- According to Perkins, he began writing Confessions of an Economic Hit Man in the 1980s, but "threats or bribes always convinced [him] to stop."
According to his book, Perkins' function was to convince the political and financial leadership of underdeveloped countries to accept enormous development loans from institutions like the World Bank and USAID. Saddled with debts they could not hope to pay, those countries were forced to acquiesce to political pressure from the United States on a variety of issues. Perkins argues in his book that developing nations were effectively neutralized politically, had their wealth gaps driven wider and economies crippled in the long run. In this capacity Perkins recounts his meetings with some prominent individuals, including Graham Greene and Omar Torrijos. Perkins describes the role of an EHM as follows:
Economic Hit Man (EHMs) are highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. They funnel money from the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and other foreign "aid" organizations into the coffers of huge corporations and the pockets of a few wealthy families who control the planet's natural resources. Their tools included fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder. They play a game as old as empire, but one that has taken on new and terrifying dimensions during this time of globalization.
Perkins charges that the proposed conditions for this debt forgiveness require countries to privatise their health, education, electric, water and other public services. Those countries would also have to discontinue subsidies and trade restrictions that support local business, but accept the continued subsidization of certain G8 businesses by the US and other G8 countries, and the erection of trade barriers on imports that threaten G8 industries.
In the book, Perkins repeatedly denies the existence of a "conspiracy." Instead, Perkins carefully discusses the role of corporatocracy.
This is so relevant today with the current smoke screen of Hamas attacks situation. Everyone is focusing on the violence and no one is thinking to look behind the curtain.

Everything has been so undermined, and deliberately so, so that the notion of 'democracy' or as some conservatives like to point to, the 'republic' becomes the vehicle for ushering in global dictatorship by and for major corporations. Alex Jones and his ilk, understand that something is very wrong on some level, but they are pointing their wrath in exactly the wrong direction. People don't seem to notice the contradictions in these 'shows' over time, they just listen to what is being shown that day.
Aside from the crass opportunism on exhibit with Alex, he's just a clever show man, and not much more. His audience consists of mainly uneducated people, who finally get a glimpse into the power machinations of the powerful, but never the full spectrum. Whether AJ does this intentionally, given his paleo-conservative leanings, is anybody guess, but whatever he does, is quite effective at holding any further investigations at bay.
Take his black-helicopter UN bullshit, for instance. Does he ever question who actually funds the UN? for the most part? Of course not.
Or his interviews with Paul Craig Roberts. Much of what Roberts has to say about laisse-a-affaire capitalism is actually true, but for some reason, nobody ever confronts Paul Craig Roberts on the issue of Reaganomics, even though he seems to have done a mea-culpa of sorts, being against now. But Roberts was one of the principle economic architects of these policies. Roberts himself seems to have seen this error in judgement, in hindsight, but why is nobody bringing this up? Roberts would probably own up to it, that is if anyone actually brought it up!
Aside from the terrible economic policies initiated by Thatcher and Reagan, with Roberts being fully complicit in this agenda, it is equally true, that the entire Democratic Party, not to mention the Social Democratic Parties throughout Western Europe, all caved into this neo-liberal economic agenda, once the Soviet Union collapsed.
Much can be said about the totally corrupt leadership of the USSR, which had very little to with its original objectives, namely a more egalitarian society - but equally, and this must be said, an equally corrupt system of power was created in it's wake, namely an even more corrupted system, a winner takes all mentality, unhinged capitalism without any checks and balances...the destruction of all common interests, for the sake of profit alone, and this is the system in operation today. This system will destroy any voice of the people, regardless of where they live, and has become so powerful and persuasive, that only global warming (itself a consequence of this system) will most likely create so much chaos and war, in order for to collapse under its short sighted hubris.
The problem is, that this is nothing anybody would wish for, especially those of us in the Western hemisphere, used to all of our consumer goods, without which we would hardly know how to even grow our own food. In this type is dystopian scenario, it is not the technologically advanced world, which will survive, but rather those who do not depend on this technology for survival - with caveat, that their habitat is also being destroyed at the same time.
So, in the long run, we are headed for extinction. Not as Guy McPherson warns, in the next 20 years... it will take longer than that, but as far as Western living standards are concerned? Only a tiny elite will have those in the future, and the rest of humanity will barely get by or simply die off, due to lack of food, water and fuel.
That's the big picture. Meanwhile, some of us, whereever we are, will try to retain some semblence of humanity, before the machines we designed, make life unlivable.

This man really was deep in the game and but all of a sudden his conscious that he put on ice was starting to defrost! When you’re bought in by millions of dollars from the Elite for those type of jobs....it’s super duper hard to leave that type of luxurious lifestyle, the private jets, expensive restaurants, hotels, latest vehicles and no problems getting through customs, the world’s most beautiful women, orgys, sex world trips, beautiful island’s etc....it’s hard to give all that up!!!

Here's a question - and it may be answered in the full version of this documentary, but it was not really at all touched upon in this clip: what is the average person supposed to do with this information? A lot of commenters here (and the people on facebook and other social media that share these kinds of videos) seem to revel in the spreading of the word. And yes, I believe that information is power, so to speak. But when we learn these disturbing and depressing truths without also being given some guidance as to how we can help, how we can do anything at all to fight this, it actually creates more bad in some cases than if we had never known in the first place. You might be thinking "You should bloody well know what to do about it!" But guess what? The average person truly doesn't. We work so hard. We take care of ourselves and our families. We struggle to see our own significance in this world. We are absolutely ploughed and overwhelmed by information via the internet and media, and it is increasingly difficult to know what to do with it. Just because a person learns more about the evil powers that be and becomes aware, and genuinely cares about the situation, feels remorseful for what's happened and afraid of what's to come, doesn't mean they're just going to HALT, quit their jobs and start devoting every ounce of their being to justice. That is NOT every person's natural calling, and there are certain people that simply do not have the emotional and intellectual fortitude to sustain this practice. There are a hell of a lot of honest people in all countries, of all classes, that genuinely care and oppose the evil practices of corporations, agencies, banks, individuals, that don't deserve blanket criticism "you're all sheeple" mentality. How on earth does that really help? A lot of the commenters on here don't even believe there's any way out of this mess. Really? Is that the best you've got? Don't post these videos or spread this information without giving us some guidance on what to do with/about it. It's irresponsible. It just contributes to the collective feeling of helplessness, which is worse than not spreading the word at all. That is my opinion.
Balavan Amiti But you and I and others can do something about it. Peaceful rallies and spreading of the word through numbers. Problem is, people think like you, How can one person make a difference? If thousands do, like the promise of OWS, we have a chance to at least be heard. Resistance doesn't mean taking up arms. Just ask Noam Chomsky, famous dissident. The other option, to pretend there's nothing that can be done, is far worse. If I can at least try to influence some people to keep an open mind, there's a lot that can be done. Eventually, a groundswell of opinion matters. Giving up all hope is exactly what the government wants us to do as it turns us into a consumerist, vacuous society without a voice or opinion. We petition our Congress as one true nation, and, then change can truly come. Until then, we are working for them, who restrict all of our ways, through political agendas.
Through a petition the people can actually, overturn all democracy does. For we have the power, to vote for our Governments, and, we also have the power to vote them out. If we can all come together, and, get a legal petition signed by We The People, with millions of signatures fron all naturalized citizens, then they will have no choice.

No longer will the Constitution, it's Amendments be abridged, or infringed upon, by our Government. For anyone in an Office of Government, whether his rank is high or low, caught in creating a bill, to be ratified by our Congressional leaders, will be an automatic act of treason, against the law's of our land, and, it's people.
For anyone in Office is given their power, by the voters whom elect them, to be our voices. For we the people have entrusted them, to do was right for we the people. When that violation of trust is broken, then we the people have the right, by the power of Our Constitution, to petition our Government, and hold them accountable to the fullest extent applicable, of that Constitutional law.
Never say nor think nothing can be done about this situation. We have the power to change things, but, we must come together as one nation and one voice, in order to be heard. Division is their biggest weapon, against we the people, and, they are winning the battle against its own people, because we are letting them dictate the pace, of all humanity. We are letting them control our agriculture, military, science, economic, education, housing and now healthcare. Why was Government ever created? "For to Govern, is to control." Our unity, only threatens those in power, and, when they see unity, they will strike it down at all cost. Make no mistake, about this here. But, we have to start somewhere, and, that somewhere, is in solidarity, truth and coming together as one.
