Philips has since updated the casing and has the internals in a hardened plastic case under the twist cover. It’s damn near impossible to get to the battery now without completely destroying the one blade.
Mine was purchased in 2019 and is like you describe.
Sad
Unico que mostrou ate agora na internet, obrigado.
Thank you so much, It works again 👍✨
Thanks for showing how to dissemble it (it worked, I tested myself), but the battery is weld to board, so is not as easy to replace it. It's ashame that Phillips do that.
They do that so you buy a new one 🙄
@@johnchapman4186 no only welding is a solid contact
Parabéns!, muito Top!
Your my hero!
Thank you.
What type of battery is this, i can't find it anywhere?!
i cant even twist and pull it
biiiig same
This guy's is must be jack dude I'm sweating trying to pull it apart
I wedged a flathead screwdriver in the gap and twisted. Much easier.
@@cdnpacker imma try that
@Arvin G. Me neither. Im the biggest idiot in the world at trying to fix things. My friend sent me this video when I told him I charged my shit for 8+ hrs after it died last night & it still wont turn on today. So the second my boy texted me this link I replied back 2 him that id bet him my bank acct plus blue book value on my car if he'll match the bet and I bet him I wouldn't be able to perform 1 thing properly after watching it. I wish he woulda took the fukn bet cuz then id have the $$ to go buy a new 1
Decepção é o nome do meu oneblade, refil de quase 80,00 não dura 2 meses e a garantia gera muita dor de cabeça.
Спасибо большое тебе добрый человек!!!
LOOL update, couldn’t get it open but I twist and pulled the thing so much that it started charging 🗿guess there’s a displacement of a wire or something that needs better soldering inside….
Amigo, abra o novo One Blade qp1424, certeza que a bateria ficou menor
Buen manual para desarmar, pero sa bateria esta soldada y pegada lo cual lo hace un infierno sacarla
I pulled the back end into a small vice. Clamp it so that the green rubbers are pressed by the jaws. Tight it smoothly to not break the placstic. Now you can pull a bit harder on the other side. I got it out this way
Я так понимаю любой акумулятор подойдет?
Qp2630. In my case the top came off, removed the blade first and twisted it until it separated. It is almost impossible to remove the bottom cover (charging end). Desolder the motor and then pull the black package with pcb from the bottom part.
In my case the battery was dead and the chargerboard defect. (Stopped after dropping it)
Hope this helps, don’t try to separate the plastic case from the bottom part.
Hi I purchased a Philips OneBlade Pro model QP6510/20, how do you disassemble, it is made in Indonesia, it appears different to the one you showed, I can not see a join in the case. I tried twisting the case as shown by you to no avail, looked at case body under a magnifier and can not see a join where it would come apart, any suggestions would be appreciated
Joint not join.
so the battery is plug and play, right? no soldering required to replace?
I got as far ass seeing the battery and pulling the tabs but it looks like it is soldered in. Might be able to cut it out with a scalpel or heat and desolder, but not easy.
lost the charger for this.. other philips trimmer's chargers wont work and u cant buy a replacement for one blade. any idea how to charge this one?
I’m sure you’ve found a replacement of sorts but if still interested i was able to order a charger on Amazon then it wouldn’t fit cause of a rubber thing in the middle of it so I just used a razor blade to cut it out and it charged it just fine
Währe es normal wenn dieses unter teil nicht abgeht und dann noch durchsichtig undnicht😅 schwarz ist
remains waterproof after dismantling?
No, you have to reapply silicone gel grease
I’m s******g myself trying to open it without broke it. This open from the video is a scam or hack 😢
Can we replace with larger mah?
Yes why not, you could use an eneloop..
It would probably work. As long as the voltage is the same 1.2v then the capacity (in mah) of the battery does not matter.
I accidentally used a different Phillips trimmer charger which output 15v and the trimmer won’t turn on. Is this repairable? And is there a trick to open it? I can’t twist it
I had the same problem (Phillips kind of such to produce chargers which are compatible socket-wise, but incompatible voltage-wise). There seems to be a burned SMD component - I posted question about it: electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/487302/identifying-burned-smd-component
can i replace with Li-on battery ?
Use only NiMH 1.2V cells.
@@TechLifestyleYou are wrong!!. I lost my time be cause your video. The charger IS 4,2 v 0.07A. The battery must be a 14500 li-on 3,6v 680 mah. There are 14500 with 850 mah.
Is it just a basic AA cell? I think about replacing it with 2300 mAh one :) Should give some extra working time.
I’m pretty sure that’s an 18650 battery
@@alexcher3660 ua-cam.com/video/XVieGb5ERM4/v-deo.html pause and look at its marking. AA 1200 1,2V.
@@alexcher3660 No it's a 14500 (or AA) , 18650 battery is taller and will not fit and use higher voltage, more informations here: laserpointerforums.com/threads/whats-the-difference-between-18650-and-aa.64640/ Something like that: www.amazon.fr/Duracell-Recharge-Ultra-Rechargeables-2500mAh/dp/B00E3DVQFS?th=1 will be compatible. About that the choice of the battery must be done depending of the usage, what i mean is with the default battery, if you charge it during 4h the battery will be full and will be able to deliver the highest voltage so the motor will run at 100% speed.
With a higher capacity battery, 4h will not be enough to charge it at 100% so the highest voltage will not be reached and the motor will not run at 100% speed...
my recommendation: if you're the kind of guy who charge it after each use so you can go with higgher capacity battery, if you always forget to charge it buy smaller capacity baterry (like the default one) and replace it more often (low voltage decrease battery life...)
@@alexcher3660 looks like it's an aa 1200 mah as per the label. Also looks like it if you look at the size of it compared to his thumb unless the guy actually had huge thumbs lol
@@alexcher3660Creo que tienes razón. Mi recambio de batería dejó de funcionar. El cargador usa 4,2 voltios.
Can we upgrade NiMi battery to Li-Ion?? Is the charger the same? :) Maybe a new comparison video with newer oneblade model QP2530 would help??
I don't think you can change battery chemistry, the circuits have to be different because they're different voltage
No, different voltage and charging characteristics. To be honest, metal hydride is superior to lithium batteries for this application, because it lasts much longer. Lithium batteries experience greatly reduced lifespan if charged beyond 80%, and dischsrged below 40%. With NiMH batteries, they are immune to this and long term can handle many more discharge/recharge cycles. Which makes them superior for frequent but short use. A lipo battery would be better if you're a barber that plans to spend all day trimming men non stop.
Bruh this shit hard to pull out
Спасибо большое из россии :-)
Не видно как вытаскиваешь аккумулятор
While pressing the body of the trimmer, push out the battery holder.
@@TechLifestyle the battery was soldered to the contacts and the case was glued, torn off), thanks for the quick reaction
I really want to brake in half
Bruh you gotta be hulk to open this with just your hands wtf… it’s getting me pissed
I accidently left my one blade charging for like 15 hours
After a full charge, it automatically goes to trickle charging, so not bad, but its better to disconnect it.
thanks for this video , thanks philipps for put lot of fat on my t shir 😅 because your your concept is far from sustainable developement..
so how do you remove this bloody battery once it s stuck together with glue ? thanks
NiMH, Philips are you serious?!
Why not Li-Ion?
I can't say why they made the choice, but I prefer NiMH for this application. With an indoor low current device , most of us familiar with the characteristics of different battery chemistries would prefer such. It's a more robust option in this application with a longer useful life. Li-ion's strengths only outweigh their weaknesses when high current, low temperature, or short charge times are a consideration for instance.
@@whitehat55 I'm not sure I agree. NiMH is normally for high-current applications. NiMH also has a high self-discharge, so if you only use the device very infrequently, the battery will have discharged a lot by the time you use it again. Also, LiIo has a very low discharge, so it would be perfect for that application. My conclusion is: LiIo would be preferable to NiMH.
@@RalfBergs You've got it backwards there. Li-ion has a much higher energy density which makes it more suitable for high current applications. As far as self discharge goes, this is true, though I use my beard trimmer a few times a week. I would imagine most folks do. I have one that's almost 20 years old with the original NiMH battery in it. Still in use today. It's the perfect application for NiMH really.
The other great thing about NiMH in this application is when they sit around drained or close to it, it won't destroy the cell like it would with Li-ion. Likewise, full charges won't damage it either like they would Li-ion.
@@whitehat55 yes, you're right, LiIo is *also* for high-current applications, and indeed it has a much higher energy-density (which might be another argument for using it in this device, because you could make it slimmer and lighter). I didn't dispute that. The point is: this device is *not* such kind of an application.
You are definitely right with saying LiIo is "sensitive", and NiMh is more robust.
To conclude: I'm still not convinced and would probably prefer LiIo over NiMH... 😁
@@RalfBergs It would seem we're currently both fortunate enough to have a market that is flooded with both options I guess then! Nice to meet another battery enthusiast btw ;)
Wait how does this shaver only have one nimh battery cell which is 1.2 volts isn't that extremely underpowered!?!?
Debe de haber un error. Porque mi cargador es de 4,2 voltios. Creo que algunas deben funcionar a 3,7 v
Mine is jammed
Mine as well any fix?
@@barca29np actually it turns out I just hasn’t charged it loo. It wasn’t jammed
That's how you made a product what I will not recommended to buy to anybody.
Pathetic Philips...
This shaver is rubbish. Paid a lot for mine. Then, after 2 months nearly paid as much for the blade as the whole device. Then, before I could replace the blade again the battery died. Waste, total waste, of money
This trimmer is overrated......
I mean, is it the best trimmer ever made? Obviously not.
Is it the best for the money? From where I live, an obvious yes.
Is it that cheap because they get you with the consumable blades and doesn't have an option for a self sharpening blade? Also obviously yes.
Can you find knockoff brand blades for a fraction of the price that practically the same as the Philips ones? If you look hard enough yes.
So yea it has pros and cons, I have one and I like it, I only shave pubic areas and it's way safer than a blade, it also shaves so close to the skin and for the beard it trims pretty well, I was impressed by it. I like it especially for the price.
18650???????????
Nope
Looks like 14500, AA battery sized NiMih cell
@@-joo3033 don't use 14500, it's different voltage and will fry the board.
@@ctsd623 i said it Looks like a 14500 and also that its a NiMih...a 3,6V battery would fry it
@@-joo3033 14500 is LiIo, not NiMH.
