My cat does not tolerate "brushing" unless it's done with a hand broom or my boar bristle brush. The hand broom he likes all over. The Boar bristle brush is what I use when he is grooming himself. Since he is an only cat, I use the brush as a family grooming time just as if another cat was licking him. If you feel the brush rub on your skin, it actually feels like a cats tongue. I stopped using cheap cat food a few decades ago when I noticed they actually ate more than they should because of all the fillers were not leaving them full. The stuff I use now is 42% protein or higher. Ever since that change I really dont need to worry about brushing or my cats being overweight anymore. I also give the 1/8th teaspoon of coconut oil every few days for hairball prevention and as a treat.

I want to start doing cat shows with my tabby cat but she is outside at night. If feeding her raw meat makes her coat shiny and soft, will he being outside affect her coat??

More good advice ….my cats are big long hair cats and suffer in the summer ...unfortunately they hate brushing so I have to give them treats to get the job done …..
