Remember listening back in the late 80's and my oldest son 8 years ago asked me if I remember Social Distortion and I said hell yes! Story of my life! First concert for my 11 year old son it was Great in Ohio. Now he's 19 and my 17 year old we will see them this year! Hell yes again!!

My first punk gig was SD in about 1981.
A few years ago I was riding in my car with my kids (16 & 17). Story of my Life started to play, my son said, “Is this Social Distortion?”
My daughter said, “I can play this song.”
I smiled and turned it up.

I saw a kid wearing a Social Distortion T-shirt in the grocery store and complemented him on his good taste. He said, "You like them? But you're old!!!" I didn't have the heart to tell him we used to slam dance at their live shows way, way back in the day.
Shoulda told him .... then demonstrated!

I first saw Social Distortion in 1983 and saw them in 2023. Still, one of my favorite bands and they put on a GREAT show!!

In 1999 I was a first period apprentice Ironworker and all day long at work I was singing this jam. Then about an hour before quitting time my aunt called me telling me that my cousin caught himself on fire 🔥 at his restaurant while mopping his floor. He sustained 3rd degree burns on over 80% of his body. He’s doing fine these days. I wish I had a happier story to tell but I just thought I’d share this with you. I love me some social D. ❤️

I'm an old fart, and back when mastodons roamed the Earth, close minded music rocker that I was, I refused to attend any country music concert with my wife, ... yet, as a compromise I begrudgingly agreed to see Johnny Cash, who proceeded to make me a lifetime fan with his music, style and hip coolness.....well, 25 years later, this close minded Cash fan has UA-cam recommend this song and I think "Oh cripes, bet they butcher it.">... nope, it too rocked with an excellent take...so, youngsters, today's life lesson is "Always have an open mind when introduced to something new. Ya just never know."
