Will we know when we take our last ride? Maybe. Will we plan it or will it just happen and only years later we realize, the last ride was "back then" was the last.
I truly believe that the end of "fun times" is surpassed by the glory that awaits.
👍🙌
amen to that
Great timing on this vid. I road yesterday with my best friend, who I've known since we were 4 yrs old. His first ride in over a year and since having heart surgery. Just an hour and a half ride. Ray back and I'm grateful. I'm not an overly emotional person, but it felt so good having him riding next to me. It was definitely a reminder not take it for granted and cherish the moment.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the video! I retired and just turned 66 I have had these thoughts but growing old is a privilege and for me I should not be here but I am and have overcome a hill or two. I am going to keep pushing ahead hard and keep getting the knees in the wind as much as possible. Great Video as always keep the rubber side down! Much Respect
Thanks for sharing my friend!🙌
Holy smokes man, I darn near choked up at the beginning.......I'm just under 60 and all those things you depicted at the beginning, wow. I had a great time growing up, I had great friends, I had great parents. I have 2 kids that are teenagers now. Life is fleeting, that's for sure. Love your channel and I wish you guys all the best!
Wow! Thanks for sharing my friend. All the best to ya!
Loved this story. My husband and I have been riding since 07. We have had many wonderful experiences together and memories. I have a journal that I wrote in for every ride. Our last ride was in 2020. Health problems kept me from going. We finally sold our bike last year. That was a very sad day, but I’m 71, so we knew it was coming. Your story was so inspiring and touching. Thankyou for sharing. God bless and keep you safe. Many more happy rides. Teressa , South Carolina.
Thanks for sharing Teressa, glad y’all had some great rides together👍 All the best🙌
Ive been riding since I was 8 years old and Im 64. Your videos are the best on UA-cam. You do an awesome job filming editing and especially narrating. Well done brother. Thanks for the experience.
Wow, thanks for watching🙌🙌
Well, you got my wife all choked up. 😂
Great video, makes a person think a little more about our future.
Glad you enjoyed it and hope all is well with you guys!
Holy Cow D, this was awesome, next to the video of you and Fly Boy at the cemetery it’s my new favorite. Live in the moment as tomorrow is never promised and Enjoy the Ride.
That is awesome! Thanks Bell! Miss y’all
Beautifully presented Chief. Somewhat older than you, and ponder this often. Best to you and the Mrs. 🙏🇺🇸
Thank you so much my friend🙌
I rode in large groups for many years and relate fully to your posts. Sadly for me I did not make it to age 62 to make my last ride due to cancer. One by one, my friends also made last rides as their kids grew up, job requirements, any number of things will bring these days to an end. My former riding friends are mostly still around and we keep in touch, but sadly quite a few have passed on. I'd give anything to hop on my old HD and go for a spin.
Sorry to hear your rides were cut short. Hope you are winning against the cancer. Thanks for sharing👍
I have been a fan and subscriber for years and this video is your best yet. Your words certainly ring true for all of us. I'm in my late 60's and I too know the rides will end one day; just not today. Take care, be safe and I'll look forward to your next video.
Thank you my friend🙌
Chief, I’m pretty sure you’ve been through it too. Meaning those occasions when we knew we might not survive. 5 very clear times for me. Those moments taught me to embrace it and go even harder. TIL Valhalla!
👍🙌 yes sir
Like you Daryl, I’m in my early 60’s. 11:58 Along with my riding buddy we plan and look forward to many retired long distance motorcycle adventures. However, we now often find ourselves questioning how many strong years we have left before us to enjoy our passion. We feel fortunate and we are grateful, for some have unfortunately already left us. All we can do is live and cherish every moment and hope that last ride is far off on the horizon! Thanks for sharing brother, it’s good to know we are not alone in our thoughts and desires …stay safe out there my friend!
Hey, thanks for sharing my friend🙌
I was just ride reminiscing with one of my Brothers and fellow retired Motor also we are both OWP’s about our previous rides as he is selling his bike as he wife can’t ride anymore due to health reasons and he doesn’t want to leave her when he rides. We talked about how we both knew when our last days on our Motors would be when we retired (5 years ago for me) and how it was partially about the riding, but more about the fellowship with our Brothers much like when working. I’m going to enjoy the ride for as long as God allows. Great video and poetic storytelling.
Thanks for sharing that my friend🙌
This is so beautifully done. The filming itself is amazing with all the angles and that bridge! Your club name ought to be "The Poet". I'm 64 and fighting a bad back....my 2019 Ultra has sat for the last 4 weeks. This vid really spoke to me. Thank you.
Wow, thank you! Wishing you all the best my friend.
Excellent musing! Thanks for sharing! 😘🖖🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for watching🙌
Nice cowboy poetry in this video. Heading up to Ohio with friends on our bikes, from Jacksonville the first week of September to ride some roads on my bucket list. I’m also in my early 60’s and I realize I have a horizon approaching that is my last ride. Here’s to enjoying life while we can and hording the memories for when we can no longer live a young man’s life!
Safe travels, glad you are still out there Rollin!
😢 What a beautiful video. Made me think and even tear up. Life sure does go by fast. We need to enjoy every minute of it. Thank you for sharing with us. Hope you are both doing well.
Thank you Veronica! Just responded to the Chief!😂 hope all is well.
Great video very encouraging. My wife and I have been watching you guys for almost a year because I knew you guys were RVing. Retired from APD (Unit 4140) and getting ready to hit the road to see this beautiful country while we have the abilities to do so. Thank you for the reminder that tomorrow is not promised to us.
That is awesome! When did you retire?
I am now 76 with a life time of stories always wondering that last time for all our events. Thanks for the ride just a great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent video, but an even more powerfull message! Like you, I’m 61 but working towards my retirement from the same occupation as you. The wife and I travel in our Class A as much as possible and bring along our Street Glide. I have a good buddy, same occupation, who I ride with quite often. We love striking out on adventures with the bikes, but they come fewer and further between these days as life, and finishing my career seem to get in the way. We always say at the end of a trip, “Let’s not make this the last one.”
Safe travels and keep up the great content. Hope we see you out on the road in the RV at some point.
Hey my friend, thank you for sharing this. We say the same thing at the end of a ride.. enjoy your last few days, months on the job🙌🙌see down the road! What agency are you with?
@@TollesonLife Retired once from the City of Covington. Ran the drug task force out there for several years and a couple other assignments. Now Chief of Staff with Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security. I've got 4.5 years to go.
This was pretty deep and caused me to have some reflection. Thanks for sharing this ride with us
Glad you enjoyed it! Love you Sturgis content bro
@@TollesonLife Thank you my friend
The LAST ride is harsh to me, but the last ride on my motorcycle, yes I have often pondered this thought. I have some years on you, and my body likes to remind me of that, but I do live in the moment, I try to remind myself how fortunate I am to have my health to keep be in a healthy mind, healthy body and healthy spirit to keep riding and walking and well ya just living. Stay in the moment and be grateful!! GREAT video
Thanks for sharing Harleygurl🙌
First time I’ve seen one of your videos and you nailed it.I brought this subject up with my wife recently. I am 64 years old and figure I have about 15 or so years to ride. I ride a 2024 Road Glide but sitting in my garage is a 2016 Victory Cross Country that I bought new and will always keep. I recently told my wife that one day, when my last Ride comes, it will be on that Victory.
Thanks for sharing! Hope that last ride is many years away my friend🙌
Great video, thanks for sharing. I have known this feeling, because I have had it. My last ride on the Harley. Being an old paratrooper my knees just couldn't take it anymore. Awesome times and Awesome memories. Thanks again sharing!
Thanks for sharing!
I'm 57 years old. I've accumulated a few miles in the saddle on 2 different bikes. For me the last ride was August 07, 2024. I sold my 2012 Victory Vision Tour and the trailer I pulled behind it to General RV and purchased a travel trailer. I lost the desire to ride 2 years ago. My back pain also helped me decide to close the book to motorcycle riding. Now it's on to the next chapter.
Thanks for sharing, enjoy the journey my friend.
At 65, I have rode most of my life. In 2019 we bought our first motorhome with the idea of towing the 2003 Goldwing, which i purchased new, on our trips. In the last few years, I found myself riding less often, and in 2019 I only road a few hundred miles. On our first RV trip towing the Goldwing to Tennessee, spring of 2020, I started feeling not as confident riding as I use to, and I wasn't really enjoying a relaxing ride. I thought, before something happens, I better 'turn the page' and retire the Goldwing. I had a great time taking Motorcycle trips with my wife over the years, but I never once regretted giving up riding. I now tow a Ford Ranger behind 'Melvin", our motorhome. Enjoy your videos!!
Hey thanks for sharing. We will all get to that place day👍
Hell of an awesome
Perspective, brother!!!
Much appreciated
Thank you for your Motor Cycle video. I so look forward to each one you do. Excellent theme as I'm approaching 77, one realizes that, that day is coming. I even go back and watch your previous motorcycle rides. Keep up the good work and lets see some more of your motorcycle adventures. May the "LORD" put a hedge of protection around you n yours as you ride that V twin. What a beautiful sound they make. I've staged 1 and true duals to my Triglide with Vance & Hines pipes. What an awesome sound. I pray that the day is later than sooner. Blessings
Wow, thank you for sharing and watching! All the best to you🙌
Great Video Darryl. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Thanks for reminding us to enjoy every moment.
Our pleasure!
Wow, that was a great video, I may have had my last ride when i sold my Ninja when we went full time rving. I do miss riding. Safe travels
Thanks for watching! Enjoy RV life🙌🙌
Darell, another great video with an even better story. Here's to many more rides, memories, and laughs as we continue to "cherish every moment".
Thank you Kevin🙌
Absolutely a great story and video brother.
Glad you enjoyed it
Was just at my Nieces graduation at Duquesne University and one of the speakers talked about, Unknown Lasts. It does make you reflect. Another great riding video.
Oh wow! Thanks for sharing.
Man, we love your videos! Keep on riding and bring us more! Luv your journeys☀️
Thanks! Will do!
Awesome video. Love how you put this into perspective. Like you said, we do so many things for the last time and just didn't realize it was the last at the moment. Thanks for sharing !!
Yes! Thank you!
Well put together upload. I do like the under bike cam.
👍🙌
Enjoyed seeing you on the Harley again. I hope I never know when my last ride will be. I think of that Johnny Paycheck song "Old Violin". Maybe years will pass before I'll realize my last ride has already happened.
Thanks for sharing🙌
I always ride as if it's my last, none of us are guaranteed the next sunrise. Good video 👍.
Same here! All the best🙌
Great story teller you truly have a gift.
I appreciate that, thank you for watching!
Great video great to see you on bike yes lots of thoughts go through head when riding just gotta enjoy the adventure 😀
You got that right!
No two ways, the ending will always be bittersweet and there’s no need to spell out why. But if there is one thing I’ve learned it’s that all endings will have new beginnings. Just like the last game of tag we played with our friends, time will always tell us when the next thing will come.
Here’s to more open road voyages! 🍻
Be well and stay safe!
Thank you and thanks for sharing🙌
Man that intro is so true. A few years go I realized that if I knew when the last time was that I would carry my kids, or read them a bedtime story, I'd still be carrying them today and they're in their 30s and 40s. I'm hoping that last ride is just because I finally got tired of the idiots on the road, or I want another boat. Did I miss something, or did you relocate to FL?
Hey thanks for sharing! We have a house in Fl now, still Rving just have a home base now.
What a great video!! IPFFIP you did this right Chief!
Glad you enjoyed it my friend🙌🙌
Well said sir! Really enjoyed both the message and the video of the ride. Keep the rubber down
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really enjoying all of your videos. Late sixties and can relate to everything you so eloquently said. Greetings from Wales, UK
Thank you my friend! Hope all is well in the UK🙌
Great video, as I approach 70 I enjoy every ride, hopeful its not my last. And like you, reflect on all my past adventures and look forward to the next ride.
Well said! Thanks for watching!
A long time ago an older friend said to me, "Live a full life and create great memories, because the time will come when that's all you'll have". He has since passed on. Ride on friend.

I understand. You never know you may find yourself back in the saddle.
Where you gonna be at in West Virginia....???
We were in Summersville my friend
Well that intro was a little bummer! Lol
😂🙌🙌
Looks like you pulled out of South St.Augustine
Pretty close my friend!
I’ve been visiting / vacationing there since I was 4 years old. I’m 54 now. Loved the bike ride video with your brother when you pitched tents off A1A. One of my favorites since I thought of our family vacations there since the middle 1970’s.
Met a rider who knew it was his last ride. Alzheimers. Doctor told Mrs. Bruce to bring Bruce in. She told him to take one last ride before his licence was pulled. Bruce went on a three month tour of Canada.
👍🙌
Got a buddy he 67 he got a trike, He still in the wind ,
Awesome!
Never said better Sir.....
I recently fractured my back and I'm slowly healing. Time will tell if it was my last ride.
Speedy recovery my friend! Hope you get back in the saddle🙌
Despite turning 70 this year and undergoing chemo for cancer my last ride is far off in the future........I hope!
I hope the same for you my friend! Wishing you all the best, keep fighting🙌
