Very nice looking. I used to play Flames in an older version, no rules details knowledge anymore. I whould use the German company comander to try unpin if possible?
Fun with some unusal historicals, I do enjoy your skirmish stuff always too.

Flames was my first miniatures game. 🙂 I love revisiting and playing it.

Very nice batrep. Good paint jobs and terrain. A few minor rules boo-boos but you seemed to have caught them all in the narration. Thanks for posting. Just remember wrecks don't prevent moving within 2 inches so the German HQ Pz IVs might have been able to dash past the wrecked Stuarts as long as they don't come within 8 inches of an intact Sherman to support the right hand objective. (Can't dash within 8 inches.)

Great bat rep! Sticking with WW2, would love to see more bolt action.

Man, those were some abysmal rolls for the Germans

Just finished the video -- a couple more rules notes (not trying to be nitpicky! love your videos -- you asked so I thought I would help out where I could!)
    1. The 2 inch bubble around teams to prevent movement only applies to infantry. Tanks can move past each other without any restrictions on being within 2 inches.
    2. I don't think the Stuart moved (if he did, disregard). Near the end of the game when the Stuart turned his turret and around to shoot at the Panzer IVs behind the rocks, he shouldn't have to use stabilizers because he didn't actually move. Turning the turret is a free move.
    3. Rule/strategy tip -- at one point when the Priests did a bombardment, you mentioned that the HQ was spotting for them even though he couldn't see the aiming point, giving the +1 penalty to hit. In a case like that, the Priests can self-spot (which they always can), and then your HQ is free to move and shoot and do other things, since spotting with him wouldn't give any advantage to the Priests.
    4. Front armor vs side armor -- near the end of the game, the Shermans are shooting the Panzer IVs and hitting them in the side armor. The turret counts for the armor as well. If your tank is on the side armor of the hull, but in front of the turret, then you roll a die to see if it hits the side or the front armor. 4+ is turret, otherwise it's the hull.
Hopefully these notes are helpful -- I've been playing for years and still forget/get things pointed out to me. I don't think they would've changed the outcome of the game, and usually, these little rules don't. Glad you and your son had fun playing, that is the most important thing!

Thank you I really appreciate the details as that will help us improve. I just received midwar Germans and late war Soviets so looking forward to doing more. I’ll definitely refer back to these notes before our next game. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to let us know.

Thanks! And it comes in on a 3! We played it as a 4 but even more reliable.

One small rule that helps the Grasshopper OP is that it comes in on a 3+, not a 4+. A little more reliable than regular aircraft!

i'm sure the roll of 1 when going through terrain used to immobilise any vehicle. (going through the boccage) where you would need a recovery vehicle or a motivation test next turn to un-bogg.. might be a rule version 3 thing

I feel you! I’m very lucky to have a good FoW community nearby. But also lucky that my son will spend a few hours to help me out when I just want to play.

Good game although the dice luck on one side was brutally poor.

Those are homemade. Some pennys, paper clips, clump foliage, glue and paint. I’ll have to make a tutorial soon! Very inexpensive and easy to make.

I know it's risky but if you had pushed the American infantry into the woods to assault the panzer ivs it would have been brutal with the 3inch guns

Wrong 88's - those were Flak 36, should almost certainly have been PAK 43. It really doesn't matter other than the FLAK 36's had an L56, the PAK 43 had either an L71 or L73 (from memory). Should you use the correct rules the models don't matter; and against Shermans nor do the a/t guns. But you asked and so... Nice battle though
