Thank you so much Boyd! Just what I want to do too and excellent video and tips . Much appreciated. Happy Railroading. Esp liked know what battery and where to get it as well.
@@fearlessmtb Thank you again. I went o RLD hobbies, they have a flat [HJE 5S2PF] and a non-flat battery [HJE 5S2P(5+5)] is it the flat one that you used? thanks so much again and happy railroading!
Battery should be standard on G scale trains now since track on the outside has so many issues when it comes to cleaning.
I know this is unrelated to the topic, but what do you do with the rails when it rains?
I use stainless steel track from Sunset Valley Railroad. They stay outside all year (rain, snow, wind, heat) with no problems
How long does the battery last? I assume it takes about 30 - 60 minutes to charge.
I can’t give you a definitive answer, but I’ve been able to run my locomotives for over 3 hours on 1 charge (pulling 30-40 cars)
@@fearlessmtb o that's plenty of charge! I think I'm definitely making the switch to batteries.
