This is my favorite racing game of all time. I rented it right around my first trip to Disney so it’s very nostalgic to me. Took me a few years, but I got around to getting my own ps1 copy that I still play time to time (it holds up well!). I have a few small criticisms of the game: (1) I wish there were recognizable characters like Mickey, goofy, Pluto, (2) would’ve liked a drivable hub word, and especially (3) the coin collecting levels I feel were horrible. When you think of racing attractions at Disney, top of mind is Test Track and in this game it is relegated to a coin collecting level, which I find sad. The coin collecting is boring to me. These are minor criticisms though… still a FANTASTIC game! I’d love a remake (probably not a straight remaster as some rides the game is based on are drastically different now - like splash mountain)
I also loved this game so much. Back in the days of my childhood, I always used to play this game at my granddads computer. The music, the characters and the tracks are reminding the Good old times :)
Man the shortcuts in this game were something else! Impossible knowledge like shortcuts behind a wall goes against good game design but i swear this is what made the game magical to me. Finding something hidden in plain sight and the only way to know is to just.. imagine and hope? It's so Disney! That's probably why i still remember this game years later
I was trying to find this game for so long. The only thing i remembered about this game was something about cllecting parts of a broken machine and that it was a racing game i played every time with my family when i came back from school. Thank you for making me remember again.
one of my all time favourite kart racers is a game called Blur, basically it takes real life cars plus very similar handling to need for speed but add’s kart racing style powerups
I actually was expecting this to be about Mickey's Speedway USA, another Disney racing game from around that time. I remember emulating that one once as a teenager and having a surprisingly good time with it at the time.
I used to play this game all the time when I was young. One of my favourite games I remembered fondly. Also, why not try “Muppet Race Mania”, another racing game, and one of my favourite games, I remembered dearly?
Heya! Since it's y 20th birthday today, I've been going back and looking at videos and replaying what was my very first video game. I played probably 100-200 hours on this game when i was 5-9 years old or so and I only occasionally touched it since. Now over a decade later, I found my memory card with all my saves on it and was shocked to find that I got to 104% when i was a child. I very distinctly remembered every track like the back of my hand, knew all the shortcuts, music, everything. I also found out I was a legend on Haunted Mansion (which is also my favorite track as well) and I found I got a 1:07.1, which for a kid is really impressive. I only beat it after I watched various world record runs of it. This was, without a doubt, the best non-Nintendo kart racing game, and I sooooo badly want a remaster or sequel to it. I will do anything for it. It's such a good game, and has so much nostalgia and charm for me. Without this game, I wouldn't have found my next game, which was NASCAR Thunder 2003, and that was my childhood. Those two games. I'm now 20, and in exactly a week, I'll be going to the Daytona 500, the biggest NASCAR event of the year, which I've wanted to go to ever since I first played NT2003. And it's all thanks to this Disney themed Mario Kart ripoff. Thank you for making this video
I am not particularly into theme parks or Disneyland, but I still loved this game because the track design was INCREDIBLE. The tracks were gigantic, designed with lots of care, full of small details and shortcuts! It was so enjoyable to find new shortcuts every now and then...
God I remember having a hard time playing this when I was like 5yrs old. Disney had at least two good racing games, but since the new speed game is coming that makes it three
I never got to play this game, but there was a Dreamcast version, where the solo cutscene had a much better frame rate. This is the Mickey’s Speedway USA of the other systems! I know, mind blown!
I really wish they’d do a carbon engine port of this title. Now that Dinosaur and Splash Mountain are being reworked, it’s really becoming a time capsule of WDW.
I owned this game on the PC as a 7 year old boy and I played it to death. Never got round to playing more than the first 3 levels because 7 year old me didnt know what a save feature was but I still had a lot of fun with this kart racer

I had never heard of this game. I remember having Lego Racers 2 on PC and it was a blast.
