My mom is a professional pianist and she played this piece for me the other day. It was my first time hearing it and I swear it was so magical. This is my favorite piano piece already and I am starting to learn it. Thank you for this video, it’s so beautiful!
You have a great mother! Wish I had such a role model, my mother despises music but sometimes she eavesdrops and I can tell she enjoys a good old Chopin waltz 😊
The retro tone like you said you did in one of the comments below really does work gracefully and does this song complete justice. My favourite composition for this Chopin song for sure!
I've also found it as Waltz No. 18. It was found in a collection of one of Chopin's students, Emile Gaillard. It was autographed by Chopin, but it had no title.
I know this music has Waltz tempo 3/4 , and a lot of people call it a Waltz. But for me it does not sound or feel like a waltz.. Anyone else thinks like me?
depends how you play it. i think it sounds dreamier when you play with a decent amount of rubato and disregard the waltz form, chopin didnt classify it as a waltz i believe
This sounds way better than the other Waltz in Eb that is ‘posthumously’ found and attributed to Chopin - hope you know which one I’m talking about - it is rather boring
oh yeah, this was already 7 months ago, i wouldn't do it that extreme in the future anymore. I use digital plugins and wanted to give this a bit a retro feel if i remember correctly. i overdid it a tiny bit here.
Gamma1734 not at all! in my opinion the “out of tune-ness” is what makes this recording beautiful; creates the feeling of older times. When I practice learned pieces, I tend to add some sort of effect of that sort to make a nice and calming sound
I am 64 and self taught for about a year now. I have been working on this piece. Finally memorized and now perfecting the cadence and nuance. The way you play it is quite nice!

the piano has a nostalgic tone to it which makes the piece sound great and I believe it might have sounded somewhat like this during that time.
Una corda really does magic to a piece...
That's a quality observation - the rarest sort of commentary!
The press and release noise of the keys in this video is incredibly relaxing.
The snap of clothespins sends you? Amazing. : )
This is such a beautiful and calming piece
Finally, a decent recording.

This piece should be much better known. Altogether good work!
Absolutely lovely
I remember playing this albumleaf 3 years ago
Need more Chopin on this channel :).
VERY GOOD!👍
I'm quite sure it's Sostenuto in E Flat, but really lovely playing.
It’s called both
@@Jronix I think Italian.
@@Jronix Sostenuto actually means "Sustained" in Italian.
@@Jronix no

I’d like to think it’s a waltz of the evening. Like a nocturne. The rhythm is definitely there.
Chopin frequently defies convention as to what constitutes a "waltz"...
@@theotherohlourdespadua1131 Yes, he's written both very fast and energetic waltzes and slow, melancholic ones like this.
Yea, it's more of a nocturne vibe.
Gamma can you play for me Chopin’s Op.60 “Barcarolle”?🙏
Did you use always the pedal? Because in my transcription has only a few marks but in yours never appear, thank you and great piece!
the pedal markings are incomplete so its up to the pianist really

Is bar 23, d flat or e flat grace note which is collect ? You play e flat right ?
❤❤💖💖💖💖
Is it me, or is it just slightly out of tune?

Yong so bad
"Waltz in A Minor is the easiest Chopin piece."
i lowkey think the polonaise in a minor is easier?
