Just fixed my dad’s 30 year old barber for him. He’s over the moon! Thanks so much for this. Had to unpick the sewing at top of his zip so there was enough room to slip off the zippers on his. Everything else worked a charm two tries and it was realigned perfectly, then I sewed it back together where I’d unpicked the tucked in ends of the zipper.
Thanks :)
Another 30+ year old Barbour jacket revived thanks to your most informative tutorial - thank you 🙏
Everything you need is on UA-cam. Excellent tutorial. Just what I needed - thanks!
Thanks!
This, this is what UA-cam was invented for. Brilliant! Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! My beloved Barbour, 30+ years old, resurrected! Here's to another 30 years!
Cheers to 30 more!

Love hearing about an old jacket gaining life again.
thank you, thank you, thank you!!! my fathers 40y old Beaufort is back in business! again thank you, so simpel.
Thanks, from Buenos Aires! I Knew it had to be from the top off the zipper, but your explanation makes it quite easy!!
So happy to hear the video helped!
Thank you- worked a treat - I was sceptical when I watched your Video but In desperation decided to have a go as I had nothing to lose - incredibly simple when you know how - you are a genius 😘
I’m happy this video helped you out. I knew I couldn’t be the only one with this problem.
Excellent video. One suggested improvement: it would be helpful to add that when aligning the fasteners the top left hand one as you look at the jacket should be above the top right. 🎉
Great tip!
Thank you for this brilliant demonstration, thought that it would cost a lot to repair zip. I did it myself in 10 minutes. Genius.
This happened to me yesterday... you get a 'thumbs up' from me!!!
Thank you ever so much🙌 you literally saved my Xmass I was miserable but your video worked a treat 😍
Thanks a lot! I spent a whole evening fiddling with it, but to no avail. Your tip was the deal, it worked. Fixed within five minutes ;)

What a fantastic hack. My wife had been avoiding her jacket for months and only mentioned it today. Your hack took a minute or 2. I’m a domestic hero again!
That's awesome! I'm happy to hear the video helped. :)
Tks a lot, who thought about that wAy! Nevertheless the delicate version is, if top clamp comes of to reinsert. So go as close as possible to the last position and roll over to get reinserted. !!
This is brilliant, thank you. I’ve been wondering how I’d be able to get my Barbour working again. Thanks soo much.
Hi Alexander. I'm happy to hear this video helped you out. Here's to extending the life of your Barbour!
Success ! Resurrected my 23 year old Bedale jacket. after ten years of hanging on to it. 😍😍
It was tricky getting the clasps off, and almost as tricky getting them back on . I had to widen them further before they would slip back on the cloth.
Many thanks !
Thank you very much for this extremely helpful video! I spend hours trying to fix my mothers 30 year old Beaufort, but with this video I did it in 5 minutes:)
Happy the video helped!

Perfect, I just did the exact same. Was about to prise open those clips at the top but I was worried they would snap but your video gave me confidence to do it and now it’s ok. Tbh I had the devil of a job getting my gillet off with the zip stuck. Thanks. Andy UK

Very helpful, just fixed my jacket ..thanks very much.

Perfect! Thank you soooo much!!!!!
You're welcome!
You rock ! Thanks 👊
So glad the video helped you!
May I ask if there's any recommend tool to remove the clasp? thank you!
A million thanks!
Glad the video helped you Marc!
Thank you. I have tried several times to fix the zip, to no avail. I was looking for a replacement zip when I came across your solution. It literally took a few minutes. Be careful not to slip the end of the screwdriver into your fingers. It's worth wearing a glove on the hand that's holding the jacket.
Happy that this video helped to fix the problem! Thanks for noting your tip.
This helps a bunch!
Thanks mate! I’m glad this video could help someone else.
Thank you so much from Japan. U have helped a lot of folks out there. Btw do u happen to know why this same zipper misalignment issue keep happening to me? Like every timeI fix it , by some random time it will just occurs again and i need to redo it all over again.it’s very annoying. Where did I do it wrong and how can I improve this situation?
Thanks very much!
So happy the video was helpful.
Top tip 👍
Happy you think so.
asem i, iyo, kamfret.... suwun maseh....
I love my Barbour jackets, this is a great video can you do one about re-waxing yourself perhaps using a mink oil as an alternative? I had a friend tell me they use mink oil on theirs.
I only have two of them, and was planning on sending the older one back to the factory for some repairs. I'll ask around about the mink oil.
Just sorted my zip. Much obliged to you
I'm happy the video helped!
Zactly the same thing that happened to mine. I am ready to try this now....
This seems to be quite a common problem. Happy the video helped!
Thanks will try later
I hope it helped!
Quintessential Gent it worked! Thank you for saving me a new jacket
I like that
May I ask what colour is your Beaufort?
I have a Beaufort in olive colour, I am wondering if the colour will change/fade over time.
My issue is simply getting the zipper started at the bottom. It’s very difficult to align. I’ve never had a coat with such a difficult zipper. What trick am I missing. Ordered 3 jackets due to sizing issues and every one of them was very difficult to zip up. Once it started it was very smooth. To be clear i when trying to match the zippers together it just doesn’t want to start. It’s always stuck and I have to wrestle with it until it starts to zip.
I remember seeing a video on this when I was originally searching for this fix. It's best to hold the one side completely down with the large loop, then insert the other end. Hope this helps.
I just can't get the zipper bottom into the slot onto the top of the two pulls! What do I do the be able to get it in?
I think it just is a little bit of trial and error when sliding the zipper back on. Make sure the two sides are aligned, and maybe the smallest bit of lubrication could help the zipper slide back on. Hope this helps.
I think this is the problem with my hoodie but my clasps at plastic and I feel like if I try to beak them off they will snap in half 😭
I wouldn't recommend this approach with the plastic claps.
O gent! This is a very useful video, but I'm worried about your Beaufort: just outside of your r/h pocket there appears to be a substantial tear. Also, it looks as if it's time to break out the wax!
I'm happy the video is useful Jeremy! As for the jacket, it is about time to send it back to the factory for some repairs. Luckily I have another that is in much better condition.
So I'm going to have take pliers and a screwdriver to my $400 jacket because of a shitty design. Great.
