Nope, most GNU/Linux distros follow something called the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard. Android contains some non-standard and/or locked down partitions that don't appear in the FHS, such as /system and /data. It is running the Linux kernel, with a different userland, and a JVM running on top for sandboxed applications. You can try this by going and downloading termux and checking the root dirs. Its different. One of the ways you can try to fake a standard FHS filesystem is using proot (if not rooted) or chroot (if rooted) which bind mounts or fakes the filesystem if needed. I did this when I was programming on a tablet to ensure some of the GNU/Linux software I used ran correctly.
did you know if you download and compile chromiumos from source the emerge command literally does work and USE flags literally work. the biggest difference is that with normal gentoo, the packages are merged directly into your running rootfs, but in chromiumos by default the packages are installed into a target image and then you can deploy the target image

Nope, most GNU/Linux distros follow something called the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard. Android contains some non-standard and/or locked down partitions that don't appear in the FHS, such as /system and /data. It is running the Linux kernel, with a different userland, and a JVM running on top for sandboxed applications.
You can try this by going and downloading termux and checking the root dirs. Its different. One of the ways you can try to fake a standard FHS filesystem is using proot (if not rooted) or chroot (if rooted) which bind mounts or fakes the filesystem if needed. I did this when I was programming on a tablet to ensure some of the GNU/Linux software I used ran correctly.
bruh, it means that it is so much diffrent from "typical" distros like ubuntu, debian, mint etc. that its hard to consider that as "typical" distro.
a distro doesn't have to be typical to be a distro, just look at alpine or openwrt, yet those are considered distros

As a Gentoo user, I would rather use a mac or windows system than chrome os.
did you know if you download and compile chromiumos from source the emerge command literally does work and USE flags literally work. the biggest difference is that with normal gentoo, the packages are merged directly into your running rootfs, but in chromiumos by default the packages are installed into a target image and then you can deploy the target image
my only issue is that everything is virtualized except chrome by default and it doesn't provide a free or traditional user experience
