I bought a used Grizzly V2 back in April and almost immediately blew the rear controller, which I purchased from Ariel Ryder for around $400. That's just the risk of buying a used electric vehicle with over 1000 miles on it. However, it was well worth it because this baby is a battle tank on these rough and highly unfriendly NYC roadways. I'm about to transform it into a completely new bike over the winter and have it back on the road by Spring 2024.
I have one also, I'm happy with mine the way it is. But a lot of people want these bikes to be motorcycles, by going to more powerful controllers like the far drivers, and Sabvatrons 72 volt 150-200 amps which is crazy to me. Good luck!!
Glad you finally got a V3 Grizzly. I also have the same. Set the wheel diameter to 22" and the speedometer will match the GPS app. I also have a Wired Freedom E-bike. The Grizzly has more torque with both motors turned on. Thanks for the review. I think the Grizzly will take the throne away from your Citizen E-bike.
Just bought mine a month ago and love it. I bought the yellow which came in a more gold shine that matches closer to the shocks. Going to upgrade the handlebars soon and add some storage on the back. Super fun but gotta ride carefully.
Great vid. I personally love the handlebars. Very distinctive and gives one more bar to work with for mounting things it looks like. I'm eyeing the Ariel Grizzly for future purchase.
I may look into changing the handlebars but bmx bars would end up being shorter. I probably have to get a stem rise also and I'm not sure how that would look.
@@sbukosky I have the same model. I never saw them as ugly. I like the decals and everything but that aside, I feel similarly when it comes to what it provides me. Someone who doesn’t want to need to mount multiple items beyond the standard handlebars’ surface area won’t get the added benefit of this odd ladder design. (Hmm. I wonder if the design is stronger.) So, I understand focusing on that more in those cases (or any case, if it’s your money and not mine) but I’d love to put my goodies on that sucker in its stock configuration. Lastly, I thought it didn’t fold. Then the unboxing showed the tired next to each other and I was about to be blown away…until I saw they were there because one needed to be attached. 😆 I went on a whole rollercoaster ride by myself.

I have a rad city 3 e bike that I have 4300 miles on. It is 2 years old. I use it almost every day during the summer commuting to save on gas. The build quality is very good. My rad city has a max range of 40 miles at a max speed of 24 mph. But depending on conditions headwinds I get about 30 miles at 20 mph. Pls advise on the bicycle option because I use the e bike as a work out machine and not as an electrified scooter. Thanks
36 mph is where the motors meet their natural loaded RPM for the voltage. 36mph is very healthy, but if you do need to go faster you need controllers with field weakening, or go to higher voltage batteries which will be expensive and not as good looking. I'd be fine with it stock, but that throttle delay would drive me nuts! It will be interesting to see if the Citizen Cycle can beat it. @@jdgoesham5381Yes they not design for road reason they wore out fast. For pavement you need a tpi60 rated road tires that grip the road better and better performance. Pretty much the Innova hybrid, or Chaoyang Arisun tires are good for pavement and light. I put 2500 miles on a set and no flats with no flatout. $140 bucks in states, or $98 from china typically if you can wait.
🐍 Grizzly tires stand tall out of the box and give the best top speed for the first 50 miles or so, then the nubs wear down and the sidewalls soften and lower the tire profiles. E-Huntsman tires from VeeTire restore the taller tire stance & give you back a 2-3 mph increase.😉👍
I haven't heard Huntsman's giving you more mph. It might be able to maintain the mph but the acceleration and torque will be affected because of how much heavier and higher density they are compared to the stocks.

I think it definitely looks better in person. Great power too
buy a cheaper aniioki aq 177 and add a secound motor to the front I get more range too at 52 volt 60 ah
E bike maintenance going on here today. Getting 2 more e bikes so everyone here can ride one lol, and I’m addicted to e bikes so it just makes sense😅
Yes, gotta have enough for everyone.!!
@@CitizenCycle925 sounds like you know the struggle 😂
🐍 Make sure you choose a worthy hill to do your Citizen Cycle AWD challenge and stand on the pedals with your CHEST OVER THE FRONT of your handlebars to tame the front tire spin. 🖖🤙
How much did you pay for it man. Don't be shy....
Grizzly all the way beast of a bike.
came for the rad, stayed for the beard
Haha thanks for sticking with me!
How is there not a clearly superior ebike by now? There are like 400 ebike companies now.
i guess it depends on what you mean by superior, there are certainly faster full suspension bikes out there that are way cheaper. the grizzly is a great bike though.
I get it the other way. I was shamed in your comments several months ago because I pedal. I was told "nobody buys an E-bike to pedal." I'm recovering from 3 strokes and spent several years barely able to walk. My e-bike gave me my legs back. You try pedal up a hill with one leg. lol
People are ignorant trolls, ignore them.
Something tells me that they are not true 1000 watt motors, 750 at most..
They’re are 1000watts feels even more nominal over 2400watts.
If it's $2,500 or just over used price I would probably do the deal.
What a bear of a bike!
the name sure fits!
Good to see you push it to its full potential 👌🏼. Gives a much better idea of its performance.
My v 2 grizz controllers blew up then caught on fire between my legs with just 10 months/700 miles on the warranty and Ariel wont pay for shop labor to fix it. Parts only. Bad business for Xi-Nese garbage. Anybody want it?
Lucky you live in a nice light area. Too much darkness in mine, that bike would be gone within a day if i parked anywhere outside.
I think the grizzly has 25 amp controllers.
30 amp
@@Vicki-gz3vt definitely, I think first run and maybe the second had 25s, then they upgraded.
When my less than reliable Grizz V2 rear motor went dead.
carefully I used the front motor to get home. Then I entered the world
of Customer service .........................not here right now. Iced the machine.
In So, Cali but lets talk. I would have many 'donor" parts. Grizz on ICE
Went Juiced, Scrambler then HS2 torque v Cadence what a world of difference
Now the Talaria MX4 Sting-R do not ride unless you want to ruin all things you knew and understood before. Yes SIR!, game set match
I sell headlight for grizzly plug n play with halo , low beam, high beam if you interested let me know
Thanks
The LED headlight on this bike's actually pretty nice. I might put some yellow film over it though. What's your website I'll check out your light.
@@CitizenCycle925 my headlight is very bright compared to the original headlight plus halo switch option for halo ,low beam, high beam
Need a 40amp controller and you’ll be golden
Yes, I feel like there's a lot of untapped potential with this bike.
Omg to funny😊
Not really made for us over 6 feet tall
Been there, done that, modded it, gifted it. I gift everything though, thats the way I like to roll. If I didnt, Id be hoarding while others go without.
🐍 The Grizzly has only 30A controllers. Don't go off bragging about your Citizen Cycle ebike beating "equal" ebikes when your controllers are much larger.🖖🤙
That is precisely why I brag about the citizen bike, it's built stronger than the rest.
@CitizenCycle925 🐍Yup, if you're gonna reach into your own pockets for modifications... Buy the BEST components. I bought (2) 750w Grizzlies during the peak of the pandemic on pre-order. Due to parts shortages & 9months delivery delays, AR gave us free upgrades to the 1000w/1850w peak motors & 2 chargers for the modified battery set up. AR also gave us merch credits and rebates on our credit cards lowering my costs to $2449 for each Grizzly. Did your yellow/gold V3 Grizzly cost less than mine❓️
🖖🤙
Just not fast enough 4 me
That is one ugly bike.
How much did you pay?
