I have the same issue with the biltwell apes. Not sure what biltwell was thinking of not knurling them, they actually have put an explanation on how knurling is not useful.
For steel bars without knurling you need steel risers in order to be able to torque the bolts down more than is possible with the alu risers … if the bars do have knurling you then need alu risers that are softer than the steel risers and will therefore bite into the knurling when torqued down = hopefully no slippage
Ape slip pretty easy from the leverage you get from a taller bar. Try some emery cloth between the bars and clamp it will help and make sure the clamp is torqued to spec. Ride Safe Jacob. That last a great bike you have there!!!!!
What an excellent fix I was searching new bars to fix this exact issue
old school tip a guy told me take a aluminium can and cut strips to size and use that free and worked great for me
I did this very same thing when I installed my Biltwell Chumps based on one of your comments in one of your older video. Really great tip!
Great Egret Thanks, took my bars slipping about 3 times before it fixed them. Haven’t had a slip since.
Super helpful! Totally rad deck collection in the background too! Love the Cab!
Thanks man! Glad it was helpful
You've got the answer behind you. Griptape. Perfect to cut exactly to length and width, and sticks perfectly in place.
Had this issue and tried the drywall sanding screens. Worked great!!! Thanks for the recommendation!
Totally rad. This has been driving me nuts with my zombie performance bars
Glad it helped!
A little dab of valve grinding compound works wonders and plus it’s good on bolts and nuts with rounded heads and Phillips screws

I couldn't get the Emery cloth to sit flush and even, and the screws wouldn't snug up because the Emery cloth bunched up.
Won't sandpaper and emery cloth weather and degrade over time?
Try the beer can trick. Surely a strip of aluminum could last much longer...
What happens when it gets wet?
Do you still approve of the drywall paper/emery cloth? I found that after a while it turns to dust. Please advise. Thanks.
The emery has worked for me in the past. Thanks for watching ride safe
indian head gasket sealer, 1 or 2 dabs, and good luck trying to break them loose.
I have an iron 1200 and my stock bars slip. It really pisses me off. I’m about ready to throw them away for some t bars

What kind of camera did you use in this video sir? 😃
That was shot in a canon 80D with a 50mm 1.8 nifty fifty. That’s for watching.
Do you know how tall the stock bar is?
I think it is a 3 inch rise
Biltwell not bitwell
modelx89 thank u!!!!!
Thanks for noticing😂🤣
