The suspension is not suddenly improved, it's just new and well lubricated. When I rode the first batch s18, it was just as fluent. After a week of riding, you can feel the suspension is less fluent.
How can you identify which one would be the 1st batch and which is the latest?
I keep hearing about small batteries and not being able to off-road well with this street tire, but what I really want is a lightweight wheel, short, safe and smooth rides where I can gracefully handle occasional steps, bumps and gravel. I also want to attract enthusiasm and normalize EUC riding. I can't think of a better EUC for me.
After watching your video's I decided to buy a black Kingsong S18 from Calikites in San Francisco & I've been loving this wheel since I bought it! This wheel goes everywhere! After riding for a while I've learned why riders say EUC'S are the future of personal electric transporters! I need safety gear if anyone knows of sales or promo codes?

I think the suspension difference might just be the shock quality. Change it to a rockshox or fox shock and you would've solved the old one's problem I think

@@brandonlott100 If I was riding more longer distances and was able to ride on the road and cycle paths like Adam in Warsaw then I would. But here in the UK I am cautious.
Maybe the smoothness improvement, is really the difference of worn suspension on the white s18.

So the manufacturer keeps in secret all the changes and we have to figure them out? (like no Changelog in apps)
So the suspension is smoother. So what have they done to achieve that? Battery no change - presumably same cells as before then. They could put higher current rated cells in it reducing the range still further, but making it less likely to be overpowered.

FWIW my 1st batch S18 (also black) suspension up/down movement is like the 2nd batch shown in your vid. I have not done any mods or work on it except ride & abuse it ie. dropped it innumerable times incl. a 3+ft drop from the workbench while changing griptape. O & rear bumper is MIA, port cover won't close & left front panel is partially attached via duct tape🤪. Other than that, its my feelgood I'm superman wheel.
The black and gold styling is really nice looking.

My KS18 came with only a chamber (top) on the shock., do you have any idea how to inflate it by any chance or how many Psi needs..? Thank you and congratulations for your Channel!!!
I was hoping to find a way to increase the battery capacity for the S18 but I think the available space will not allow this at all. :(

This is the last possible version.
While construction-wise they’re on what would be the 3rd batch, it is still all the same as the 2nd but they have notably improved quality control in the assembly department, but hardware has been unchanged hence it’s still called the 2nd batch.
Second gen is just new. I think after a while you will hear same suspension song, when s18 will be dirty enough.

For people with a version one s18, you just need to lubricate the parts. I use WD40 and vaseline. Especially lube the piston of the shock. It will make your suspension just as smooth as the V2.
Heads up, WD40 is not a lubricating oil. It dries right up. They do have a lubricant version from their brand, but get something that’ll get the job done for you.
Yeah. It’s best to just keep all the moving parts clean. And there certainly are quite a few important linkages, hinges and slides to keep clean. Looks like a chore to keep clean. WD40 is not bad. There’s better lube out there.
I know that there are more important issues to worry about in the world but I HATE the orange-gold suspension ribs - kind of gaudy, IMHO. The original matte silver ones were MUCH nicer looking. I suppose a can of flat silver spray paint would solve my issue. :)

Buy one used. I got a V10f for under 700€, and it's a pretty decent wheel. There are a lot of great used options out there!

In shock absorber jargon, it’s called “stiction.” When the stanchions get all dirty and scratched, stiction increases. Time to clean and lube it.
And your English is great compared to my Polish. Love the content! I have a KS16X. I wanna put memory foam in the tire so it doesn’t bounce like a pogo stick after every small bump, but it’s not terrible.
