"That's jazz right there" I feel so validated, I've been saying this since release. It's such a cool ballad, the rhythm section choices are so tasteful.
5:18 I love the look on the pianist's face when he hears that one piano note because it's the exact same expression I had when first listening to this track. The sheer volume of influences across multiple music genres is staggering, and it really goes to show the incredible talent Vessel has when writing, performing, and singing. Really hope to see them live again this year, because they put on a helluva show in Maryland last year. :)
MOST DEFINITELY Ascensionism!! It is the song that made me fall in love with them and I haven't looked back!😊 If you like a song with a lot of genres in it then this is the one to listen to IMO!
Ascensionism and The Summoning are both amazing examples of Vessel's vocal prowess, and especially in Summoning's case, how varied the songwriting can be
That's what I do to people when I introduce them to ST. I play Aqua Regia, then Vore...musical whiplash. Then feed them the summoning and its a new fan for life.
It hits me right in the gut every time. Absolutely love it. I adore when bands actually make a point out of which songs come when. Makes the album make sense. It’s such an adrenaline and domaine hit when Aqua Regia transitions into Vore
I've very much enjoyed the videos on this channel. I love Sleep Token, but I'm a dummy. Listening to somebody as intelligent as Judsen also enjoying them just feels good in the soul. Love what you gents do!
The first time I saw a video from you reacting to Sleep Token, I was thinking"damn he needs to react to Aqua Regia, I'm pretty he gonna like it" well I was right, this is one of my fav songs from them, the jazzy vibes, the progression, the lyrics and even that sound effects of the people in a dinner or something like that at the background, man such a vibe
I never thought about the idea of him using a synth for the bass but it makes sense. He’s using some chord progressions that sound interesting and difficult to recreate on a bass instrument
Thanks for the reaction! I'd like to see reactions to: DISEMBODIED TYRANT/SYNESTIA - THE POETIC EDDA (FT. BEN DUERR) Kardashev - Snow-Sleep Cattle Decapitation - A Photic Doom DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT - Deadhead (Live at Royal Albert Hall)
Please show Judson, Ayreon and specifically the song , The Day the World Breaks Down featuring Floor Jansen, Simone Simons -Epica, James Labrie - Dream Theatre along with 8 other incredible metal vocalists. Ayreon are the pinnacle of modern contemporary prog metal/rock . He will love it !
I care what Richard thinks! Y'all should do some twists where Judson chooses stuff for Richard to listen to sometimes 😁 As for other Sleep Token: Off same album pretty much everything lol... but Take me back to eden for sure... ascensionism... apparition & vore are good too.
I think I really began to love the band even more after watching entire live performances and seeing their charisma and energy. Next step is definitely backwards to the vibey "sugar" or "jaws"
Of Reality - Calabi Yau by Tesseract, Lucious saxophone solo over top a very djenty backbeat, what more for Judson too love? Edit: cool Organectomy shirt
The whole album of Eden you could do and we would ALL be happy but god damn some of their other albums are just as magical... for different reasons. You need to do JAWS or SUGAR for sure! Ascensionism and take me back to eden title track are big hitters... id say weave some of their other songs in then slam out one of them when you are wanting to go BIG!
If there was any album that you should listen to or even react to, in full, its Take Me Back To Eden. The album is sooo good and there are so many little things about it that are amazing. Like how in the title track there's a line that calls back to the opening track, Chokehold. Or how the album throws you around going from heavy to groovy to sad constantly. Listening to the album in full also allows for some of the 'weaker' songs to shine like DYWTYLM or Are You Really Okay? (for some reason people don't like these songs as much). Once you listen to the full album trilogy, you start to notice even more cool things like the closing track, Euclid, calls back to the opening song from their debut record, The Night Does Not Belong To God. I would love to see an album reaction, but if that never comes to fruition then you should at least listen to this album in full one day. Absolute Masterpiece.
Euclid actually calls back to a lot of songs, "I'm thick tar on the inside burning" is a call back to a song on This Place will Become Your Tomb, there's a bunch of others too. Ascensionism and Euclid also have a call back to the band that will identify Vessel :) and there's even a call back to Graves in The Night Does Not Belong to God/Euclid.
👀 I’m planning to show him that one the next time we get together which will probably be next Friday or Saturday. Should have it out a few days after that.
Greeting Sir! Today, I would LOVE to suggest a brand new song entitled "Dissociation", by the French Canadian Death Metal/Classical project named "Disorientation". This is a lyric video* Thank you for your attention and have a nice day ;)
I think the next sleep token should be the title track take me back to Eden
Yes!
or Ascensionism 👌
Agreed title track, though really they can pick anything from the new album (or the whole catalog) and it's going to be great.
@@alistoicakovacs1198chokehold!!!!!!!
Nah, Thread The Needle or Nazareth

They were all definitely jazz band kids in high school 😂😂
@@MUSHM00N we don't really have jazz band in England not in the way that its a thing in the US at least. definitely music kids possibly theater kids

“Sleep token might be my favorite thing we listen to right now” is my favorite thing I’m listening to right now
MOST DEFINITELY Ascensionism!! It is the song that made me fall in love with them and I haven't looked back!😊 If you like a song with a lot of genres in it then this is the one to listen to IMO!
Second vote for Ascensionism! I find it has slightly smoother transitions than Take Me Back to Eden, but they’re both great!
Very soon ❤️
@Greatmeasures1 YAY!! WOOHOOO!!💃👈🏻(that's my happy dance😂)
Ascensionism and The Summoning are both amazing examples of Vessel's vocal prowess, and especially in Summoning's case, how varied the songwriting can be
The transition from aqua regia to VORE please, it's one of the most interesting plottwists of this lp 🙏 loved Judsons intro

Welcome to the rabbit hole of Sleep Token.
Bloodsport is another classic.
Most their albums are amazing.
The piano/live version of blood sport is so good too
Take me back to eden will be a 10/10 video!
Do Ascensionism by ST next for sure
I am happy to see the love for Sleep Token, it is well deserved
Jazzy metal 🎼🤘
i stealing that line "sleep toke are some bad melon farmers"
Not him coming in with Ascensionism yeeeees ❤❤❤❤
Atlantic, Euclid, Take Me Back to Eden are some more good ones
The chemistry between you two is absolutely fucking hilarious lol subscribed!
Been waiting for this one since y’all did Atlantic. I knew “judsong” would love this one.
It would be fun to see y’all do the summoning.
They did. It’s on Patreon
I’m so in love with Judson 🥰
I was introduced to Sleep Token thru yall! More! More please!
Give a pianist a song with a jazz piano in it and think they won't like it. He wanted to play along with it the whole time.
Cool chemistry/friendship. Enjoying the videos.
I never thought about the idea of him using a synth for the bass but it makes sense. He’s using some chord progressions that sound interesting and difficult to recreate on a bass instrument
That piano breakdown always reminds me of Mr. Roger’s neighborhood and makes me smile
Sweet reaction. Nice analysis keep Sleep Token coming!
So glad you finally did this! I knew Judson would love it.
I love jaws, sugar, vore, offering, hypnosis, among my favorites.
he opened with chord progression to taylor swifts haunted and i hate that i recognize it so immediately

“Sleep token are some bad melon farmers” is something I will say in conversation someday
my boy was stumped with this one 😂🙌🏼
"Sleep Token some bad melon farmers man"
this.
Judson obviously loves the piano so show him Bloodsport and probably more importantly, Atlantic!!!
Both of those are on the channel. 🤘
Woo-hoo! I think we all knew Judson would dig this one lol! Glad you guys got around to it! 🙌🏻
I knew I loved Judson. I didn't need this to be confirmed, but this video did it anyway.

Show him some Strapping Young Lad or Devin Townsend’s solo work. Insomnium is another great band.
I knew he would dig it. Nazareth is a good one.
Sleep Token's The Love You Want plzzz
It would seem that Judson likes progression and dynamics in the same song? Time to revisit Dream Theater?
He needs to hear "Home" :)
Would love to hear your thoughts on the song “Jug Fulla Sun” by Spirit Caravan
You've opened a can of worms here! I'll leave ya with 3
Acensionism
Gods
Telomeres
Ascensionism next-easy
I think you gotta go TMBTE title track or Ascensionism next, then maybe sprinkle in an older softer one like Levitate or Give! Keep him guessing 😂
Some bad melon farmers right there
Sugar!!!!!!!!!
Can we have visit sleep token again? High water pls
Blood sport live. Also let who among us hasn't been shitfaced listening to good music cast the first stone.
they already did that one i think
You´ve got to do Illumination Theory by Dream Theater live
I'd like to suggest Granite. It brings the bass!
He's right. Melon farming is off the charts with Sleep Token.
Can you guys do some iced Earth or some
Sabaton
Primus
now i want to hear sleep token cover primus
😂

telomeres, trust me
What band these days has the balls to do a piano solo?
Actually a japanese band called fear and loathing in las vegas has lot of piano solos in their song between 2 breakdown and 6 genders 🤣
Damn that coke must be good
Alkaline, might be interesting
Hey, can you start telling us what you're shirts say because they are very unreadable. Most death metal logos are very unreadable
Granite should be next I think. It's probably the only contender for me for Aqua Regia and The Summoning on this album.
Coming soon
