roswaal goes up against the dragon. He's said that Ram is important for Roswaal's plan after all, and we know that if Rem didn't exist Ram would be close to Reinhardt/Satella in strength. I've seen some far fetched theories that Pandora actually forced Ram to have a twin to nerf her. Not sure if I believe it but there's a lot of evidence (mostly the onii village side story. There's also the weird convo between Rem and Al in arc 3) and it would make Tappei look like a genius. Likely Al and the other candidates will have some kind of role in the finale. And the witches. I'm sure some of the other OP characters from other kingdoms will be there but I kinda hope they aren't. And obviously Pandora seems like she'll fulfill the role of penultimate villain besides Satella. It'll be interesting to see if Echidna/the witches are antagonists or not. I think Echidna works really well as an antagonist. Or at the very least I hope that the alliance between her and Subaru is tenuous and strained. Also I don't think it'll take 29 years for the webnovel to finish. My guess is 5-10 years. Or maybe that's just my hope lmao.
I really want a happy ending for this one. Subaru has been through a lot. I wonder if he would rather be home since he loves the friends he made in that world as well.
damn when he said thanks for a thousand subs i was like wow he got 60k subs in 7 months. Keep up the great work echidnut ive been here since your pride if video and i will continue to support the re zero content.

It technically still ends because he would have to kill himself every time right before the end and i highly doubt that
Neither the hype
Kore ga, Requiem...da.
I see
I feel that Reinhard becomes Subaru's enemy NOT reluctantly at some point in time (because of his mindset of a hero and choosing to save the mass) and Emilia faction's reputation get wrecked at arc 9 but i don't think it become so extreme that darklord Subaru becomes canon
Oboreru is darker and Ayamatsu is sadder (wth sadder?)
he is gonna throw a curveball and it will be a happy ending

Subaru will have a happy ending.
After 30ish real years of torture
just what I want to see
I can't foresee a 'happy ending', I think the best I can predict is perhaps a bittersweet ending. If he doesn't truly die at the end, maybe he'll become permanently disfigured by some unforeseen character or circumstance? But everyone still loves him regardless. This could line up with everyone's characterization
The bittersweet end him saving the world but return to Japan in the end seeing his friends reincarnated in Japan
I wish he does after all he's been through he deserves a happy ending ;)

Implying I wouldn't raise my son on Re:Zero?
hed be watching it with me and it would be a pivotal moment in his young life
My theory is that Emilia isn't a reincarnation or future vessel for Satella, she *is* Satella.
Finis.
Remember when satella killed Emilia because she knew about RBD
Cool but to many loopholes
The witches were already gone before Amelia was frozen. She was in ice for 100 years whilst the witches were gone 400. That is why the witch cultists had the authorities when they were attacking Amelia's home.
I think Subaru will go into the past 400 years ago as he is the sage (probably when he gets all the witch factors and open that door in the Pleiades watchtower) and put all of the events in rezero in place. So planting the Flugel tree and raising shaula. I think the cast will find out about subarus return by death.

Does "subaru not suffering" fit well in the story?

I wish that end too
Very good argument

Emilia can't be Satella because she still alive . Reincarnation is the rebirth of the soul
theory from an anime only who has been filled with spoilers from the web novel:
Satella is freed but Subaru but absorbs all of the witch factors and essentially takes her place, he has total control of all of the authorities and his return by death and is an immortal being.

This would explain the ending image of the first Re:Zero teaser where Subaru and Emillia have a huge painting in what looks like a Church, like some revered legends/heroes. The soundtrack in that part was bittersweet. Gave off an eerie vibe that unnerved me and made me afraid of the possibility of an ending such as the one you described.
PLOT TWIST: *The end of Re:ZERO will show Subaru waking up in a mysterious room full of advance technology then a man walks infront of Subaru and said, "You were a good test subject for my latest invention, Reality Dream."*
It's almost like SAO but better 🤣👍
i think after all this and Subaru comes back to Japan, he goes into an immense depression and commits suicide.
Going with the theme and his mental maturity he would probably live because if he killed himself it would go against his growth but he'd live a productive live but suffer inside
Then returns by death
Some additional tidbits about the theory I couldn't slot in anywhere + Other predictions about unrelated elements:
-The reason why I specifically think Al is Wrath despite it being shaky is because I think it would be poetic if each of the various isekaiers had a connection to the IF stories about the respective sins they gave into.
If he does die, though, he'll die satisfied, loving himself, and surrounded by his found family (I actually wonder if Frederica's future line is addressed to him)
-Regarding Rem, we know even in her amnesiac state, she still has some sort of feelings for Subaru, but it generally seems to be much healthier.

4:57 YOO, THE ISAAC MUSIC FITS SO WELL.
Good one Echid.
I believe Re:Zero will end with Subaru having the choice to return back to Earth, but rather chooses to stay there.
Konosuba . lol
hope so.
he's already on earth because he could recognize the stars
Why would he leave Emilia, Rem, Otto, Petra, Satella etc and last but not least Patrische. He probably wish he could still meet his parents one last time to let them know he is alright.
@@sandro5535 maybe time works differently in re:zero
Man, give me a more valuable reason to live for the next 30 years
There's less of a reason to live after knowing that the ending would be this bogus and depressing
---
Maybe an Epilogue would be Emilia waking up in the human world, going to school along with the rest of the re zero kid cast, living a normal life with her normal parents and cat named Puck.
My guess is that when he goes back To his real world, he meets his friends at school and then the story turns into smthing like Dandadan
I don't think the Archbishops will come back. It wouldn't make sense, since Subaru already has their witch factors. They would just be normal people if anything, and it would make all of Subaru's accomplishments up to then pointless.
That's sorta the schitck of Pandora. She makes your actions meaningless
Actually, when pandora revived theresia in the arc 5, she still had her ability of sword saint and blessing of death God, and reinhard also had the ability of sword saint
That theory might happen but I hope Subaru and Emily will be together in the end but who knows what might happen

Meh, I liked it though
that's still technically happy though. Sure it's a fanfic wish fulfillment. Though thinking from Teppei's perspective of how he hates happy endings with any of hte little bit happy in them, I think the ending is going to be misery for Subaru.
jesus christ I forgot I wrote this
6:15 Time flows equal in both worlds. This was basically confirmed when tappei said Subaru's parents were looking for Subaru for months without sucess while he was facing his first trial. And in the LN Subaru confirms he's the feeling he will never come back to japan. It is like a the sixth sense of main charecter like naruto knowing that if sasuke and naruto fought until the end, both woud die.
this theory made me teary eyed wtf
So basically Satella is the Thanos of Re:Zero lol
pretty much
Except, there is a difference:
*SPOILER*
Satella is different from the witch of envy (think of it like a split personality). The witch of envy is aggresive while Satella is not. It is difficult to understand but you will find out what I mean when Season 2 comes out this summer
@@LuckySevn717 You meant Echidna?
@@sakutaazusagawa208 No, I didn't mean Echidna. It will be explained next episode (last episode of part 1 of season 2).
Man if it gets a bad ending after all that idk if my weak heart could take it
Well, my theory would be,
We know that subaru has a witch factor and his star name is known as the seven sisters.
(oh ya Emilia is sattala i mean the author gave that up in chapter 1 of the first arc. and we learn that witch factor was injected into sattala in arc 3)
I think the story would end in a place where everything gets started including summoning subaru. The whole thing would be like a snake eating its own tail. A process that is doomed to repeat itself and trapped in itself. One thing of note is that subaru only gets a witch factor when the holder dies so Emilia is definitely dying at the end.
edit after the video:
ya the witches won't be the good guys. they are basically brought up in the stories as these powerful beings who don't have a moral compass. they will probably be obstacles than useful. or maybe they might give out some exposition but I don't see them being useful. also, the ending you mentioned is too normal the amount of shit that the author made up until now I don't think he will be satisfied with a ending like that
What if Subaru’s mission stops the snake eating the tail- meaning: there is a time warp that resets everything.
Was that in Arc 6 he goes to the door where Satella is locked in and 4 out of the 7 lights up?
Still wondering about the 4 lights, because as far as we know he has only three : his own, Bételgeuse and Regulus
Damn thats too long these authors need to shorten or make things accelerate a bit faster. Too long a wait for an ending..
MoeChu I agree
He was going really fast when he first started in 2012. By 2015 he had arc 1-5 done and was starting arc 6 but that’s when he got busy with the anime and other stuff so it took him 5 years to complete arc 6. I would imagine we would be on arc 9 or 10 right now if he continued that insane work schedule seeing as it took him about 1 year to complete the longer arcs (4 and 5) before he got busy
imagine everyone is safe, happy, and alive.
subaru wakes up and realizes it was a dream the whole time
he has a breakdown at first, and begs for another chance to go back.

subaru is happily married with a wife and two kids who were girl twins. he named them rem and ram.
the voice over starts thanking everyone one by one
he’s famous for making a show called re:zero that was based of his dream
he walks around in the street and finds himself in front of the convenience store he was at when he got summoned to another world
tears roll down his face as the store is being cleared out and will soon get constructed into a big supermarket
he steps inside for a while and looks at the manga in the corner of the store
“those aren’t for sale anymore, we’re closing permanently.” the shop owner said
subaru steps outside on the same spot he got summoned
the voice over starts saying “thank you, everyone, for showing me how lucky i am to be alive.”
subaru starts to cross the road but gets hit by a car.
the music pauses
he wakes up to find himself in front of a stall that sells apples.

“aren’t you gonna buy anything?” the vendor says

My theory,
Emilia will become Satella and go back in time for some reason and the anime loops. It makes sense, since Satella loves him and looks like Emilia. The fact that she's againts every witch also makes sense. Maybe in the end, everyone turns againts Subaru and Emilia or the Subaru makes something that makes Emilia envious and the circle is complete. I don't know, just my theory.
Subaru walks out of the convenience store and he walks home , then ties a noose and end it all
Filthy Degenerate But then he wouldn’t get laid! Hehe I can still see your original comment
Subaru would wake up to find tears coming out of his eyes and he looks out his window and shouts to the heavens "Good luck on your own everyone!" and he turns around and goes outside to start his ordinary life back up again.
i doubt he would return to japan.
This is the best theory I’ve heard. I never considered that he could *both* sacrifice himself and return to his normal life, but it makes a lot of sense really.
subaru: ohh shit everyone dies
also subaru: its rewind time
Holy Jesus this video is insane, I could feel myself tearing up
it may be jus a theory
but it still make me emotional 🤧
I believe that Subaru will become pride due to not being able to stop events from happening and go insane, but be in the past a set up the events for the show. regain consciousness next the the appa seller, and repeat for ever bc subarus suffering shall never end.
Goosebumps
Sad thing though,
If he ruturns after he died,
It woould really breaks your heart
Leaving all you loved.
Then she approaches Subaru telling him she loves him etc, they share a heartwarming hug, then Subaru will say something like
Subaru: Just as I promised, I saved you my dear Satella.
About the accelerated time part, Al was transferred 20 something years ago, and he is from 80s Japan. So time appears to flow at the same rate
Subaru its outside the convenience store and leaves to his home...
*You can now play as Luigi*
sacrifices himself and dies for good only to open his eyes and see aqua
dammmm let me die for good

@@jkarma3356 meh this is re zero after all. anything is possible.
@@QWERTY-gp8fd he already said it was not.
older animes did that already and it was not received well each and every time it happened.
So we get a new anime season every 4 years?
Foward Slash I don’t think the third season would take another 4 years, I heard that season 2 is only covering arc 4 so we have enough material to make a third season out of arc 5-6. But yeah I just don’t think it would take more than 8-9 years
Yay! 47-year-old me would be very happy to see the ending to Re:Zero! Can't wait to have a grandkid!
I wish Re:Zero will have the best and touching ending in the whole anime
and lift up the isekai genre.

True,if he doesn't get emilia all of his efforts will be for nothing
How do you think Rem would react tho....?
“I’ll probably be dead by then” I’m dead 💀
Subaru at some point his 'Return by Death' breaks down and he is taken 400 years into the past.
Theory:
Big battle will actually be arc 10, that ends up with subaru going back in time, taking the name of flugel.
This might be the "unhappy ending" that the author was talking about, dying next to none of the people he forged relationships with, dying with nobody knowing who he really was.
the author never said there as going to be a unhappy ending.
Damn can’t believe it’s gonna end in that long I’m gonna have to get my kids into this so they remind me
Tappei has dropped hints about Pandora being able to nullify/seal Reinhardt's authority.
