You really can't go wrong with any Sleep Token song you choose. I will suggest that before you check out "Euclid" on Take Me Back to Eden, you need to check out at "The night does not belong to God" from the Sundowning album. While there are callbacks to other songs in Euclid, this song will stand out the most. Great reaction! (Worship)
The way you talk about how its almost sad that you’ll never be able to hear it for the first time again is so true. It's how I've ended up in a rabbit hole of watching these reactions... watching other people experience sleep token for the first time brings those feelings of listening to the first time again. Every time you see different parts reaonate with different people, its like hearing it through their ears. I've never had any band have that same impact on me. I never get tired of hearing them.
"These days I'm a circuit board. Integrated hardware you cannot afford. A perfect start to a perfect war. Putting down the roses, picking up the sword." This song is a turning point in his love for her. He's saying; "I love you and always will, but I have grown past us. I deserve better than what you can give me. I'm done letting you run me over and I am choosing to strike back."
As amazing as this song is on first listen, the better it gets the more you hear it. That goes for this entire album. I could never get into this band but this album changed that for me. It's a definite album of the year contender for me and definetly my most listened to.
Mr LBoyd. ive been subbed forever. Love your content and your channels. Finally got around to watching this reaction. Even tho it was epic ...you have pained me and everyone because why? NOT one of us will get that first time listen again. Its called Goosebumps. (at least where im from Atlanta Ga) And your science is spot on as well. Sorry for late response . i watch your current content all the time i just got lost in the Sleep Token realm ...Again?
Being frustrated by not getting to hear it for the first time again I feel to my core, especially with Sleep Token. absolute legends. I wish I could hear the trilogy of albums for the first time again, but I suppose I will enjoy relistening until they give us more once again.
I think the integrated hardware you cannot afford reference is more of a commentary on their incompatibility as a whole. He is integrated hardware (metal) and the chemicals can break him down. Sleep Token has many songs with the theme of vore or consumption. To me, the references to chemistry are about his personhood breaking down into pieces. His object of desire and he are not compatible unless broken down into molecular form and intertwined later. And he’s exhilarated by this presumably excruciating experiences of being dissolved (chemically consumed) “can’t get enough” knowing he will be with his love, if only in death.
I also think perhaps the ballroom reference is where he and his lover, dance, mingle.. rebond chemically. And then you have the bit that sounds like very melodic with the piano.. it give very regal vibes. Like going to a fancy dinner place where a pianist would be playing. Yet the lack of chatter that would accompany this setting provides a sense of open space. A large ballroom, for just two people, alone, to dance in.
At the beginning he describes his love as very animalistic and violently aggressive, even to her own detriment. “Broken jaw”. Her desire is to consume him. But she breaks her jaw because he’s made of hardware. She’s erratic and he’s become immune to her behavior by turning himself into an emotionless object. A sort of stoicism. The end he talks about giving up the fight. If she wants him and they are not compatible.. one or both of them are going to have to change forms. He’s accepted that fate.
Alchemy wasn’t really about the metals per se. It was about transmutation of matter yes but also of mental and emotional states. He is a master at putting this out there. Their albums listen like Jung’s red book. The god of sleep being his anima. It started from a failed relationship turned blackening step that began the cycle of samsara and confrontation with the shadow.
Please check out Stan Walkers new song, it's from a new movie called Origin being tipped for an Oscar, as is Stan's song for the movie. The song is I Am. :)
But not only not financially afford but spiritually or psychologically afford. I think much of the sleep token project is about this. Longing for a deeper non material connection
I'd love to see you react to "The Love You Want", which has a bonus of having a very cool music video (and is also the first Sleep Token song I heard!)
Is the gold essentially humanity, or human love in general? Thus, Aqua Regia is the tech state that is breaking down the gold, or our ability to be human and love.

And the video for The Love You Want shows him trying to kill his love for her over and over prior to getting to this point. Sooooo good!
Really hope you do do more sleep token, you will NOT be disappointed. Excited to see more sleep token reactions!

The lyrics to this song also play into the line in the song Chokehold, where he says "I'll turn my walls to gold to bring you home again".
I'm so glad you're back. Worship, sir.
So glad to find someone who appreciates the lyrical genius of this song in particular
So good .... and always enjoyable to watch a true connoisseur listen for the first time! Worship
this was just incredible to watch, your comprehension on the lyrics, amazing.
My friend just told me to check this band out. This will be my first listen as well.

I love your interpretation on this song! I am definitely now seeing your take as I watch your reaction.
This song sounds like alternative, smooth jazz 🎷🎼🎹🎸
Awesome ❤️🔥
Excellent reaction, I love your insight!!!
The eather is also referred as the the unseen energy that binds us all kind of like the force
The best song on the album. Fight me
This song is about addiction, I think. And how it grips you. Just like the song sugar.
Great reaction! Always enjoy your breakdown
Right? I have regrets I can't hear their music for the 1st time again. This song is just perfection.

Gold is symbolically pure and precious. Aqua Regia metaphorically are these silicone ball rooms eroding us
Love this song

Hello MRLBOYD!
Is the gold essentially humanity, or human love in general? Thus, Aqua Regia is the tech state that is breaking down the gold, or our ability to be human and love.
Early gang.
Jazzy!
Please please please react to jaws by sleep token. I’d love to hear your comments on that one
Funny you say let's call the ether the internet, when wired internet uses ethernet cables. So in a way the internet is the ether.
Not really my cup of tea but its got good instrumentation frfr
Aqua Regia in this context is sex with his ex.
Talk at the end ffs
this sound isnt for me
Normally i like your reactions, but honestly the more i listen to your video it seems like you dont actually know what you're talking about
