I have just watched one of your old videos and you are so thin now. You should be so proud of yourself for coming so far well done!! Curry loaf looked lovely. I could almost smell it xx
I Debbie, I have just made this curry loaf for lunch with all the ingredients that are syn free. Sainsburys curry rice and Morrisons chickpea dahl, with a tablespoon of medium curry powder & 3 eggs. Wow it was lovely, like yourself I cooked it on 200c for 45 minutes in a 2lb loaf tin with a liner and let it cool completely before slicing and it was perfect! I cut mine into 8 slices. One slice with a mixed salad was great for lunch, but could half 2 slices for diner with stir fry vegetables. Thank you so much for sharing X
Hi Debbie, I used to make this loaf quite a lot when ASDA chick pea dhal was free, since they change the Syn value I have not done it since. Thanks for showing us that there is a different chick pea dhal on the market that is still free. As you normally split your savoury rice into two portions I bet you can make this into 3 portions as you have added eggs and the dhal. On a different note if you watch your video @ 3:38 a random pictures of 4 soups come to a video It may have been for a different batch cooking video xxx
Love the curry loaf Debbie I make mine in silicone muffin moulds where they turn out a bit firmer they're great for taster session2 ..simple recipes r always great 4 taster especially with all the new members...I make the onion bhajis 2 go with them2, but it's always the Ferrero Roches that go 1st lol I'v never made them...far2 tempting2 eat them all in 1 go xx
This is one of my favourite lunches although I have to say I haven’t had it in a couple of months so thank you for the reminder. I cook mine using the paper loaf tin liners available from Poundland or home bargains, they make it a lot easier to get it out of the tin. I also get three portions out of it. I enjoy it most when it is hot but also delicious cold too.
Looks lovely Debbie , I have got the Heinz creations and aldi veg rice which is free for the curry loaf so I shall make this next weekend test it for our next taster session xx
Yes I’ve stuck that rule but honestly I wouldn’t have thought it would make a difference if you eat is sensibly. I’ve eaten it regularly since this video was posted and lost a further two stone and also maintained for two months x
Nice one Debbie. I thought 2 slices with some chicken and salad or veg might be very tasty. Of course the chick peas in the dahl are protein but a little extra protein might make it more filling. Nicely done! Love Jane x
I'll definitely make that Debbie. Allan would love it too. Put parchment paper on bottom of the tin next time, I'd say it would come out perfectly for you. Tks for sharing. 3 filling lunches, that's v good. Jx
I've seen this from time to time but never made it. I think I'll give it a go now as yours looked good. I'd be interested to know what you think once you've tried it Debbie. Thanks for sharing. Xxx
Yes that’s absolutely fine. I slice it up then wrap in kitchen foil. I usually get it out of the freezer and defrost overnight before eating next day, I eat cold or warm slightly in microwave, never had any problems x
Mmmmmm now that looks delicious and I am going to have a go at that. Would be ideal as a snack when your just wanting something filling & don’t want to use syns. Will you re-heat yours Debbie? Thank you for sharing xxxx
Got all the ingredients today Debbie so going to make tomorrow to have for tea, then take some to work on Saturday night. Will take a photo & put on Instagram can’t wait to try this xxxx
