Bud, this is one of the best watch videos I've ever seen. This video is better than any video ever put out by Hodinkee
Hodinkee are slowing imploding
Dude THANK YOU!
Adam knows Rolex and is a trust worthy source for vintage watches. I like how Adam brought 4 different era vintage Subs, and walked through the + & -'s of each so the chef could make an informed choice.
Thanks!!!!
This man’s knowledge is insane …
Great episode. I love learning about vintage watches and who better than Adam!
Thanks so much!
I'm torn between the ref. 5513 and the ref. 16800, I love them both😊
We do too! Adam says 5513, jordan says 16800. LOL
This was a gem! You really get easily into depths of different watches when somebody is actually considering and comparing between multiple options. Too often you just get presented one watch and it leaves up to the viewer to do Googling or watching other videos to really catch the differences.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Love this format
Love the studio and the lighting looks killer!
Such a good video. I love the detail that you go into
Fantastic video! Such a great way to explain the differences between references. More please!
Thank you! Will do!

Exceptional content! Really appreciate you keeping the focus on the “passion” aspect of collecting rather than market value
We agree! Thanks for the support!!!
Damn, Adam, you got me with this. Now I want a 5513 with a gilt dial. What a beautiful piece. As always: Great content!
We’re here when you are ready!
He straight went in for that bag as his neighbor was and snatched it out from underneath him haha

Love your videos!!! You got me into the vintage watches!! Now i want a vintage watch. Do you send the watches to get service?? Im new to this
So how much does a c series run? Difference in price with ap up or down on dial?
I would say his C series should sell in the 50k range.
Really enjoyed the video
Danny’s the best!
We love him! And his food is top!
Great job Adam...
This video was like old red wine with all vintage watches.
Great video Adam. That man has one hell of a collection, beautiful 6263, 5402 and zenith.

If there is better vintage content i haven't found it yet
🙏🏼thank you for the kind words
What an amazing collection..please dont trade that collection in for a Paul Newman. All the years searching and hunting building that collection just to trade in for one very special piece.
He’s owned them for so long and enjoyed them, it may be time to change it up!
You said in the beginning the Submariner was produced starting in 1954. I always thought it was 1953. Have I been wrong about that?
Rolex announced the Sub in 1953, but it took until 1954 to get into the ADs to purchase.
@@dannysimenauer5745Navy trialed them, '53 watches lack the blinking Mercedes
Yep!!!
@mentawatches Ok, very confusing though. I recently watched a great Hodinkee video on the history of the Rolex Submariner and they say 1953. It seems like even experts differ on the year.
I know you aren't a huge fan of birth year watches but is a 1989 sub a nice reference year?
Sure! Lot of nice stuff made in 1989!
@@mentawatches what Rolex(40mm and above), would you recommend from 1989?
All of the guys daytonia and ap were classics.
So cool that he uses his watches to time in the kitchen
He’s the last of a dying breed!!!
I didn't know Tony Stewart was a watch dealer.
Need a hour video
If you gonna wear your watch above the bone go bigger, Waaaaay bigger so it fills up the wrist.
men need to spend the money they spend on shoes (kids nike sneaker collections) and 10 thousand dollar watches and spend it on a wardrobe
We’ll call you when we need fashion advice! Thanks for watching
Forget the rest, buy a 5512 and you will never regret it. I bought my 1966 5512 used in 1973 for $150. and have never thought of wearing any other watch.
Zen ith not Zeenith.
Is there a bad vintage submariner?
With the history of these watches, I personally would keep them. I think the Paul Newman examples are way overrated, and that a swap would negate the history this man has with his current watches. But, that's what makes a market.
Why would anyone want to buy a vintage watch just to bang it up in the kitchen or a workshop? Thinking that leads to such decisions is a mystery.
Overwhelmed with horology wisdom, but disappointed as I tuned in for the seafood.
You’ve had enough :)
I inherited a mint 5513. It’s really small face. I don’t want to look like a chick but damn. What to do?
"I wouldn`t go swimming with a dive watch; even a 16800 with Sapphire Crystal 300 mwp" How silly 👎
I urge everyone to buy a gshock and take that swimming if you really need a watch while you swim
