Hey epf, that red breast sunfish that you caught may have been a black eared sunfish. This species is only found in the Delaware river. This fish is very similar to the red breast but with a slightly longer ear. I believe that this is a black eared sunfish but you could do more research of you dont believe me. Hope this gives you a new species!!

I fish there all the time Leo and have a couple videos from that exact spot. That corner wharf spot is perfect for Catfish or Stripers but it is definitely hit or miss and has slowed down during the years. If you want to bring your heavier gear out you can fish the pier and land bigger 5-7 lb catfish from there as well. Sometimes the night bite is better. Good luck!

Damn EPF, right in my home town, right out on that new dock you would be a cast away from the channel. But right across from where you were is Burlington island and it has a lake that is loaded with fish
I lived just up the road from that exact spot. Back in the 90's I've pulled some monster channel cats from that spot!! Always used to catch a smaller eel cut it up like hot dogs and 5he catfish in that spot love them.. you can also catch perch bluegill carp eel I've even reeled in crab in that spot of the river yes crab. And just a ways up from that spot is the Burlington Bristol bridge also great fishing. And in the other direction by the old boat ramp in croydon I caught a flounder again yes flounder I was surprised but some old timer told me somehow they do find there way up the river occasionally. But you would have better luck for big cats using eel as cut bait over that perch!! I've fished that spot thousands of times..
Spend as much time as you can fishing with family I lost my dad when I was 12 and slowly lost my older brother to drugs....I'm a successful fisherman who has found some incredible spots and I can't even share em with my brother or dad. Lifes hard but I'm gonna fish harder

Next time you go to Florida can you do a video targeting red drum or black drum I know a few good spots around cedar key Yankeetown and deckel beach for multi species fishing
Enjoy your vids and also live in Philly. Im gonna let you in on a little secret that i guarantee will catch more catfish. Ditch the cutbait, and all the extra time and effort. Go buy some thick cut chicken breast and a jar of cherry KoolAid powder. Cut the breast into 1"x1" chunks throw it in a ziploc and dump in some koolaid powder and let it marinate overnight in the fridge. You will SLAY them.

Generally bluebird skys are barometric pressure days , and most fish dont bite well on high barometric pressure
You should of used the eel for bait. Every time we use them in the Delaware River, catfish are big we catch.

I caught my first ever Large mouth Bass today, EPF! 16 1/2 inches! It was a chunk!

If want to catch really big flathead catfish take a small channel catfish and cut off it’s 3 fins that can hurt you and use it as live bait.
I caught a 4.2kb bass on a pink hair jig that was 1/2 inches

I used to. But after I learned of their life cycle and read about their population decline, I no longer use American Eel as bait.
