Thanks for the video. Just upgraded my Delux ReActive with a MegNeg on the Slash after getting beaten up on a rowdy trail. Trying it with 2 bands and 1 token at 210psi for 85kg (approx including water) Already can feel a big difference off the bat with initial shock movement. Can't wait to take it out on the trails and test it. Watched a couple times to ensure I was doing it right.
Piers B. Do you test on you slash? Do you recommand it to upgrade? Lot of people say that you will have to open up the rebound.. do you have any problems?
@@DjFischdackel I put more air in the rear shock compared to standard. The shock comes alive, it has much nicer initial compliance and support. I went back to 2 tokens in it and 2 bands in the MegNeg. Added 25psi more air. It tracks so much better especially on tech climbs. Worthy upgrade as I was considering a shock swap initially.
I also ride a Trek Slash. I put the MegNeg on and I like it, but I have to run very high pressure to achieve 30% sag. I weigh about 183lbs with my gear and I have to run 262psi with 2 bands and 2 tokens. The bike feels great, but I'm not sure if others are having to run so much pressure for proper sag?
Тоже долго накачивал амморт - по ощущениям раза в два больше воздуха и давляк в 16 очков минимум (рычажность рамы х2, вес 90кг). Все проставки из позитивки и негативки выкинул - ощущения как на настоящем пружинном амморте!
Thanks heaps. I had to get a shop to do the part with the wrench strap but everything else was easy to follow. You might want to make the font a little bit larger for those of us following along on our phones :)
Your video does not show the installation of the dust wiper, seal and white bushing on the new air can. I followed the video and I have air leakage. I'm suspecting that I did something wrong. The PDF doesn't show the installation of the dust seal, seal and white bushing either. I suspect that may be the issue. i
I also had the same question when my kit arrived. I assumed the order in which they were called out on the Sram pdf was the correct order, but I didn't want to take any chances. Luckily I found a picture of the orientation on PinkBike to be 100% sure. I hope this helps. ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb21649674/p5pb21649674.jpg
hi I have a 2022 scroll pro and I want to buy megneg, did you have any problems with the clearence of the shock with the frame? I'm afraid that it won t fit in my frame, if it fits how many bands did u set after all and how many tokens in the positive air chamber
my santa cruz nomad4 feels like in coil fuckin shock, very planted, 2 bands without tokens 250psi setup is almost perfect to me.. megneg is the best upgrade for just 80usd,. now, i like my super deluxe with megneg than my fox x2..
Hi, I think that it is compatible, but better ask directly RS Support. They have on their site fratures as follows: "- compatible with Deluxe and Super Deluxe shocks - not compatible with MY21 Super" Deluxe Ultimate ThruShaft But "ThruShaft" has different design of air can than other types...
Hi, the part number is thr same for all RS-UPK-MGN-A1 You have to choose one one three according to dimensions of your (Super) DeLuxe Shock, if is 47.5-55mm, or 57.5-65mm, or 67.5-75mm. Every bike frame is different, so you have to check dimensions and clearance on your bike before buying. Mine doesn't touch anything, but it has only few milimeters of clearance.
@@pekarovsyn hey so I installed mine last night and I’m also losing about 10-15 psi after a quick 5 min ride do I need more grease around the seals I really didn’t pack the grooves good
@@808mtbhawaii3 Hi man, how did you inflate the shock after installation? you need to increase the shock pressure after 50 PSI steps, than spring it 10 - 20 times, than another 50 PSI and spring it until you get the pressure you want. You need to balance the pressure in both positive and negative chamber. Have you tried to pressure it again?
Standard service was done day before, therefore I didn't clean everything once again. And the megneg seals were pretty oily, so I dodn't put the grease them. As you have seen, the seal slided in very nicely. So don't worry, everything worked just fine...
Hi, you have to try, how many of those rings will make you ride the best. It is hard to say if it depends on your weight, because i don't know, if you like stiffer (more progressive) or softer (more plusher) feeling of suspension. It depends also on how many tokens do you have in positive chamber. I like more progression, so I have more tokens in positive chamber and no red ring in MegNeg chamber.
@@pekarovsyn thx for answer,my weight is oroind 100kg and I like some freeride and park ride, including drop,so I bet 2 red bands for negative is that correct ,
@@akaproductions490 Hi, it is really hard to say. It is different by DeLuxe and Super DeLuxe shock, also there is difference between different styles of suspension kinematics. It is personal preference and you have to test, what do you like most. Two rings in negative chamber is for beginning good start. After that you can choose to add/remove more, or add/remove tokens in positive chamber.
How about step by step. You don’t show how the seals go into the air can. Get rid of music and talk people through what exactly your doing. Not a good video 👎

Although your video is “somewhat helpful” the guys partially correct- you didn’t show, or even mention that there’s seals in the bottom of the megneg can so how helpful is your video actually? You neglected to show or mention one of the very first steps. Learn to take some constructive criticism dude. And ya know what- there ARE other videos out there so…… just sayin. just fyi to anyone reading this comment, most of the time you can do it with your hands and you dont need a special tool.
Great video. Really helpful thanks for posting. Very precise.
I have a Vitus sommet with a deluxe select plus fitted 2023. The rear wheel feels draggy and there is pedal bob. Will this help that?
Thanks very much for this.
This is a great video. Thanks for showing l. I have a megneg on the way now!
thanks dude!
I Really dont understand how you could fit the outer sleeve over the meg neg. impossible with the big o-ring with just using the hand.
Great video, took minutes to install mine 👍🏻
Thanks a lot, very useful video 🤘
thank you, very helpful.
Has anyone experienced a slight bit of play in the shock when first installed? I’ve just upgraded mine but something isn’t right ??? Any help???

Why you set bands? Less bands - less linear - firmer start stroke.
Just got my MegNeg kit. My seals were not pre-installed on the new can as yours seem to be.
Hi. Also my MegNeg came without pre-installed seals.
Thanks for your demonstration. I’m interested, but it would be possible to tell me the outer diameter of this Megneg ?
Thank you very much...
Hi, biggest outer diameter of MegNeg air chamber (at the bottom lip) is 56 mm.
Hi, thank you very much for your answer, I will be able to order it and then install it on my bike ! good continuation !
hey what negetive band its the orange and the positive is the black?
Does your megneg come with an extra dust seal? I had to use the seal from my deluxe, but might have compatibility issue since it’s leaking.
