Wow, a real work of art. Best bench I've seen to date. I love how you say you're new to wood working and then continue to build a masterpiece. Well done.
@@RJsShedShop Good on ya RJ but I won't be playing cards with you anytime soon. You've a good channel going, I look forward to your next adventure. Taipan Woodworks
Stunning bench, you are already very good at this, might I suggest showing more build and extending your video time as I feel it would encourage more watchers , thanks for posting from Garry in the UK
Hello RJ, that's a fine bench. I like the large apron on one side and the sliding deadman on the other side. You've given me some good ideas as I prepare to start building my bench from a large stack of douglas fir I've been saving in the shop . Robert
Gorgeous bench. I have been looking for good wood to build my next bench. I am staying away from construction lumber as it may still have to much moisture, which could lead to warping. I know you stated you are new to this, but watching you work and the tools you have definitely do not give that impression. Keep doing what you do. It is obvious you have a great affinity for wood.
Thanks heaps, I did let the timber sit for months before use. I purchased a lot of the tools you see within the last 6 months so that I can take my passion to a higher level.
Wow! Bloody impressive. For a beginner you do nice work. One of the nicest I have seen for a beginner. Keep up the good work. This is my first visit to your video so i look forward to seeing your other videos! Good to see another Aussie (I am assuming from the accent) having a crack
This is amazing that you are new to woodworking. What did you do or do you do for a living,? I’m just curious to know where you learned these great skill sets.
Glad to, its 1700mm long, 750mm wide and 900 high. The bench top is 100mm thick, legs 140x120, rails and stretchers 140x 100. Hope that helps. thanks heaps for watching and subscribing.
Just found your channel and am enjoying your videos. I’d recommend adding affiliate links if possible as you use a nice/wide selection of tools. For example, what kind of chisel plane is it that you used for the glue removal? Also, wondering how the splines on the ends have worked out since this was built. I’m wondering if the wood expansion was an issue or if this method helped keep things in check?
Thanks heaps, the bench did expand slightly, you can feel maybe .5mm difference if that. Overall I think it helps a lot and would certainly use this method again.

Your videography is wonderful.
Thanks heaps.
RJ your comment about being "new" to woodworking is like the guy who said "I've never played poker before".
😄
Thanks. I have only taken woodworking seriously and purchased my equipment within the last year. Thanks for watching. I hoped you enjoyed it.
