What he meant was that if Bret and Vince had worked things out, the Screwjob wouldn't have happened AND Bret may have stayed in the WWF. Unfortunately both men couldn't put their egos aside.
Regardless of the outcome Bret was leaving. He wasn't going to WCW because of a dispute over creative or anything like that. WWF signed him to a crazy huge contract and a year or so later negotiated for the contract to be dissolved. By the time SS97 happened Bret already had a deal with WCW.
He said that if Vince had actually honored the contract he made with Bret, he might not have left for WCW. But Vince wrote a check he couldn't cash because he wasn't making enough money to pay Bret what he promised, so he told Bret to contact WCW. What came after became the infamous screwjob.
Of course people are bought everyone has a price but in all seriousness company’s/ teams pay people more money to get them to leave were they currently are and not to mention people buy prostitutes so these guys buying “ Bill Gates” isn’t impossible
The Angle/ Puder thing really isn't fair for Kurt... obviously. Puder used an mma submission in an amateur wresting match. Like bringing a sword to a knife fight.
Well, to be fair, as much a vet as Kurt is given that he could adjust with any fight form because he can, he didn't know nor expect Puter was going all MMA at him when clearly the match is agreed to be amateur wrestling. Kurt would have prepared if he was being told prior to that match.
think it might have been when USA! USA! Hacksaw and USA hating Iron Sheik got caught together with a car full of drugs in 87, they were on every front page.
I always wondered why Bret Hart didn't offer to give up the belt that night in front of his fans, thanking them. Then I remembered they were all jackasses.
He did offer. Vince wanted him to drop it at the PPV to Shawn and Bret didn't want to do that because Shawn wouldn't return the favor. The biggest question is why did Vince put the belt on him AFTER he know he couldn't afford Bret and told him to go to WCW.

Not sure if it's this channel or UA-cam but there is no image for any video from this channel, yet there is sound. As far as I can tell both image and sound are fine on other channels. Perhaps there is some incompatibility with this specific channel and the most recent Firefox update?
Puder....I rewatched rumble 05 recently. His punishment for this was absolutely brutal, I couldn't stand this guy but with Benoit, Eddie and Holly beating him up for real while he just had to take it was tough to watch. still a warning to anyone who would try embarrass a pro in future.
Daniel Puder did not win a squat thrust competition. Chris Nawrocki did, and Angle did wrestle him, breaking his ribs in the process. He then asked if anyone else wanted some, and Puder obliged.
The Brawl for All was basically WWF trying to steal some of UFC's thunder by having UFC style fights in a wrestling ring, since they already had real UFC guys like Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn on their roster anyway. They wanted to give Steve Williams a big push because of his badass rep and his connection to Jim Ross, but Bart Gunn spoiled all that by coldcocking him. Then Butterbean spoiled Gunn's buzz by coldcocking HIM... and nothing was accomplished by any of it.
Daniel Puder didn't win the squat thrust challenge to face Angle. One of the other guys did, got beat up, and then Angle went rogue and challenged the other contestants.
Actually Hart was going to WCW regardless of the outcome of Survivor Series. What Survivor Series did was change Hart's departure from WWE from amicable to acrimonious. Seriously watch Wrestling With Shadows sometime.
Thank you! I️ thought I️ was the only one who has noticed this. Get used to it. The creative minds of this company have all left. Literally ever single list video since their main guys left have been taken from their website.
Their videos are all adapted from articles. This is to get you to the website and compare thoughts. They tell you that at the end of the videos now in the credits.
AJ Lee was the one who actually started the women's revolution. For whatever story WWE would like to tell you about match equality, AJ Lee proved that women could actually make them money. Money is what matters to WWE, and AJ proved that women could make them money too. In fact, AJ was one of the top 5 earners in the company as far as merch goes for a good while through her run.
There was that time, the one you missed, where Vince tried to convince the world that he had died... ... then someone really died, and they had to work themselves into a shoot.
Wwe messed up punks return after he won the title at mitb. He turned up a week later, they should’ve done the tournament like they did but then they should’ve had punk return like a month or so later so everyone thinks he’s actually gone
Couldn't WWE have just let Bret drop the title the next night? Bret had more respect for the business than anyone else and would've definitely done the job...he just didn't want to do it in Canada. Just have the match end in a DQ and have him drop it the next night. Just a simple theory.
I know I'm late on my critique of the promo at the end... But how can all these wrestlers be defiant if they're all agreeing to get in front of the camera and say the words "I Am Defiant"?... Smh
ahh the Curtain Call, I remember it being my favorite Goldust finisher. Putting someone split legged in the corner of the ring then kicking them in the balls, good times!
The entire Montreal Screwjob was a work, everyone agreed to it, even Hart. Yes Hart was bitter about it, but he was bitter about all things wrestling LONG before Survivor Series 1997, I'd argue after Mania 12.
AJ Lee's burn to the Bella Twins: 'Talent isn't sexually transmitted' or something like that was hysterical!
Till she hypocriticaly started sucking cm 's junk
AJ Lee could actually perform in the ring though.
AJ was always overrated
Kyle Spratt . I guess you assume she needs to be celibate.
@@TheForeverRanger so could the Bella’s 🤨. The Bella’s were great in the ring nobody wants to admit it because they were pretty
Top Ten WhatCulture top ten lists that mention the Montreal screwjob.
@Bill Blass you're my hero. going boldly where no man has gone before
Did Simon say that without the Montreal Screwjob Bret "may not have gone to WCW?"
The screwjob was BECAUSE Bret was going to WCW
What he meant was that if Bret and Vince had worked things out, the Screwjob wouldn't have happened AND Bret may have stayed in the WWF. Unfortunately both men couldn't put their egos aside.
Regardless of the outcome Bret was leaving.
He wasn't going to WCW because of a dispute over creative or anything like that. WWF signed him to a crazy huge contract and a year or so later negotiated for the contract to be dissolved. By the time SS97 happened Bret already had a deal with WCW.

After the Daniel Puder one, I’m now waiting for Simon to talk about the Blue Meanie getting beaten by JBL
for realzees
The Blue Meanie got beaten up for real by JBL at One Night Stand? WHAAAT? Why has no one mentioned this before?
+Elanor Grimes bc it's the blue meanie😂
I think the Blue Meanie one dosent really apply to this list, it was just JBL being a cowboy.
John Appleseed JBL should die. Not for Meanie, just...in general.
10 Things Adam Blampied Wants You To Forget About Adam Blampied
The Montreal Screwjob happened and Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game at Polk High.
Al Bundy was much better than Bret Hart.
Hell yeah Al Bundy did
Whoa Bundy
😂😂😂
Forgot a big one...
Edge/Matt/Lita love triangle
That was a shoot that turned into a work, not the other way around
Kyle Major Good point
tinotica totally agree
If I had a dollar for all the times they mention the Montréal Screwjob,I could buy Bill freaking Gates!
Michael S. Santos I could but five hundred Bill Gates
Michael S. Santos ....we don't buy people anymore... bit of a no-no really
Of course people are bought everyone has a price but in all seriousness company’s/ teams pay people more money to get them to leave were they currently are and not to mention people buy prostitutes so these guys buying “ Bill Gates” isn’t impossible
Do a ''10 things that have been most frequently occurring in all our lists''

jose guzman We're getting old!!!
Jeff Watkins yup. I was 16 when it happened. UNBELIEVABLE.
jose guzman I was 17, haha.
The Angle/ Puder thing really isn't fair for Kurt... obviously. Puder used an mma submission in an amateur wresting match. Like bringing a sword to a knife fight.
What the hell is a knife fight to begin with?
We Speak WWE ...When you fight with knives.
Ya, what kind of a question is that. The sentence "Knife Fight" kind of describes itself.
It's like asking what color is the blue sky?
I’d say Puter was lucky Angle was in such horrible shape at the time. A healthier Angle would’ve taken him out.
Well, to be fair, as much a vet as Kurt is given that he could adjust with any fight form because he can, he didn't know nor expect Puter was going all MMA at him when clearly the match is agreed to be amateur wrestling. Kurt would have prepared if he was being told prior to that match.
Number 1.5: Daniel Puder getting his ass kicked by Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit at the beginning of the 2005 Royal Rumble.
And Holly. Surprised that wasn't mentioned right after.
It was brutal! watch through the fingers stuff.
Death of keyfabe started when wrestlers and wrestling figures publicly used all forms of social media
think it might have been when USA! USA! Hacksaw and USA hating Iron Sheik got caught together with a car full of drugs in 87, they were on every front page.
I AM .... Tired of that promo!!
segamaya ikr! They haven't done the flipping show yet? It's so repetitive
I AM.... THE TABLE!!!!
Barbara Pitts He did not offer to win and then abdicate the belt AT the PPV AFTER the match.
I
He did not.
Bah-zing!
Bret Hart was already on his way to "Dubya Cee Dubya" that's why the Montreal Screwjob happened. Come on, Simon. You're better than this.
About the Curtain Call, how did the person who filmed the group hug manage to sneak a camera in there? Video cameras weren't exactly tiny back them...
Ah, I see. Okay then. Thank you!
I always envisioned it like a giant TV camera too. But it's the era of a Sony Handycam.
Gosh I love when AJ Lee is the subject of discussion.
AJ Lee shoot was amazing and 💯 on point

KDXtreme ™ awesome idea. NICE!
Hi cult cobana
what aj lee said was so true,
Not sure if it's this channel or UA-cam but there is no image for any video from this channel, yet there is sound. As far as I can tell both image and sound are fine on other channels. Perhaps there is some incompatibility with this specific channel and the most recent Firefox update?
Question: Is the Brawl For All on the WWE network?
Anyone think that Simon will jump ship to MMA On Point?
He has already done videos for them.
Puder....I rewatched rumble 05 recently. His punishment for this was absolutely brutal, I couldn't stand this guy but with Benoit, Eddie and Holly beating him up for real while he just had to take it was tough to watch. still a warning to anyone who would try embarrass a pro in future.
I love whatculture still.
Simon is the only good thing about WhatCulture since the original 5 left
Daniel Puder did not win a squat thrust competition. Chris Nawrocki did, and Angle did wrestle him, breaking his ribs in the process. He then asked if anyone else wanted some, and Puder obliged.
*the top 10 stories that are in every damn WC top 10 list...... ever*
Vince McMahon was a heel before the Screwjob, but not in the WWF. He was a heel in the USWA during the "WWF Invasion" angle.
Same old information.
Good list. Although Bret Hart has stated the Screwjob wasn't about not wanting to lose in Canada but it was about not wanting to put over Shawn
He did want to put him over at first but after Shawn said he wouldn't do the same for him Bret changed his mind
The only AJ that matters in wrestling is STYLES
Montreal... do you watch wrestling?
Most of this list are "shoot" incidents that were turned into working angles.
Will always love the Daniel Puder fight with Angle.
*BROTHER
I was glad I was around when AJ Lee did that live 💯. She is the best superstar this generation. Now Becky Lynch needs her push.
Joey styles shoot was before the ECW comeback as jr left
AJ was right about everyone besides Naomi
Daniel Puder didn't win the squat thrust challenge to face Angle. One of the other guys did, got beat up, and then Angle went rogue and challenged the other contestants.
Actually Hart was going to WCW regardless of the outcome of Survivor Series.
What Survivor Series did was change Hart's departure from WWE from amicable to acrimonious.
Seriously watch Wrestling With Shadows sometime.
Can you create new lists because these are list from whatculture.com. For many people including me we've already seen it.
Hunter Meaney exactly some of them are word for word adaptations
Lol "I've seen this video before but my dumb ass clicked it anyway just so I can complain". Get a life
AJ Lee was the one who actually started the women's revolution. For whatever story WWE would like to tell you about match equality, AJ Lee proved that women could actually make them money. Money is what matters to WWE, and AJ proved that women could make them money too. In fact, AJ was one of the top 5 earners in the company as far as merch goes for a good while through her run.
I'm old enough to remember the Montreal Screw job. I remember thinking they ran out of time
He mocks God-HE MOCKS GOD!
Joey Styles is a god damn super hero!
There was that time, the one you missed, where Vince tried to convince the world that he had died...
... then someone really died, and they had to work themselves into a shoot.
"sucked....up to the right people" 😂😂😂😂 hahahaha
Puder didn't win the squat thrust contest. Angle challenged Puder after the first guy (the winner) got crushed by Angle.
So...the biggest moment in the history of wrestling...is number ten.
I am defiant
*Video starts* Simon starts to talk *Watches the entire video because IT'S SIMON F'N MILLER, FOR GOD'S SAKE!!*
Empire is slowly crumbling
Paul Heyman during Invasion promo with Vince better be there.
Ooooh Damn Maria looks good at 7:45
If number 10 is not number 1, What best have something EPIC.
Daniel Puder didn't win the squat-thrust contest, Chris Nawrocki did.
Who do you think would win a present day brawl for all I think Baron Corbin or Heath Slater
moral of the story: dont work yourself into a shoot work shoot marks
Y'all worried about the Montreal Screwjob, but really they do that "It's like a Mad house and all the inmates are let loose" a lot too
The Montreal Screwjob. The shoots of all shoots.
**placed at #10**
So Vince actually agreed to the Curtain Call? bloody hell
Happy 20th Anniversary!
Im actually shocked WWE would let them say how they feel
Wwe messed up punks return after he won the title at mitb. He turned up a week later, they should’ve done the tournament like they did but then they should’ve had punk return like a month or so later so everyone thinks he’s actually gone
The kimura lock is only a chicken wing. You're not fancy.
Not even close Bayyyybbeeeee !!!
How many times will the montreal screwjob be talked about on constant lists. Any true WWE fan knows about it.
3 pipebombs in a row remember before aj before punk there was a joey styles
If I hear “brawl for all” one more time on this channel... I’m just kidding I love the videos. #EdgeHead4Life
Couldn't WWE have just let Bret drop the title the next night? Bret had more respect for the business than anyone else and would've definitely done the job...he just didn't want to do it in Canada. Just have the match end in a DQ and have him drop it the next night. Just a simple theory.
1:14 Vince McMahon reaction shot #5!
No4 It was Chyna who came up with the weeding storyline
Simon had a Battlefield 3 poster behind him 😊
Triple H was the worst thing that happened to W.W.E.
Why did you use a picture of Scott Hall when saying 'Staying Kliq Members' -- Makes no sense.
Nosrep Suomynona that's the shattered dreams...
The Wrestle Wrant oh right! I got it all mixed up lol
I'm so confused whats a worked shoot then? Would cm punks rant be scripted or not? Any answers would be awesome
The entire Montreal Screwjob was a work, everyone agreed to it, even Hart. Yes Hart was bitter about it, but he was bitter about all things wrestling LONG before Survivor Series 1997, I'd argue after Mania 12.
10:02, I see RomanCulture wants that juicy AD Revenue
But... The ding ding done
