    I think people are probably more pissed because you’re flying past pedestrians and bicyclists at a much higher rate of speed than any other bike with a bike that weighs a lot more and cause seriously injury. Not being nagger. Just pointing it out from another perspective. Sweet Grizzly!

      I tend to agree. In general, when on paths that only allow class two, only go at class two speeds, especially if there are people around.

    • @cv2010u
      @cv2010u 2 роки тому +3

      @@notsoanonymous2458 I hope that doesn’t happen. I think because manufacturers set the speed to 20mph and have an unlock feature so that the consumer is responsible, it protects the ebike as class 2 which doesn’t treat it like a moped. I would hope to see tickets being handed out instead of turning this into motorcycles requiring all you mentioned.

    i think the problem people have is not so much the helmet. is the fact that your bike go as fast as a car, so why not go on the car lane and not be on the bike lane where people go no more then 15 to 20mph while you go 35, 40 mph. if a crash happen, the person on the normal bike is like being hit by a car..

  • @mrninesixteenth3106

    Another thought. I can immensely appreciate the idea of using a motorcycle helmet when you guys eBike. I mean, I need a helmet for my eScooter that tops out at over 55 mph. Anyways, I can also appreciate the way some people get upset seeing you guys on the bike paths. You begin to speak of it at the 7:00 mark. Similarly, the way you feel a need to protect yourself by wearing a motorcycle helmet to mitigate possible head trauma if you have an accident. It is in this same way a proactive minded person feels the need to protect everyone by mitigating a possible accident. An accident between a biker, runner/walker, kids (etc,...) that might be on the same bike bath with a fast moving, non-restraintive eBiker. I have NO doubt you know this and I am only entertaining it because of safety. It is, that the helmet signifies to everyone that "you" (or helmet bearer) are aware that your eVehicle can reach speeds higher than the level of protection that a $10 Wal-Mart bike helmet can provide. Speeds that may be inappropriate for a bike path. So knowing that means, you know you should NOT be there. Believe it or not. I honestly (NO BS) saw a eScooter riding in the middle of a traffic lane in front of rush hour traffic and crossing an intersection on a green light with cars behind blowing their horns at him. Oh, and as if it makes a difference, I don't mean a high powered eScooter either. I'm talking a "Bird" style, 15 mph max scooter, and this was in Los Angeles. WTH?! Right?! He knew he shouldnt be there just like you knew. Because you know the speeds you can attain can lead to a higher level of bodily or property devastation in an accident. With or without injury is irrelevant but knowing that higher speeds can be involved are frightening to everyone else. Should I be allowed to drive a Dragster on the streets because it has signal lights? It's all about classification. Right? Such as Sports Leagues for Men and Women, Boys and Girls and with age categories/restrictions. I think it's the same. Truth is they don't know you at all. They also don't know if you will exercise restraint to riding at high speeds on these paths. History dictates many can not restrain themselves. All it takes is for it to happen once. Then people react to it. Or you have people with a proactive mindset whom are geared towards prevention of vehicles capable of going beyond a certain speed on these paths. Beyond a certain speed? Hmm, is this why we have classifications on eBikes and other eVehicles that are faster than their counter parts? I'm not sure about you, but for me speed excites me. I love it. But, I have to exercise restraint everyday with the vehicles I drive. Its not always easy either, even at my age. All I can really truly ask of you is to be careful. Please.

    • @JB360_NYC
      @JB360_NYC  2 роки тому

      I appreciate the insight on this. I think like you said the assumption from other people is that because we have full face helmets on, we have very fast bikes which is completely understandable. I think the grey area lies as to how he/she (the rider) handles themselves when on the trail. Are they the type to just zoom by casual cyclist at 40 mph or are they the type to pop wheelies on the crowded paths. And then there are those that respect others on the trail and ride slowly when passing them. It can be hard to distinguish that among riders on the trail that's why I mentioned the assumption is that we're wreckless and are speeding throughout the park. It's just unfortunate that many careful riders get a bad rap because of other ones that disregard rules and safety.

    • @mrninesixteenth3106
      @mrninesixteenth3106 2 роки тому +1

      @@JB360_NYC Right, but be advised. There is NO Grey area. Wearing a full face helmet (especially on a motor cycle looking eBike) to them is the same as a person walking in a liquor store with panty hose over his face. You ARE automatically the bad guy if you are on a bike path. If you just happen to be riding slow and respectful at the time that's Great! They have nothing to validate that previous belief and it's purely speculative. But, it may not change their perception of you. Ironically if you were on a Evil Knievel looking pedal bike with that same helmet on you'd probably get laughed at. Additionally, what they may be thinking is you WERE just clowning around going too fast until the second they seen you. Or, you WILL be further down the path. To them the potential is the same because the helmet signifies your eBike is high speed/high powered, and YOU realize more protection is needed, and you don't belong on the path. If you are doing it or not, it does not matter. Remember, they don't know you. To them it's the same as that guy with panty hose on his face walking into a liquor store. Watch him, cause he's more than likely up to no good. Or in your case, all they may perceive is, he's got on a full face helmet, so it's fast eBike. Its too fast for the path and if he's not flying through here at the moment. It's because he just did, or he's about to. The curve ball as we know is, you have some ignorant people doing crazy stuff like that with a regular bike helmet or without one at all. IMO the full face helmet riders will always get the bad rap. Bottom line is, you can only control your own actions. Not the actions of other riders with similar helmets. Just be careful Sir. I've seen lots of eBike crashes here on UA-cam. The short list is for: Some just going too fast, Some for clowning around doing stunts. Some not paying attention, Some were doing everything right, and Some for absolutely the most dumbest shuggity you can imagine. Be safe out there Sir and please continue to ride responsibly. 9/16ths.

    Supperz JB! I've bugged you once, but I gotta pick your intelligent brain on this one (for your advice/opinion). If you were me, would you SELL the Grizzly V2 or KEEP IT and simply upgrade the performance with an E STREET PACKAGE? I was leaning towards an ONYX CTY 2, but the pedals are useless on that. With the Grizzly I can use it for exercise and have a 60 or 72 volt upgrade, right? What do you think is smarter? - Also should I upgrade my brakes to 4 pistons? - OH and one thing....Has the ESTREET BIKE PACKAGE had any issues? Like the motors / controllers?

    • @JB360_NYC
      @JB360_NYC  2 роки тому +1

      Hmm if it were me I would def go the Grizzly route with the 72 Volt upgrade. The only thing is the pedals for the E-Street bike don't work the same way the stock does as it is just there for looks honestly (just like the CTY). The E-Street Grizzly package is worth it alone not only for the range but the performance as well. You'll have no issues doing a 50 mile ride cranking the throttle through most of the ride.
      4 piston is def ideal for the upgrade to account for the heavier weight and higher top speeds you'll be getting.
      I've had the kit for just about a year now and have had no issues with the motor or controller. The sabvotons are awesome controllers and I wish I went with the 100a version for higher top speeds 😁

The range I get with my setup realistically is about 35 miles and that's with riding it aggressively and speeding it more than a few times.
