Just for reference, aqua regia is an acid used to dissolve gold from other metals. That's why there's "liquid" gold in the video
Thanks for this Jason 😊
Absolutely one of my favorites from the album. Love love love the obvious jazz influence. The beautiful piano, that soft guitar. I don't even care what genre this band is (supposed) to be. When you produce great songs like this, I'm going to listen.
It’s honestly so impressive to me how they are merging all these genres! With such finesse as well. Looking forward to more. Thanks for watching my dude 😊
So being born in 1970, imagine all the music and bands I grew up with.
And to this day... Sleep Token is in my top 5 of all time.
They have songs I like less than others But, they do not have a bad song!
I can't get enough of them.
And I can't wait to see what's next from you.
Thank you for putting out such good content, it is very entertaining.
I fricken love that! Like they are such a smush of genres but that you can connect dots from earlier music and say, yeah this is great is awesome. Thanks for watching again my dude 😊💜
1970 FTW.
@@wendypierce5621 Yup, everything across the spectrum coming out of the 60's into early 70's Rock, R&B and Real country....
Being a teen in the mid 80's... we really did get all the great stuff !
I'm a year behind ya and I feel the same..🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
That’s the thing about Sleep Token. They don’t do the things people normally think they should do. This is one of the best tracks on the whole album.
It’s honestly fantastic 😊💪
If you want to hear blues and metal together, give Zeal and Ardor a go. Worth checking out the background of the band too and how they were created by asking 4Chan for 2 genres and the reply was a less polite version of black music and black metal, and so their singer went ahead and mixed blues with metal and based it on a alternate history where slaves make a deal with the devil
I will be adding them to my list immediately. Thank you for watching my dude 😊💪
They're fantastic!
Thank you for mentioning them, I gave them a listen and they're so different and sound so cool
I mean, with my slightly ironic interpretation of "the Devil" (as the liberator), that's basically what Haitian Voodoo was, so it's not much of a stretch; Zeal & Ardor take the actual heritage of the lead singer and make it metal (as it should be, in *this* history)
Beat me to it!!
Can’t wait for you to hit the next song on the album - Vore. It’s a punch in the face after the calm, R&B-ness of Aqua Regia
I can’t wait for that punch in the face 😂
I kind of agree with you in regards to vessel's vocals, the live version of Aqua Regia is 100% better especially because they have the choir that harmonizes with vessel. That piano breakdown is sooo tasty tho! Can't wait for you to do Vore, the harmonies are INSANE and it's my favorite from tmbte
I think for sure we’re going to have to do a little wander into live ST stuff. I need to hear the expression outside of the studio. Still a wonderful vocalist. Thanks for watching my dude 😊
Oh live is something else. Vore live eats everything around it. See what I did there😃
What the Vesselettes bring to the live show cannot be overstated. You also get the purest form of Vessel's voice in a live setting.

@@arimewillow4278 I agree, there is something about the vore sound that feels like it can swallow you whole ;)
It's a nerdy sex jam. I appreciate the play in the lyrics between romantic chemistry and scientific chemistry. I think if a song this smooth had overtly romantic lyrics it would be too much (I'm on the aromantic side of things.)
Yeah I think you’re completely right! Having balance in a song is definitely the job between the songwriter/arranger. And I think here it’s done well. I love the balance tipped tbh but if the lyrics were too soppy it just wouldn’t be right. Thanks for taking the time 😊
this song is so sexy, one of my favs off this album. Love your reaction, you're awesome!
Thank you Mack! It’s a great tune 😊
I've been eagerly awaiting you getting to this song, it's such a gem.
Truer words were never said 😊
This one grew on me. I do enjoy it very much. It is a major vibe.
I concur 👍
Here to Worship!
Fair 😊
I love this song. It never fails to put me in a good mood 🙂
It’s such a good tune! Thank you for watching Jessica 😊
This song reminds me of Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai. I love this song.
I looooove Jay Kay and the gang. Talented beasts 😂
Vessel writes and records everything apart from the drums. Guitars, bass, piano and obviously vocals with 2 coming in with those insane drums.
He’s crazy talented 🤯
Thank you for not stopping it every two seconds for goofy tropes
I do try and not stop often and with ST that’s super hard not to talk endlessly ☺️
One of my faves, also in my range so I proper belt it out lol
These guys... Its so beautiful that they cant be put into any genres... Just 'Sleep Token Music'... Thank you for the insights... Subbing... Do keep the good stuff coming! \m/
Rock on, Melisa. 🤘😉
You're spot on. I've felt there's been some things missing for a number of years now in Metal and one of those is harmony. You found it more maybe in the 90's but the trend since then has gone a different direction. There is one Metal genre however that has kept those elements quite well and that's Power Metal. One good band just released their first song in about two years, Unleash The Archers. Song is Green and Glass. You got to check it I think you'll find a bit more of what you're looking for! Cheers 🍻 🤙
I love the reaction to the brilliant progressions. Is it Metal? Is it Jazz? Who fucking cares.
Amen 😊💜
I fuckn love the sign in the background! Lmao. He'll yea
Thanks Gary 😊
VOOOOOOOOOORE!
Can’t wait 😊
This has turned into my favorite album so I love that we are doing the whole thing. Can't wait for Ascensionism and Take Me Back to Eden. We you finish this album we should party and no better way then with "We Got The Moves" by Electric Callboy
I cannot wait for the rest 😊
Very much the blues! Cool! I would recommend MD.45 . Dave Mustaine takes blues to a different level! All the songs on that album are really good! Keep up the great work My Fine Scottish Lady! ❤❤❤
Hope you’re well my dude 😊💜
Have you heard of Leprous yet? They're quite an interesting somewhat jazzy somewhat metal band. If you want clean vocals from them, I'd say their song Below would be a good start, but if you want something harsher, maybe Slave would be a better start. 🙂
Just a note - while a significant amount of metal indeed originates from and is inspired by blues, it doesn't apply to everyone. There is as much influence from punk, for example, especially in the alternative metal/rock scene (grunge is a good example). This doesn't invalidate your comment, it's just there is so much more to metal than many people realise :)
Oh no I understand that influence isn’t linear for sure, and neither it should be. I think the point I was trying to make was that it’s just very cool to me that’s been listening to a lot of metal recently it’s so removed from its origins because of nonlinear influence, so when I hear it going back a little to roots music it feels like a wonderful full circle. Thank you for taking the time for a little conversation on it 😊
For music, I think each generation has its "progressive" band.
My dad's was Rush, mine is Tool, and I genuinely think Sleep Token is the next
Is Aqua Regia an LP listen? By itself it feels flat. Very chill. Like I wanted a few more tasty pebbles, like the keys or something else to ripple the surface.
Yeah I have been informed that the next track is a jump in tone but I am totally enjoying track by track as I don’t think I’d have time to process all my feelings in one go. Thanks for watching my dude 😊
@@SoulSingerDiscovers They're just setting me up to slap me with the next track. Something I need. I tell my therapist it's healthy.
It’s like Vessel did a cameo on a Jamiroquai song.
I would pay top dollar to hear that 😊
My apologies for my post, last night, which was more colorful than usual (which is what happens when I have a few drinks and watch these things). Of course, I've removed it.
Best!
Oh I didn’t even see it I don’t think. Fear not. We’ve all said and one things after another Chardonnay we wish we could take back. At least for you it was on UA-cam. I like to do all my drunk mistakes in person so there’s no way to take them back 😂
@@SoulSingerDiscovers Just out of curiosity, did you ever check out Huntress?
first time listening I couldn't hear, only ✨a b s o r b ✨
Naturally ✨😊
Have you heard of the new sludgie Doom super group called slower? They do covers of the band Slayer at like half the tempo... You need to check them out 🙂 their interpretation of war ensemble is pretty cool. I think you'll also like south of heaven. Seriously.
Ooohhh!! That sounds interesting. Thank you I’ll check them out. 😊
I do enjoy this track, but the only thing i ever remember about it is where he says "Aqua Regia" 💀
I agree about the effected voice against the piano. I wish it was a smoother mix.
Yeah I was very distracted by the piano and it did stick it out quite a bit. I agree on that one actually. Hope you’re well bud 😊
@@SoulSingerDiscovers Thanks! Hope you've been doing well too :)
I feel like the deliberate decision to make the contrast between the piano and vocals so harsh was almost like a stylistic pun based around the title and the topic itself
Aqua regia is one of the strongest acids known to man: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aqua_regia
Amazing thanks for this. Everyday is a school day 😊
to add to this, its name means “royal water”, because it is known to dissolve precious metals such as gold.
gurl, U haven't been balanced ya entire life ;-)
Don’t throw facts at me like they’re insults!! 😂
This band proves that genre is not terribly useful for clearly defining music to people that haven't heard that particular music. In the end, music is magic.
Music is magic is my favourite line of the week 😊 thank you Nathan 💪
