Back when rockstar developed their games and tested them greatly for our entertainment. Meanwhile, now rockstar just caught up in the money, the power. They literally hired Grove street games just to develop the defective edition and well, they tested nothing. Well, it sucks now.
Yet when people hear about news on GTA6 trailer being released, Rockstar is suddenly worshiped as the king again. Shark cards, GTA plus, removal of content in both single player games and Online, delibrate time wasting design in GTA Online, harassment of community members, all conveniently forgotten. Not to mention the stricter mission fail state and increasingly reliance on scripted bombastic action movie moments. To cite DarkViper here: You don't merge with TakeTwo for more than 2 decades without changes in company culture and identity.
We know the collisions don’t quite match some of the map. Almost every issue listed here being some sort of collision issue is kind of annoying. It could have been listed as a single issue. This guy is not finding new issues. He’s just repeating what other people already said and stretching it out for watch time.

Grove Street games screwed the collisions as a whole and instead of this video listing actually new problems, most of the times he’s listing the same issue, just in different locations. Let’s say there was a missing texture in the remasters. You wouldn’t list every single location with that single missing texture as its own separate problems right? This guy is doing that with the collisions

He did reach 303 problems but there is almost no variety in the problems he's listing. He's saying, there's a floating piece of grass there, there's a floating rock here. The viewer sees the title of the video. Gets immediately interested because 303 issues in a single video sounds like a lot but since the videos have to be done quick to generate that sweet, sweet UA-cam cash there's a lot of sacrifice put into them so the 303 issues can be listed quickly. In the end, you would receive the same amount of information if there were only 10 issues listed because this guy is repeating the same stuff over and over again.
I am pretty convinced that they used some sort of AI to work on the game and thats why we have soo much odd jank going on. Like how the AI interpreted the folds on Ryder's sleeves and then made it look like as if he has several elbows.
They did use AI. And it's fucking horrific. Like when I was on the 2nd date with your first girlfriend, CJ's happy expression was the most ridiculous (albeit funny) expressions ever

Most of these issues are very clearly a result of automated smoothing of terrain, which has led to mismatch between visible ground, its invisible surface (use for physics), and placed assets. The floating fence at 06:30 is a good example of this. The original game has a sharp edge of a cliff with a fence running along it. The same fence floats in the air in DE, because someone has smoothened sharp edges and stuff doesn't line up anymore.
Meanwhile you have Shadowman remastered, made on a shoe string budget, made by basically at home modder, and all the original code and assets where ported to a new engine, and it has none of the issues this joke has.

The most annoying thing about define edition san andreas is the sex appeal bug after you reach a certain point in the story line clothes and other things don't give any sex apeal anymore it just becomes zero. i tested it out i removed all my clothes and got 10% sex appeal I put didier saches clothes on 10% appeal so zero changes
The first one is so funny because there are a lot of objects in the original that stop moving in defective edition but they decided to make something that was never moving move.
270 *was* a thing in the OG releases, but only if you used a controller. And it made sense, since getting up there while having to spin your camera around would be tedious. 278 was also a thing in the OG releases, but you could not see it because of the way water was drawn. Basically, the water was drawn in front of the particles, so the particles were not visible, due to some Renderware transparency shenanigans. 281 was in the originals, but you needed some kind of speed cheat to see it. Still broken, just wanted to point this out. 300 is probably because they moved the transition closer into the world to avoid *skybox issues*. OG San Andreas' engine has an offset system that moves your player blip on the map to where you entered the interior. I know it because I broke it once. DE has it, too, according to the house fact earlier, bu-u-ut seems Grove Street Games broke something in the Saint Marks mission specifically.
9:58 This also applies to most weapons and they deplete double the amount. With the Minigun, it gets even worse if you want to save some ammo, instead of the usual 2 ammo to kill a person, you'd struggle just using 4 ammo to kill a person.
Rockstar has been working on gta 6 for a very long time, the trilogy definitive editions were only in development for 2 years and it wasn't even made by Rockstar, only published by them.

Another glitch on San Andreas the defiant Edition I found was when you put a hardtop on a lowrider and color whatever color you want the car to be when you save it in your garage the hardtop color changes color
270: that camera is there on the ps2 version. It can be activated on pc if you aim a kruger, m4, m60 etc. It's not an issue i'd say 300 is also a thing in the og
@Mediocrityexe there have been some actual changes to mobile version like improved lightening or the filters coming back to the game. So I'm hoping they bring those changes to pc/console version.

The M16 damage thing might have been them finally fixing a problem in the originals. There was supposed to be a minigun in GTA3 but they never finished it and instead replaced it with the M16 but never changed the weapon stats, so it acted like a minigun and would destroy a car in half a second.
There is no proof of minigun ever being planned for gta 3. The only two weapons that are confirmed that they were in the beta were the landmine (which can be found in the game files) and a nightstick (which can be seen in a pre-release screenshot wielded by a cop)
Weapons in GTA 3 are like combinations of future weapons AK = MP5 + AK i.e. the premier SMG + starter Assault Rifle M16 = M4 + M60 + Minigun i.e. the premier assault rifle + bullet spewing heavy weapon If that makes sense?
seaways cheat would literally crash the computer for me if i have water splashing on my screen, my graphics card would hit 100% usage, full power usage, and get really hot, and depending from how it feels like it, would either BSOD the whole computer or crash the display driver.

Oh I’m soooo glad I haven’t tried the Definitive Edition Trilogy and still have old PS2 copies and digital PS3 copies before Rockstar patched out the licensed music.
Biggest issue I had so far was in GTA 3, you sprint for like 3 seconds, and Claude is gassed out for 10. It's to the point where all my movement is the basic jogging, and spamming of jump to get around slightly quicker. Sprint is effectively useless. Idk how bad it is in vice or SA, but it's enough to annoy me to reinstall my original PC copy of 3, on the 20 year old family PC just so I could have a enjoyable experience.

There is another bug I’ve discovered in GTA vice city Definitive Edition on IOS..Whil doing the mission Cop land I blew up the Tarbrush Cafe and was heading out of north point mall..I resprayed my car near Links view apartments and ended up getting busted after rear ending a cop car..then I pressed the button to load from last checkpoint which got me back in the beginning of the mission in Vercetti estate..the funny bug here is that I had 2 Lance Vances with me hehe
if you go to the pier in san andreas and look out at the water you can see u sea weeds and rocks sticking out also in san andreas if u go to the movie studio there is bad collision on the ground and hangers run around it you will see cj glitch through

Badinfos theres an annoying change on the bridge with the parachute in sanfirro where its harder to drive up it because the supports are rounded off i think the ai messed it up
Can't wait for GTA VI to be Rockstars final swan song. At least CDPR has managed to make Cyberpunk better overtime. But other companies are either dying from their' flops (Sadly Volition despite me thinking the new SR wasn't THAT bad, riddled with bugs sure. But overhated) Or they just seem content with not so great products, etc. Here's hoping ES 6 or Fallout 5 can save Bethesda at least. Cause it's getting depressing to be a gamer these days.
This game is a wasted potential. If Rockstar actually put effort in this instead of giving the job to Grove Street Games then it could have easily been one of the top selling games of all time especially most kids nowadays have experience GTA 5 era & online imagine kids experiencing this era of games if Rockstar actually remade the game add the ability to ride cab to go to a certain destination instead of driving, swimming for Claude, & Tommy, GTA 5 physics or even better GTA 4 & 5 physics for GTA San Andreas. Then maybe we already got GTA 4 for new gen consoles & Red Dead 1 remake.

There are obviously issues but there also few things to be mentioned. As of playing the new trilogy on PS5 so far i platted GTA III and VC almost without a bugs. I generally experienced 2 or 3 very minor and not really gameplay affecting issues except one which took 2-3 mins to activate the mission where you need to take care of lance from top of stairs in the alley, marker didnt activate as planned. Apart of that and 1 only CRASH during 36 hours platinium i didnt see other issues or big complains. My only concern was actually in VC only and the way cars handle feels like on ice except 3 or 4 cars which are pretty solid in response. Driving on the beach in dry weather is slow as............... but when it rains you can literally drone through it like butter and no issues. I think overall it is worth it but BUGS can vary there are some that only appear in the PC and PS5 version while absent in the PS4 version which is weird but id guess PS4 is far more optimized of all as i managed to get 60FPS solid all time without regards how intense graphics are while on the PS5 (oh well good luck i can say :/ )
They are far more stable now but there were a lot of game breaking bugs in Vice City especially at launch. Glad I still have the originals on Ps5 and I have the 360 version of San Andreas still. At launch I refunded this collection on Switch. I recently picked it up for $30 for Series X cause there wasn't ever a digital option on Xbox for Gta 3 and Vice City. Plus I wanted to grab the latest Cyberpunk dlc anyway and figured I'd get this collection and that as Christmas gifts for myself

But it doesnt give me a smile as when i fire up the OG slim and play black label PAL san andreas or Vice city on it. Of course black label edition has bugs other dont but its still superior version (only thing to avoid is NEVER to save a game in cherry popper). But yes there are far more less people owning ps2 or slim to play original versions and getting legitimate PC versions is not too easy :) ( R* does offer them now but at a certain price... which is not what everyone will expect for such old games).

There’s more glitches in San Andreas there’s someone standing on top of the invisible trolly station and a bad day is flat and it’s not that good at all.
As a gamedev myself, I noticed that many of the floating objects / floating player issues are particularly apparent in conjunction with 3D meshes that have been upscaled to have more detail. The devs likely used a method called Catmull-Clark subdivision which adds more geometry and smoothes the mesh. However, this technique does not preserve the original size of the mesh, and thus, the final result can be about 30% smaller depending on how primitive the input is in comparison to the output. Furthermore, using it for meshes that are supposed to have rough edges like houses and fences is not recommended as it will look VERY bad. Just think about the smoothed iron nut, that's the result of subsurf being applied on a mesh that is not suitable for it. For the collisions, the collision mesh is often kept simple to improve overall performance since the physics engine won't have to calculate as much. This means that applying Catmull-Clark subdivision to those is not a great idea to say the very least, except when you smooth both the visual mesh and the collision mesh With all of this combined, you get things like the two touching rocks where the collison mesh is not smoothed, but the visual one is, leading to smaller object size which results in wrong proportions.
I'm just realised now, how bad is this. I hate this mess, since the first day, damn... That's horrible. Luckly the GTA 3 isn't that bad. They fixed a lot of things, and I was modded it, so like the roads, and the floating leafs are fixed.

Honestly, most of the things mentioned in the video look like the developers rushing and cutting corners as opposed to it being bugs.

There is no proof of minigun ever being planned for gta 3. The only two weapons that are confirmed that they were in the beta were the landmine (which can be found in the game files) and a nightstick (which can be seen in a pre-release screenshot wielded by a cop)

AK = MP5 + AK i.e. the premier SMG + starter Assault Rifle
M16 = M4 + M60 + Minigun i.e. the premier assault rifle + bullet spewing heavy weapon

seaways cheat would literally crash the computer for me if i have water splashing on my screen, my graphics card would hit 100% usage, full power usage, and get really hot, and depending from how it feels like it, would either BSOD the whole computer or crash the display driver.

Biggest issue I had so far was in GTA 3, you sprint for like 3 seconds, and Claude is gassed out for 10.
It's to the point where all my movement is the basic jogging, and spamming of jump to get around slightly quicker. Sprint is effectively useless.
Idk how bad it is in vice or SA, but it's enough to annoy me to reinstall my original PC copy of 3, on the 20 year old family PC just so I could have a enjoyable experience.

There is another bug I’ve discovered in GTA vice city Definitive Edition on IOS..Whil doing the mission Cop land I blew up the Tarbrush Cafe and was heading out of north point mall..I resprayed my car near Links view apartments and ended up getting busted after rear ending a cop car..then I pressed the button to load from last checkpoint which got me back in the beginning of the mission in Vercetti estate..the funny bug here is that I had 2 Lance Vances with me hehe

if you go to the pier in san andreas and look out at the water you can see u sea weeds and rocks sticking out also in san andreas if u go to the movie studio there is bad collision on the ground and hangers run around it you will see cj glitch through

Badinfos theres an annoying change on the bridge with the parachute in sanfirro where its harder to drive up it because the supports are rounded off i think the ai messed it up

Can't wait for GTA VI to be Rockstars final swan song. At least CDPR has managed to make Cyberpunk better overtime. But other companies are either dying from their' flops (Sadly Volition despite me thinking the new SR wasn't THAT bad, riddled with bugs sure. This game is a wasted potential. If Rockstar actually put effort in this instead of giving the job to Grove Street Games then it could have easily been one of the top selling games of all time especially most kids nowadays have experience GTA 5 era & online imagine kids experiencing this era of games if Rockstar actually remade the game add the ability to ride cab to go to a certain destination instead of driving, swimming for Claude, & Tommy, GTA 5 physics or even better GTA 4 & 5 physics for GTA San Andreas. Then maybe we already got GTA 4 for new gen consoles & Red Dead 1 remake.
The stealth kill is made from the mobile port because you have to crouch fo make the stealth kill early and i dont even have a problem with it

Liberty City appears near San Fierro airport because the interior is actually located in that spot, so it's not random, but it's still stupid that it shows where you actually are
There are obviously issues but there also few things to be mentioned. As of playing the new trilogy on PS5 so far i platted GTA III and VC almost without a bugs. I generally experienced 2 or 3 very minor and not really gameplay affecting issues except one which took 2-3 mins to activate the mission where you need to take care of lance from top of stairs in the alley, marker didnt activate as planned. Apart of that and 1 only CRASH during 36 hours platinium i didnt see other issues or big complains. My only concern was actually in VC only and the way cars handle feels like on ice except 3 or 4 cars which are pretty solid in response. Driving on the beach in dry weather is slow as............... but when it rains you can literally drone through it like butter and no issues. I think overall it is worth it but BUGS can vary there are some that only appear in the PC and PS5 version while absent in the PS4 version which is weird but id guess PS4 is far more optimized of all as i managed to get 60FPS solid all time without regards how intense graphics are while on the PS5 (oh well good luck i can say :/ )
They are far more stable now but there were a lot of game breaking bugs in Vice City especially at launch. Glad I still have the originals on Ps5 and I have the 360 version of San Andreas still. At launch I refunded this collection on Switch. I recently picked it up for $30 for Series X cause there wasn't ever a digital option on Xbox for Gta 3 and Vice City. Plus I wanted to grab the latest Cyberpunk dlc anyway and figured I'd get this collection and that as Christmas gifts for myself

But it doesnt give me a smile as when i fire up the OG slim and play black label PAL san andreas or Vice city on it. Of course black label edition has bugs other dont but its still superior version (only thing to avoid is NEVER to save a game in cherry popper). But yes there are far more less people owning ps2 or slim to play original versions and getting legitimate PC versions is not too easy :) ( R* does offer them now but at a certain price... which is not what everyone will expect for such old games).

caligulas heist is bugged on consoles. if you finish the game and try to do the heist ifself, it will bug and can never be completed.

1) Dynamic car damage (realtime car deformation like gta IV/V and other modern racing games?
2) No ragdoll physics to peds?
the original trilogy doesn't have those things either and they would arguably ruin some of the feel of the game, this video isn't focusing on the things they didn't add, it's focusing on the issues the definitive editions of the games have that the original games didn't

There is nothing great about randomized pedestrians clothes. In original games many pedestrians have special designs, and many of the pedestrians are references to real famous people or popular characters. The randomizing "feature" in DE ruins the original idea completely. It's just totally bad and unnecessary.
Everyone knows why this happened... when the original games came out rockstar wasnt big yet so they actually had to Try and put Heart into their games... not theyve become too big for their britches. Knowing theyre rich now whats the incentive to do well on games? This was just a ploy to get more sales. Similar to the last of us part 2. No heart. No reason to be made. Just a pure cash grab. I was bringing that up to take a jab at Grove Street for not being able to remaster the game. Imagine Rockstar made a huge game in such a small time. A huge game that's huge to the point that a studio couldn't keep up with all the content and had to use AI and sweep some things and the rug.

As a gamedev myself, I noticed that many of the floating objects / floating player issues are particularly apparent in conjunction with 3D meshes that have been upscaled to have more detail.
The devs likely used a method called Catmull-Clark subdivision which adds more geometry and smoothes the mesh.
However, this technique does not preserve the original size of the mesh, and thus, the final result can be about 30% smaller depending on how primitive the input is in comparison to the output.
Furthermore, using it for meshes that are supposed to have rough edges like houses and fences is not recommended as it will look VERY bad. Just think about the smoothed iron nut, that's the result of subsurf being applied on a mesh that is not suitable for it.
For the collisions, the collision mesh is often kept simple to improve overall performance since the physics engine won't have to calculate as much.
This means that applying Catmull-Clark subdivision to those is not a great idea to say the very least, except when you smooth both the visual mesh and the collision mesh
With all of this combined, you get things like the two touching rocks where the collison mesh is not smoothed, but the visual one is, leading to smaller object size which results in wrong proportions.
I'd say you should never pirate a game, but with this amount of mistakes from a big company i say go for it.

I'm just realised now, how bad is this. I hate this mess, since the first day, damn... That's horrible. Luckly the GTA 3 isn't that bad. They fixed a lot of things, and I was modded it, so like the roads, and the floating leafs are fixed.
